I was visiting London for the weekend to attend a workshop so reading the small room reviews didn't bother me as I was alone and wouldn't be spending a lot of time in the room. I was actually okay with the room size .... However it was in a shocking state, all the walls had marks and gouges out of... More

The location is great, only few minutes away from a tube. The hotel is in a quite residential neighbourhood. The rooms are of modest size, but it's a great place to stay on a budget with free Wi-Fi access.

Small but perfectly adequate room & great location for food & underground. View was of the air condition unit but on the plus side, no noise from the road our friends had at their hotel. No bar, but we bought wine & beer, they were very happy for us to use the fridge in reception

We stayed at the hotel for 5 nights, we found the staff very helpful also the room was cleaned once a day bright and modern decoration , tea and coffee facilities good also would have been nice to have a choice of paying for a cooked breakfast , value for money, good location would stay again.

Pros: Clean, organized, easy to find, economical for central London, huge towels, lift, location, continental breakfast available. Cons: small rooms, tiny bathroom with minuscule leaky shower, deadbolt didn't work on door, no bedcover just a sheet, no a/c just a fan. Verdict: would stay here again-- value worth the price.

Small - very small - room with basic facilities only, but more than adequate as a place to simply relax and sleep in between doing touristy things around London.Location was good, with proximity to Gloucester Rd tube station. Staff were responsive - never had to ask for anything more than once. Noisy at night, but this could have been more... More

The location was great , 5 mts walk to nearby Tube station of Gloucester Road . The staff was decent and helpful .The rooms were too small and the bathroom even smaller . I was happy to have the room with a the balcony overlooking the road . Breakfast was very very basic

Great location. 4 mins walk from Gloucester Rd tube station. Loads of places locally to eat and drink. Tip. Get a taste card. Room wasn't huge but perfectly adequate. Clean and modern. No bar but loads locally. Very adequate. Buffet continental breakfast. Staff v helpful. Needed a two pin adapt or for electric toothbrush. No probs. And they put a... More

Handy location for museums and not too far from central London. Tidy clean room, good en suite facilities. Common areas are smart and at a level commensurate with the price. Friendly, helpful staff and good selection of 'continental' breakfast provided.

The main thing to commend this hotel is its location, close to Gloucester Rd and the museums. Otherwise the rooms are musty and small and in need of cleaning. The toilets were tiny and the small TV didn't work properly. Breakfast was passable. The receptionists were very friendly but poorly informed of the area and were unable to assist with... More

Staying in South Kensington

Neighborhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
