Great location for this hotel! Basically in the middle of Piccadilly Station and Leicester Square Station. The hotel itself was clean, the rooms were a good size, and the staff were very helpful. The rooms were very quiet - I was on the first floor and couldn’t hear anything that was happening outside. Will stay here again!
Wonderful hotel tucked in between Piccadilly Square and Leister Square in a lovely quiet area, close to West End theaters, shopping, restaurants, entertainment, and transportation. Convenient to get anywhere you need to go quickly on foot (and by tube and bus). Comfortable rooms, beds, comforters. Great air conditioning in the hot summer. Delicious hot and cold breakfast! We sat at bistro tables outside under a roof with shady trees overhead—lovely ambiance. Outstanding staff—welcoming, attention to detail to help guests, kind and helpful. Especially thankful to awesome Michael from the restaurant who was so patient and kind—above and beyond. He helped us with a tricky situation and then followed up with us to make sure all was well. We also appreciated the excellent assistance of Mitzi and Sue. We stayed on Leister Square last time we were in London and loved it, but this time we enjoyed this conveniently located, and for us a respite hotel far more and will stay here when we come again.…
So, the Thistle. It’s in a good location, right across from Chinatown, adjacent to Leicester Square, a bit north of Trafalgar Square, and a bit south of Covent Garden. We were in room 403, a deluxe king, which I thought was rather small for being deluxe, though the bathroom and shower were spacious. The bed was pretty hard, which was fine for us, but could be an issue for others. The pillows felt cheap. One major problem for me was the very thick quilt. I like a cooler room, but if I kept it on, I’d wake up in a sweat. It wasn’t a problem for my wife, who is always cold, but who needs a quilt in the summer? Blankets would have been better so there could be some adjustments made. And no matter what I did, I couldn’t get the room temperature down. Sometimes turning the unit off then on again would get it to run, but not for long enough to cool things down. There’s a lower limit and management has decided that sweating is good for you. Speaking of the shower, lots of very hot water and great pressure, but the door didn’t seal properly and flooded the floor. Someone came quickly to mop it all up, and promised to come back the next day to fix it, but never did. So a nice big shower that you couldn’t really enjoy because you had to be so careful not to flood the room. Also, shampoo and body wash, but no conditioner, and no wash cloths. Using a large hand towel seemed impractical, so I have no idea what management could have been thinking. A few other bits. Wi-Fi was pretty fast and stable, but I couldn’t find any USB ports. Rooms seemed to be pretty soundproof, as we didn’t hear anything on either side of us. Nespresso machine, but only two pods, and you couldn’t use it if one of you were still sleeping because it made a lot of noise. There was a kettle also, with instant coffee, teas, and two little biscuits, and two free bottles of water each day. They had a full English breakfast, but the food wasn’t all that good. All the staff we dealt with were courteous and helpful. Would I stay here again? Good question. Maybe a different room would have made things much better.…
Our second time staying at this hotel. Its location is great, so central to many of London’s attractions and it’s so easy to get to being located less than a five minute walk from both Piccadilly and Leicester Square Tube stations. The rooms may not be as swanky or modern as some hotels, but they’re clean and functional. We would definitely book another stay here!
I stayed here with my boyfriend for 5 days and we had an amazing experience. It is a great location, walking distance to anything you want to see. Rooms were cozy and staff was friendly and helpful!!!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We arrived early and 1 of 2 rooms were available. The rooms were comfortable and clean with all necessities available. The breakfast was quite good, the manager was very kind and got my mother milk for her coffee. The location was quick and easy to all attractions and considering the elocution very quite, rooms on floors 1 and 5. Highly recommended!
The hotel was in a perfect location for Piccadilly and for getting around London. The rooms were of nice size and very comfortable. The best part of the hotel were the staff. Ahmed at the front desk was especially helpful during our early morning arrival.
We stayed here for one night as part of our babymoon. The check in process was great and the staff were very helpful. Our room overlooked the street and I was really worried it would be noisy but we didn't hear a thing! The noise reducing methods they have installed were perfect. We would definitely stay again if visiting London. Amazing
Soumia at the restaurant was super nice at helpful at breakfast. She kept on checking i was ok. Great hospitality and super nice place to stay., also very clean and easily accessible. Defined recommend!
It was everything awesome! From reception staff specifically Eugen and Rupo until housekeeping staff because the room was all the time clean and well maintained I was so happy with the location and that is very quite .
