Hotel Indigo London - Kensington is often commended for its exceptional service, particularly the warm staff encounters during breakfast, although some guests have faced maintenance issues. The hotel's unique and stylish atmosphere adds to the charm, albeit the quirkiness of uneven floors and snug rooms. Its prime location near Earl's Court tube station is a highlight for guests seeking easy transport links. While opinions on value and room amenities vary, with some concerns over noise and room quality, the overall cleanliness and distinctive room decor are well-regarded by many travelers.

Overall we enjoyed our stay with a few hiccups.

When we checked in the fridge wasn’t working, the light in makeup mirror in the bath wasn’t working and the TV was broken. They were able to fix the fridge but the rest didn’t get fixed g our stay. The room and bathroom are pretty dark so it would have been helpful to have the light on the makeup mirror.

The rainfall shower head is more of a drip and the wand has much better pressure but is mounted low so you have to hold it to use. I wish there was an option to mount it up high to use hand free instead of the rainfall shower head. There only a half shower door so the floor does get wet when showering.

It’s London so there was no counters in the bathroom nor an outlet to use a hairdryer in the bathroom. (So plan accordingly).

The location was great, close to the tube and it was relatively quiet at night. (Just a few squeaking floor boards from the people walking above).

There’s no way to adjust the thermostat so we did keep the window open because it was hot and stuffy…It was March so I can’t imagine if they don’t have AC how it would feel in the summer though.

The decor was fun and it was a good hotel for the price.

Stayed here for 7 nights and from start to finish we had the best hotel experience.
We stayed in room 115 (Premium Queen Room) which faced out onto Barkston Gardens. Plenty of space to move around: large wardrobe and could fit cases under the bed. There were a range of hot drinks to make up and bottled water and biscuits replenished daily.
Reception staff were friendly and welcoming acknowledging us each time we left and entered hotel.
Richard led the dining room at Breakfast during our stay and was attentive and welcoming every day making sure everyone was looked after. All the breakfast staff treated guests with patience and courtesy and responded to individual requests for food and drinks even on the busiest days. Special thanks as well to Sharven who served us several times and took time to chat about our day and answer our questions about the area. The cooked food was made to order and tasted delicious. Perfectly poached eggs every time and the alternate breakfast included peppers, halloumi and avocado instead of the usual meat substitutes.
Housekeeping was carried out every day and the room and hotel felt fresh and clean throughout our stay.
Overall, we loved our stay in Hotel Indigo Kensington and hope to visit again in the future.

I have stayed at this hotel in the past. This time around, I was expecting a much better experience, especially when it concerns complimentary upgrades.

Sadly yet again, I was disappointed.

Platinum members of the IHG group are always going to be disappointed. When I checked the website, premium rooms were showing availability.

I was advised, "No available rooms." this is disappointing as they obviously do.

The terms of the franchise agreement clearly state that complimentary upgrades to the next available bedroom category are offered to members, subject to availability.

I was only staying one night. This is a case of not letting the room be allocated to an existing guest in the hope someone will book and pay the premium rate for it.

Footfall over loyalty guest recognition.

This happened years ago and is still happening now.

The hotel itself, well, it's an impressive old building converted into many bedrooms.

Every space possible has been utilised for a bedroom, I was in a bedroom so small I could hear the conversations in the next room. Soundproofing non exisitant.

The bathroom was so tiny you could not get two people inside even if you tried.

The bed was clean, fresh, and comfortable.
The mini fridge was broken and had to be fixed, which took over an hour, but it was useful to have in the room. The room was scrupulously clean.

Tea, coffee, and complimentary water are readily available. Fresh towels and bathroom toiletries included.

A large LCD television on the wall.

The decor is in keeping with all Indigo hotels, funky, vivid colours, and lots of character.

Breakfast was lovely, just as I expected. Ample cold selection, hot food ordered off the menu.

In conclusion, I wouldn't recommend this hotel. They are not going to offer upgrades. They didn't in the past, and still nothing has changed. The majority of the rooms are decent enough, but the standard ones are small, cramped, and dark.
Not much natural light.

Dear Stanley-X-123, Thank you for choosing our Hotel Indigo London - Kensington and providing feedback about your experience. It's a pleasure having one of our IHG One Rewards Platinum Elite members. I am truly sorry you did not experience an exemplary stay due to our staff's service and that no upgrades were offered. This is certainly below our usual high standard of service. Please be certain that I have noted and forwarded your feedback for the management to improve. In the middle of your experience, I am glad our room's cleanliness and comfort were still appreciated. Please grant us the opportunity to prove ourselves again. Best Regards, Ben W. Case Manager IHG Hotels and Resorts Service

The room hadn't been cleaned properly.
Dust all over the light bulbs..and i mean on every single one of them!
Dust on the TV Cables.
Coffee marks on the wall that could easily be wiped down.

Toilet misplaced - too high - and the mirror is placed high above the sink - persons shorter that 1,70m would struggle to look their face on the mirror!

The shower is so badly designed on all aspects I don't even want to number them down.

The sink drain plug was replaced with the cheapest plastic one in the market.
The sink faucet and showerhead full of limescale..
The bathroom door was in disrepair.

The bedside lamps are huge compared to the tiny desk, leaving zero space to place any personal items on the desk.

Didn't get breakfast as found it expensive.
There was no Nespresso machine, but cheap instant coffee in the room..

On the bright side, I loved the big TV right opposite the bed.
The bed was comfortable.

The hotel room looks like a cheap Holiday Inn, rather than a Premium Hotel Indigo..

Hotel located about 300 meters from the metro Earl's Court so in perfect location. The area is served by all major amenities including hotels, cafes and pizzerias.
Staff always helpful and courteous. The room (a couple with a one-year-old girl) was comfortable and served by a third bed (possibility to also request a cot). Perfect breakfast, varied and plentiful for both sweet and savory. The price included the possibility to order different types of breakfast at the plate. We had asked to be able to bring the check in earlier and we were granted. Everything perfect!!

The Hotel Indigo Kensington is a great hotel in a very convenient location in central London. The rooms are not the generic of most chain hotels and have individual design and are a good size for the location, compared to many other hotels where you can’t move in them.

Breakfast is a standout where it is plated and not the usual hot buffet, with a good continental selection. Service from Anjali and Shavven was excellent, both very friendly and making it personal even when busy keeping on top of everything.

Overall great hotel, location and service from the breakfast team.

This hotel is perfectly located on a quiet side street, but minutes away from the Tube station, a grocery store, a pharmacy, several pubs and various restaurants. It really is everything you need at your fingertips. And the tube goes directly from Heathrow to EArls Court station, so was super easy to get from and to the airport, which is a huge bonus. Prices for food and drink in the hotel were high, as you'd expect. We had 2 rooms and they're a bit quirky with one being much larger than the other for the same price. Staff was very nice. Room was clean except for the furniture. Those cloth covered chairs and couches have to go and replaced by something that can be easily wiped down and cleaned. Bathroom had very limited space to put your toiletries, makeup...etc., but it did come with a lighted magnifying mirror on the wall, so that was a nice bonus. I would stay here again, simply for the perfect location.

Since our old favorite hotel - the 'Twenty Nevern Square' - has lost so much quality in recent years, we were forced to look for a new favorite place at Earls Court.

The 'Indigo Kensington' was in our price range and so we booked it for 6 nights:

- less than 5 minutes walk to the subway station
- fantastic breakfast with table service. Something for every taste, there is English AND continental breakfast. Everything is also vegetarian and gluten-free, although I didn't try any of that
- our room was large by London standards, tastefully decorated and well equipped (safe, minibar with free water, tea, cocoa, coffee every day... bathrobes, slippers, lots of bathroom stuff, hairdryer, TV...)
- beds and mattresses are comfortable and we slept really well
- the shower was large, the water was hot with enough pressure, so not a given for London
- the staff were always friendly, service-oriented, in a good mood
- there is a hotel bar and restaurant, but I didn't use either
- clean, daily cleaning, fresh towels
- well located with beautiful houses and trees opposite

Slight point deduction for the usual minor London imperfections and unfinished repairs: loud air conditioning, the exhaust air in the bathroom didn't work, which led to mold growth and caused the door to swell at the bottom, and generally someone should tighten everything up again with a screwdriver.

We will definitely go there again on our next trip to London.

The quiet hotel room overlooking a clean noiseless street lined with winter-barren trees had brought me hours of tranquility. Beyond was the row of red-facade Kensingtonian edifices, propagating the solemnity of an established understanding of life. Each morning the breakfast at the in-house restaurant was timely and calm, attended with rapt attention by Anjali, Sharvan, Nathan, Tariq and Arther; their courtesy and care were original. I look forward to returning to this abode.

I think so, I didn’t need to use an iron when I was there so didn’t specifically look for it. If not reception would definitely provide it.
