I booked this hotel last minute on the basis of the reviews I read. I regularly use London hotels and the reviews of this hotel are not accurate based on my experience. I stayed for one night and was given a basement room just by the Cromwell road which is a very busy road. I asked for a quieter room... More

I recently stayed at the Ashburn Hotel for a couple of nights, whilst I was in London on business. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The continental breakfast was excellent. It was great to receive a complimentary newspaper and free wifi. I didn't have an opportunity to have the complimentary glass of wine before dinner on either evening I... More

Our first trip to London found us staying at the Ashburn, a converted townhouse in Kensington. It's truly an "ask and ye shall receive" kind of place. The people who work there? Beyond friendly. They were willing and happy to bring us countless buckets of ice, arrange early morning car service, run all over the place so I could have... More

First time in London and we stayed at the Ashburn Hotel. Hotel staff are friendly and very accommodating. Room was beautiful, quiet and clean. Located in Kensington we are close to the Tube and many sites. We are so happy in selecting the Ashburn and would certainly return when we come back to London.

This small hotel was a perfect stay for me. Staff was very friendly, Room was clean and nicely decorated. A personal welcome letter gave me a smile and made me feel very welcome. The small but included breakfast was great and te and coffe served at the table. The location was great with a tube-station just around the corner. This... More

On the plus side, our room was clean and well stocked, the options at breakfast were satisfactory, the staff was friendly and helpful, and you really can't ask for a better location. On the minus side, our room had only one pair of electrical outlets, the drawers in the furniture were hard to open and close (yes, the antique look... More

This was the second time we visited The Ashburn, this time to celebrate my birthday as a comfortable stop over after eating at the Shard. When I informed reservations that it was our second visit and for a special occasion they couldn't have been more helpful; they offered us a small discount and the room we got (a king double)... This is the third time of having holidays at Ashburn hotel, and I'm getting better and better feeting to this hotel . This is because, it is gorgeous and clean building, it's perfect to feel the history of London, and also in the practical side, within walking lenghth there are Harrods, Natural History Museum and V & A. It is... More

Very comfortable and well appointed boutique hotel. Perfect location. 5 minutes walk to the Gloucester Rd tube station, which is on the Piccadilly line connecting from Heathrow airport. Rooms a good size for London, and the bathroom functional. Continental breakfast was included in the rate

Staying in South Kensington

Neighborhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
