Despite being just a short hop away from the West End of London, Arbor Hyde Park feels like it's a million miles from the intense whirl of nearby Marble Arch. Hidden away on a quiet loop that curves off from the main stretch of Lancaster Gate, the hotel provides its guests with a level of quiet seclusion rarely found in so accessible a location. Housed within a beautiful Victorian terrace, just a couple of minutes' walk from the trees, lakes and green spaces of Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens, Arbor Hyde Park offers a style of meticulous but unobtrusive service that matches the simple elegance of its architecture. The hotel has been designed for the comfort and convenience of its guests, with an emphasis on understated quality. There aren't many places in central London that can claim to be genuinely restful. The Royal Parks can make a good case; Arbor Hyde Park, which looks out over one of those parks, can too.

We stayed in the hotel for one night only. The room was a reasonable size, the bed was comfy and the water was hot enough in the shower but that's where the good stuff stops. The room was covered in stains from the chairs to the curtains (it looked like someone had gone mental with some toothpaste), more than half the lights didn't work and the ones that did made a very unhealthy electric surge noise, all the furniture was battered. We were also approached by a man in front of the hotel asking us if we have some weed. You can probably find a better place for the money.

We booked the hotel on the 26th at night to stay the same night because we had to go to London to make a visa, because we missed the train we immediately contacted the hotel to see if they could change it for the night of the 27. Which the night of the 27 is worth 15 pounds less than the night of the 26. We could not contact the hotel and they did not respond. I made a call to booking with cost and they told me that the hotel had to think about whether to make an exception and change it. Then I receive a rejection message for reasons that they do not have availability, which is a lie because they had availability. I called to discuss it and they told me that on the 26th, requests from 18:00 onwards the cancellation policy applies, when in my case the reservation was made after 18:00 (they should value it to make an exception but no, They prefer to have empty rooms at 44 than to give a good solution and a good attention to their clients) that is, you pay not to be able to stay. We understand and we put ourselves in the hotel place and at no time did we say to reimburse, but they empathize 0. After 18:00 they do not accept requests but they accept requests for payment and reservation for the same night. At the end of it all, you get a kick in the butt, they don't give you alternatives, nor do they send you a message of resentment. They reject you without saying anything when you send them a thousand messages.

Booked this hotel as it was on offer - we paid £44 for the night which is great for London. When we arrived, I saw why. We definitely had one of the worse rooms in the building, it was on a corner and it was much smaller than photos online. Regardless, there were no robes or toothpaste which was annoying. The walls are not soundproof so loud music from next door felt like it was in our room - I tried to phone reception about this a number of times but there was no answer. Thankfully after 1am it stopped; talking could still be heard throughout the night though. They did however give us cutlery and the staff were very nice. The room itself was clean and it was a great location. I would recommend using this hotel to stay in London if you are busy / have something to do. Not a place for couples or somebody travelling for business - just a place to sleep and shower!

This is a nice hotel with very helpful reception staff. There are gates to enter Hyde Park at the end of the street. The room we had for myself, partner and small daughter was very spacious and the shower was amazing with rain head and water fall tap. We had a nice little stay here.

I strongly advise not to stay here. I arrived at the hotel when I could check in. Upon arrival I was told that we could not go into the room as it was I quote “very very dirty” from the receptionist. This was also made clear by the cleaners that I could over here. I was told that they would look for another room which I was then told I could not go into as it was incredibly dirty also. I used the toilet in the by the downstairs kitchen to find a live cockroach on its back in there. I told them I would go for a walk and come back. When I came back at around 5:45 I was given my room key and told everything was ok. I went to the room to find stains all over the floor, white stains all over the chairs at the end of the bed and and questionable stains on the day bed, used chewing gum behind the furniture in the room. I went down to see if I could change rooms which I went to look into another room and again the room was filthy and again stains on the bathroom walls. I decided to cancel my stay which I was charged a cancellation fee as I had gone past the cut off time even though I couldn’t get into the room until much later. The receptionist didn’t mind telling me about the guests that had stayed in there before and how they had been moved and made other rooms filthy.
