Dukes London is celebrated for its traditional British charm and cozy ambiance, with guests often praising the hotel's cleanliness and elegant decor. While the famous bar and luxurious afternoon tea come highly recommended, some visitors suggest the rooms, albeit charming, could use modern updates and better A/C systems. The prime, yet secluded location is a hit among travelers, placing them close to attractions and offices.
Service generally receives accolades for being attentive, though it can vary. Opinions on value are split, with some guests feeling the experience justifies the cost, while others disagree.

Stayed here this week with a group of pals, what a 5☆ experience from we arrived till we left, we arrived early before check in so we left our bags with reception. They asked if they could do anything else to help very friendly, we arrived back before check in and were given the keys to our rooms, each room was different but fabulous, beautifully decorated and with a big window that was easily open for fresh air, some rooms had balconys
There was a safe in all of the rooms, bathrooms, toiletries all provided and beautiful. When we came back our room had been represented for us tidied and slippers by bed and complimentary water on bedside table, beds were so comfortable and each room has easily accessible air conditioning
Also a fridge in each room containing water and milk and cookies also in room lovely touch. Breakfast and service was absolutely fab the following morning and checkout was a breeze. Fantastic front of house staff and very helpful would highly recommend the DUKES special thanks to Dermot for all he did to make our getaway experience 5☆ experience.

We booked an exec king room. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Breakfast room is lovely and the food very good. The hotel is in a great location with Green Park tube about 5 mins walk away. Located in a quiet cul-de-sac and easy to find, with Piccadilly just around the corner. We used the hotel as a sightseeing base and it worked very well. We did not eat any meals other than breakfast so we cannot comment on that side. We did visit the bar for the signature Vesper Martini - lethal in alcoholic content so not for the faint hearted and at £22.50 per glass a definite treat!
The bedroom was comfortable offering excellent storage and the bathroom was a good size. Decor in the room was slightly tired ( including missing button cover on window seating) and at £500 per night, room only we were expecting more but the atmosphere and staff made up for it. An understated and subtle homely feel, not overly opulent and certainly not pretentious. Would definitely stay here again.

As someone whose budget normally stretches to a Premier Inn, I decided to push the boat out for my wife’s 40th birthday weekend and see how the other half lives.
From the first phone call when I booked, it’s just a completely different level of service. Polite, professional yet friendly seem to be the core values here.
I emailed Ruel, the concierge, some ideas for a few little extras to make the experience even more special for my wife and the effort he made really made the difference. It was lovely to actually get to meet him while we were there so I could thank him personally.
The room was very comfortable and spotless (although some TLC on the paintwork is required in a couple of spots). A nice bottle of Prosecco was on ice when we arrived and a lovely complementary birthday dessert had been provided which was a great touch. They’d even created a huge heart shape with rose petals on the bed. It all went down very well.
The only reason this is a four star review and not a five star one is the breakfast service. The breakfast itself was very nice (full English, cereal, fruit, yogurt, tea, pastries etc) but unfortunately the breakfast service was just too disorganised, with a few uncleared tables around and the table we sat at had no cutlery/napkins etc on it. The two people on service didn’t seem to have total control of the situation and we eventually had to flag one of them down to place our order and to ask for cutlery. A couple more staff were eventually roped in to steady the ship and it transpired that there was meant to be a third staff member on that day who was absent. It’s also worth noting that we turned up towards the end of the service.
However that was the only minor blot on an otherwise lovely stay and I’m glad I chose this hotel to spend this month’s mortgage payment on to mark this occasion.
Thank you Dukes, for a rare but much appreciated experience.

First, the cons - airplane loud AC worked, but drowned out everything else (TV, conversation). Next, the in-house restaurant is overpriced with average food and comically bad service. Oddly, the service in the hotel itself was fantastic; maybe they could share pointers at the staff meeting. Those 2 items were the main negatives for us.
Now for the pros! This is a lovely, classic boutique hotel, hidden on a quiet side street next to st James park. Ideal for staying in the heart of the city but very quiet for a good nights sleep (4th floor). Location is a short walking distance to so many iconic sights, and just 5 min from the Green Park tube station. There is a “ wormhole” pathway from the park to a street by the hotel, which cuts the walk to the station from 15min to 5min. Magic! Ask the front desk or use google maps. Btw, this station also has DIRECT service to Heathrow via the “Piccadilly” line which runs every 10min in the mornings. Super convenient. Also convenient is the M&S food store next to the station, a perfect place to grab wine and fridge snacks.
Don’t miss having a drink at the famous Dukes bar, it is plush and intimate with excellent cocktails. Either make a reservation early or plan to go when they open at 3pm. It fills up fast!
Overall, enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to book again.

My wife and I stayed at the DUKES London for 6 nights in March 2024. We had high expectations given the hotel reputation. Unfortunately, these expectations were far from getting met. Let's start with the lobby of the hotel. There is no lounge, just a couple of chair for people waiting for their transportation, right in front of the front desk. There are none of the touches that you would expect from a small boutique luxury hotel: no coffee, tea or water, just some bland apples. The room itself was a described but the bathroom was awkward. There is no outlet in the bathroom for the hairdryer (just for shaver). This means that in order to dry our hair, we had to do it in the room. However, the mirror access was blocked by a couch chair which made the whole experience, well, awkward. The shower water heat control was locked and we felt that the water was not warm enough for our taste. We asked for help from the front desk but nothing was done.
The thermostat in the room had a life on its own. Sometimes it would say 21 and the room felt very hot and sometimes it would say 24 and the room felt chilled. We tried to explain this to the front desk and all we got is someone showing up to our room to tell us the push the up and down buttons to change the temperature on the thermostat. Duh! We asked a second time and nothing was done.
The restaurant (GBR) where we had breakfast had a staff that ranged from the incompetent to the indifferent.
This was truly a very disappointing performance because we expected a small luxury boutique hotel experience. In my opinion that means all the small touches that defines luxury. None of it were present. We felt totally anonymous and ignored the way you would be in a business hotel. This is too bad because we really wanted to love DUKES London.
I will definitively not stay at DUKES London in my next trip to London. There are way too many better choices of hotel in this great city!

My opinion is full of paradoxes in light of the situation my daughter and I encountered.
It is undeniable to consider that this establishment, which is part of the chain of small and luxury hotels, is in a central and charming area.
A little surprising that the establishment when we arrived did not have hot water but above all did not take the trouble to contact me to explain the problem that they had encountered for many hours already.
The receptionist at reception is totally overwhelmed and unable to offer an alternative solution because she is so out of place.
It was only used to ask me every morning for the deposit and payment for my daughter's room that I had reserved later.
We ended up staying at the counter for more than an hour trying to move forward and find solutions.
I decide to stay and tell myself that in such a hotel, a solution should be found quickly.
Unfortunately for me and my daughter, I was not able to see hot water again during the 5 nights I spent in the hotel.
The first days I had to go to a nearby hotel to wash and then go wash in one of the hotel rooms which then had hot water.
I had the chance to meet one of the people at reception, Jose, who was of great help in this rather special situation.
For me the hotel has qualities but also faults such as catastrophic soundproofing.
I was talking about a paradox, given the disastrous situation, the hotel management offered us the price of the rooms while making us pay just the additional food costs and taxes.
A very nice gesture.

My wife and I visited Dukes for afternoon tea as part of celebrations for a significant milestone. We were located in the drawing room - an intimate and cosy space which we found ideal for the experience. Service was excellent all round with the wonderful Mercedes in particular looking after us for the afternoon. Her friendly, knowledgeable and 'nothing's too much trouble' attitude was first class.
I'm no 'foodie' and my comments will reflect that by simply saying the four course food offering was fantastic. Beautifully presented and very tasteful, I was full by the time the desert course came out!
Minor point, but given the overall quality of the hotel and its service, the gents facilities could do with a little TLC. For instance an overzealous paintbrush on the door frames and worn internal joints on the vanity surface would not take much to address to make them look 'first class smart'. Like I say, minor point.

My partner and I stayed at Dukes for a couple of nights and we hosted a small birthday tea party gathering in the drawing room. The staff were so attentive, helpful and personable and went the extra mile with some nice complimentary touches, in order to help me to celebrate his birthday. The food was very nice, as was our room, the bed linen in particular was beautifully laundered, and felt rather luxurious. So, we look forward to another opportunity to return.Dukes please resist any pressure to fill the hotel with flash and gawdy items, like many other London hotels seem to have done-don’t change anything.

Went here for afternoon tea, very luxurious and accommodating for dietary needs aswell. Very lovely staff and quintessentially British afternoon tea, with gorgeous jubilee additions too, it was absolutely deliciously stunning. The hotel is so grand and off the main track which was nice, away from the hustle and bustle. The only thing I would advise is if they ask if you want water, be brave and ask for tap water. Unless you of course want bottled water that is. We didn't, but we felt silly asking for tap water and ended up paying £12 for a bottle of still water. The table opposite asked for tap and they were more than happy to serve it. Just a small but hopefully helpful tip. A wonderful place to visit! Highly recommended

Afternoon tea disappointing, very expensive for what you receive. Daughter had vegan which she didn’t really enjoy the 4 small sandwiches she received. Got bottle of water which was suppose to be included but was charged £6 didn’t realise till I looked at bill once home. Unfortunately I had forgotten my glasses. Service not very professional girls giggling while serving. Total cost £231 for what I would say a very small afternoon tea, wasn’t offered anything extra. 3 of us wouldn’t recommend as not worth the money. Desert was probably the best part of it even then they weren’t anything special.

Yes it’s a very high end hotel
Not sure as not up on HP locations, but this hotel is in a beautiful location,so lovely to walk to and down a quiet little street if you use the Citymapper app it’s free and spot on for getting anywhere by tube taxi trains and what we really used the walk feature, use it when you arrive in London
You would have to contact Dukes about that, it didn’t occur to me! We arranged a private driver through JustAirports( see my review) did not have to prepay, driver was excellent approx £60 before tip, so nice to just walk through arrivals and have driver waiting for you
No on-site parking, but valet only. Worth the cost of valet parking to be in that location because you can walk everywhere from the hotel!
