we visited the restaurant recently. We found it very chilly. We had a long wait for starters, which were very nice. After another wait for the main course, it was served almost cold. It seemed difficult to get the waitress(not British) to understand the problem, but eventually she caught on and the meals were changed. We would have been happy... More

As the hotel has been around a while and the rate was quite low we expected it to be a bit tired. Nothing like it. All the public areas were fresh and opulent and the room was brilliant. We had a standard room which was compact but perfectly big enough. It had all the amenities and features you could want.... More

We enjoyed dinner here- the only down side was the wait for our starters, although the waiter was very apologetic. The dining room looks a little tired and could do with bringing up to date with a coat of ( lighter) paint. The food was good, the waiters extremely professional and friendly. We would certainly visit again.

Shutters broken (night manager tied with string??) Not really what you'd expect. Sky light blind didn't work; maintenance called who was adamant no blind to use 2 phone calls later and blind fixed. Front of house staff lovely, food amazing but little niggles let down the ambience of the stay.

This hotel has never disappointed, it upholds the highest standards of the Waldorf/Hilton brand. The staff really are 100% committed to exceeding customer expectations. We had access to the Executive lounge , which is the best I have visited in London. The guest relations manager , Christina went out of her way to ensure we were happy with our stay... More

Loved everything about the hotel. The employees were great, the food was fantastic, the location was very convenient. This is on the west end near many theaters. Taxis are easily available, tube is nearby and the bus is a block away. The room was very nice with everything we needed and more.

Dear Kathy M, Thank you for your wonderful review on TripAdvisor. It is a great thing to see when a guest uses so many superlatives to describe the hotel, the staff and everything that links the two together. Visited the Waldorf Hilton for afternoon tea, on arrival we were warmly welcomed and shown to a lovely table, our waiter introduced himself and took our individual tea orders, our tea and sandwiches arrived very quickly, the pastries and cakes were excellent (especially the scones), the sandwiches were mediocre , (get nicer in M&S), after our tea arrived we didn't... Dear Mr. Howard, Thank you for discussing with us your recent Afternoon Tea experience within our Homage restaurant. Your feedback on your departure did somewhat let down your overall experience and this... More

This hotel is living on past glory and using the name "Waldorf" is deceitful. Service staff are courteous but not efficient. You do not get value for money even for the fact that there was a "sale" price during the period of my booking and stay.

Dear Chiemeka M, Thank you for your feedback. I assure you that it is absolutely not the case that the use of the Waldorf name is in anyway intended as a means to be deceitful. Evidently you feel that there were certain failings on our part however you have not expanded on these areas so that we can identify, learn... More

We decided to book a set pre-theatre meal at Homage restaurant as we were going to see Beautiful (Carol King Story) at the Aldwych Theatre next door. The ambience of the restaurant was lovely - 1930's Art Deco feel and music to match. The food and service was excellent and I would say it was one of the best meals... More

Staying in Trafalgar Square / Embankment

Neighborhood Profile
Trafalgar Square / Embankment
With its iconic Nelson’s Column, majestic oversized lions and brightly-lit fountains, Trafalgar Square is not just considered the heart of this bustling London hub, but the very core of the city itself. Beyond this esteemed gathering place are more famous icons, as well as a disproportionate numbers of the city’s most popular cultural attractions including the National Gallery and many West End theaters. Along the way to these major sites are quiet lanes and antiquated pubs to discover, as well as riverside vistas to enjoy on the embankment. With a calendar full of celebratory events, any time of year is a fine time to visit.
