A real treat for a few days with the family. Fantastic location and lovely place. The staff are proper, professional hospitality people. Top class service. Highly recommended. Ideal for the park, tubes and walking into the shops or to restaurants. Worth the money

First time here and will return. Very welcoming front desk. Issue with our room but resolved swiftly. We had a deluxe room which was large and very comfy bed , great night sleep. Good location for W1 just jump on the tube at Baker Street but also easy walk down to Oxford street. Lots of eateries around too.

TERRIBLE MATRESSES Holmes hotel is a wonderfully presented hotel with very friendly staff, but sadly had the most uncomfortable bed I have ever slept in. I was in room 208. The mattress was so hard that when I rolled onto my side my arm went dead so I had to roll back onto my back and suffer pins and needles whilst waiting for my circulation to return. I even got up in the night to remove the covers and check if the mattress had accidentally been put on the wrong way up! (it looked like a new mattress) I had virtually no sleep and when I checked out and said I had virtually no sleep the receptionist immediately said "was the bed too hard". I had not said why I had not slept, so I guess that her response implies many others have commented about how hard the beds are. The key reason for a hotel is a good night's sleep. For this reason, despite all the other lovely things about this hotel, I would not recommend it to other travellers, and I will not be staying there again. I struggled the whole of the next day in my meetings because I was so exhausted from my lack of sleep.

Dear 1118jacqui, thank you for taking the time to share your experience. It is great to see you enjoyed the Holmes Hotel vibe and our friendly service! I am so sorry that you did not enjoy the best nights sleep with us. It is disappointing that you found the mattress too hard for your tastes, especially as our guests comfort is one of our top priorities. We are always happy to provide additional bedding or mattress toppers on request. We hope we do have another chance to welcome you and exceed your expectations in the future. Warm regards, Lucy

We stayed on the first weekend after restrictions were eased and we had a really lovely stay. The staff were so welcoming and attentive, particularly Desiree at check in and Bogdan when we passed by reception. The attention to Covid protocols was superb and we felt safe and protected by all the measures in place. The bar was cosy and comfortable and the breakfast which we had included in our package was excellent and served very capably by Marina. The hotel is a smallish boutique style property in an excellent location and the room we were given was large, airy and immaculately clean. We will definitely return when we visit London again. The bed was comfy, large and despite Covid protocols the room felt luxurious with robes and a Nespresso machine. I would highly recommend this hotel and all the staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome.

The Holmes Hotel is conveniently close to Marylebone Road (where there is a good NCP car park). As you might suspect the Hotel has lots of Sherlock Homes features, pictures and models including a picture of his hat over the bed! The Sherlock Holmes Cafe is next door but unfortunately closed as I visited over lockdown. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. I had a lovely double room and en-suite shower overlooking Baker Street. The room had an excellent coffee maker and tea facilities although room service was very easy to use and quick! Unfortunately the Restaurant was closed, due to Covid, but the kitchen was open and I enjoyed a very nice steak and glass of wine in my room. Breakfast was deliciously too I will go back! Hopefully with my husband next time. (He was having an op at the King Edward VII at the time of my stay). The hospital is a few minutes walk from the Hotel I would definitely recommend this Hotel! Your stay in London can only be enhanced by staying here … and it’s very close to lovely shops, restaurants and bars
