I booked this hotel to do some creative writing and asked for an “inspiring” room if possible. The Hotel got back to me almost immediately not only fulfilling my requirements but surpassing them by upgrading me to the most exquisite room! I dealt with the kind and professional manager at the Hotel, Akil, who should be rewarded with a badge of excellence in delivering incredible customer service and a very personal experience from start to finish. I feel that good customer service and listening skills and indeed the desire to put the client first has been somewhat lost in today’s society but not by this manager who could not do enough to surpass all of my expectations! The hotel is beautiful and in a stunning location with loads of wonderful restaurants and shops! The decor in the hotel is gorgeous and was the reason I actually picked this one! Best customer service experience I’ve had in a hotel! Thank you Akil - you will go far! :)

I stayed at this hotel in 2012 and had a terrible experience (I wrote a review then), so I was guarded about staying there again. I ended up booking it for convenience, because the training program I was attending was happening there. What a difference. When I shared my previous experience with the front office/reservations staff, I was upgraded a room level with welcome treats, which was very nice. Loved the spacious room. A bit of dust on the nightstand. The best experience is the hotel's restaurant, in my opinion. I don't know who their chefs are, kudos to them. Avocado on toast, salmon, fresh healthy juices, etc at breakfast, you'll be spoilt for choice. There is a lady working in the bar and restaurant called Cecilia, who is a real asset to the hotel. She will be an asset anywhere she works. She is friendly, with an exuberant personality, displaying a palpable and genuine passion for her work. So refreshing, especially when great customer service is hard to come by these days. Thank you, Cecilia! The one drawback I find to this hotel, which had not changed since the first time I stayed there: the lifts. There are different lifts for various sections of the hotel, which can be confusing in itself. One tiny lift per section, so tiny that only about a maximum 3 people can fit in. And there are no separate service lifts, so imagine trying to fit into a lift with a hotel worker carrying work equipment... tight. And the lifts are so slow (no kidding), the slowest lifts I have been in. Tube station, fast food restaurants, and supermarket: all just round the corner from the hotel. Even if you are not staying at this hotel, I would recommend experiencing their excellent restaurant's offerings.

Dear ibarisma, We thank you for taking the time to share this important feedback with us at The Radisson Blu Edwardian Vanderbilt Hotel and awarding us 5 star. It is rewarding for us all to learn that you overall had a pleasant stay and your breakfast experience was the best. The entire restaurant team has received your feedback and specially Cecilia is thrilled and truly thankful for your encouraging feedback and this will only encourage her to further elevate the service standards to even higher levels. As you so rightly pointed out, we are indeed situated in an absolute prime location in the very heart of London, being just a few minutes walk away from tube stations for travelling links across the city and many more tourist attractions / restaurants just a stone throw away from the hotel. In regards to elevator the point is noted and we will ensure that necessary corrective actions are taken to improve our hotel experience. We greatly appreciate your kind feedback and hope it will not be too long before we get to welcome you back for another pleasant experience. Kind Regards, Akil Syed Front Office Manager

I wanted to just say thank you to Akil Syed - Front Office Manager who had been most helpful in organising the changes to my stay at another radisson collection hotel. I always opt to stay where possible at a Radisson as I am always assured of the warm and exuberance of the staff -wherever Radisson is. I feel and from experience, staying at a radisson (anywhere in the world) is always a good decision.

So I’m long overdue for this review, as I hadn’t been on Tripadvosor for a long time. I stayed at the Radisson Blue Edwardian Vanderbilt twice before. The first time was in dead winter in December 2010, when I was visiting a friend in London. I was initially supposed to stay with her for 8 days, but she had a last minute out of town trip for the last three days of my stay, so I had to find something. I wasn’t really keen on the extra expense, which is why it was so refreshing to find this hotel within my financial means, especially considering the good part of town it’s in and the luxury standing of it. I am afraid I don’t remember all the details of that first stay, but I recall being pleasantly surprised at the room size, which was neither too big nor too small. The bed was also nice as was the bathroom. What really cinched it for me was the staff, tho. Every single staff person - and I mean EVERY single one of them, the receptionists, the concierge, the restaurant wait staff, really everyone - was so incredibly nice, polite, helpful, and kind. I think I was even helped with my luggage up the few steps to the door if I remember correctly. I was actually rather sad that I stayed only such a short period of time back then. The good news was that I stayed here again in March 2017, this time with a friend. Again, the place was pretty darn affordable and came out to about 60 USD a nite or some such thing per person since we shared a room. And the staff was again excellent. Concierge and receptionist both knowledgeable and super friendly. The room was also a decent size again which was nice considering there were two of us. Oh, and the location is not only nice because it’s in a nice part of town. It’s also conveniently located close to the tube. So that is super for sight seeing. The only reason why I didn’t stay there the third time I was in London b/c that was high season, and at that point prices were a bit out of my range. But it is a luxury hotel, so that’s not surprising. Really, I can only recommend this place. PS. Review date says September 2019 b/c that’s her furthest I can go back In the options menu. As said I stayed here twice tho: December 2010 and March 2017. (I really need to do these reviews sooner!)
