We liked this place. It is small, cosy and tasteful. A refined mix of Italy and thoroughly British. If you like Chelsea, this is a wonderful hotel. We asked for a ground floor room/suite, which was confirmed after some effort (from our side). We were upgraded to the master room on the first floor, and that was of course a... More

Arrived at San Domenico House on a nasty rainy day. We had a lovely warm welcome from from the concierge. The hotel had a firecrackling, antiques and large paintings on the walls. We were shown to our suite, which was in two floors. Very cosy. Lovely bathroom products, enticed me to have a huge bubble bath. Bed and pillows were... More

Our second stay here. Nice rooms and very convenient area. Helpful and polite staff. Did not eat breakfast there. We wanted to stay in the area and in a small hotel. This suits the bill. I would come back again.

The place is absolutely stunning. Location as well. Service can definitely be better. Issues with the reservation system forced me to change 2 rooms in 2 nights; POS machine out of order made me going out at 7 in the morning to look for an ATM. I would have expected some apologies or a nicer treatment after those problems but... More

This boutique hotel is truly an exceptional, extraordinary, incredible experience in itself. The staff are impeccable. The room we had was a fantasy in itself. Even the soaps and lotions are Italian. The location is wonderful - on a most beautiful street, close enough to the Tube, a little off the square (which has a fabulous department store, lots of... More

We stayed at San Domenico House for a special birthday treat and it didn't disappoint. The decor is traditional Italian antique and our room was beautifully appointed with a balcony overlooking Draycott Place. I loved the extra large comfortable bed. The service was excellent, understated but friendly. The location is perfect for visiting the King's Road, Sloane Square and attractions... More

This is a beautiful, unique and splendid hotel from which to explore Chelsea and the King's Road. The decor is stunning and the Italian styling throughout delivers a venue which is a joy to stay in. All but one of the staff are welcoming, warm and charming. The one sore thumb is the young Italian chap who is manning Reception.... More

I wanted to review this property while staying in it. This is how much I loved the experience at San Domenico House. We were hesitant before we booked this property as we are used to big hotel chains and never took the risk of trying something different. If anything, it was the best hotel choice I have done so far... More

Staying in Chelsea

Neighborhood Profile
Chelsea
Wealth courses through The King's Road, Chelsea's upmarket artery of West London life packed with shops, eateries and glitzy nightspots. For people-watching at its best and luxury retail therapy that's largely unrivalled, this area cannot be missed. But if this showy street starts to overwhelm or a moment of price tag shock sends you reeling, a quick detour down pretty much any of many King's Road veins will reveal a quieter side of Chelsea. Here the stately Royal Hospital hosts its world-famous flower show, and the Thames rolls along at a lazy pace, with leafy Battersea Park and its Peace Pagoda beckoning from across the river.
