My husband, his brother, wife and myself visited London as our Christmas family get together. We stopped at The Waldorf London arriving on 16th November and leaving the 17th November in room 714. We had an amazing time. The hotel is lovely and the staff was all-great. My reason for this review is that the towel rail in the bathroom was ridiculously hot, I understand they need to be hot but this one has left a very nasty burn on the side of my bum. I bent to pick a towel up off the floor and just touched the side of the rail that made me scream and jump it hurt that much. My husband ran in to see what had happened and was shocked at the mark. I immediately put a cold flannel onto the area while my husband went to get a manager and first aid. The manager came up and she said that all the rails where this hot. I found that hard to believe. She was concerned and advised I couldn't put my jeans on top of it and said there were some shops close to get a skirt to wear. I did agree but a cost we wasn't there to be spending on clothes. Another member of staff then came up with a first aid box and some ice. He felt the rail and said it was far to hot and immediately turned it off by the power. There are no dials on these to be able to turn them down either. He didn't open the first aid box as they said there was nothing they could put on it as they do not know if people have allergies. She said to let them know if I needed more ice. No accident book was filled in to my knowledge. I had to then lie on the bed with ice on while my husband had to go and find something for me to put on and a pharmacy to see what they said. As this was a sunday no where was open till 11.30am, this happened about 9am. My husband showed the pharmacist a photo of my burn and he couldn't believe it was off a rail. My worry is if this ever happened to a child. What I'm more annoyed about is that it is a year later and I still haven't had a call back after saying they were investigating. I sent email after email and nothing. I feel as though they have just ignored me in the hope I wont take it further, were in fact this has just angered me. I do not write bad reviews ever but as no one is whiling to answer my emails I feel it needs to be said so others do not get burnt.

Hotel's Favorite
I have been in many hotels since the lockdown and it is clear that almost all have reduced prices and cut service to the bone, with food options, particularly breakfast becoming low quality, poor value and a cash cow. I stayed at the Waldorf with the wife pre COVID and decided to take advantage of the lower prices to stay somewhere better whilst working in London. I fully expected not to get a repeat of the excellent experience we had pre COVID and I was entirely wrong. I was allocated a fantastic room, with a bath to die for and a huge, comfortable bed. The service and quality in the bar, at check in, check out and breakfast were as attentive and excellent as I remember. Douglas on the door was great and entertaining to have a natter with. His technique for hailing a taxi is a marvel to observe. My only minor gripe was that breakfast does not start until 7.30am so I had to fall back on the breakfast box, which are always disappointing wherever you go. Other than that, I can’t wait to return to this very well staffed and managed hotel.

Hotel was fine, the room was a insult, the view from the room was completely blocked by a steel shed, the hotel wasn't full, so I assume they heard my northern accent and thought he's a thick northerner so we'll give him a crap room. Reality is I'm quite wealthy and have stayed at some of the top hotels in the world, the view over the bay in Monaco from the Hotel de Paris, was definitely better.
