First of all this property was absolutely outstanding at the front, and reception, amd also very clean in the communal areas and in the bedroom. But in my opinion, this should not be a 4 star hotel. The breakfast is very basic. In the room, there were elements that had a dated feel to it and some of the sockets were dodgy. We also had a leak from the bathroom above. All reported via telephone but no acknowledgement or update during our stay. There was no vegan option, and as noted on the menu, the hotel wpuld probably.not be able to guarantee allergy free food. The hotel is also very noisy from other guests, doors and floors above. Alotnof this could be dealt with to improve.
Blakemore Hyde Park London Faulty Trowels 855633504 Located in the filthy dirty Bayswater area of Hyde Park the Blakemore is a period building that on first glances looks elegant it is not until you check in that you uncover the truth. An executive room was our choice for a four night stay. Check in staff are gum chewing argumentative and unhelpful and not friendly. Front of house has been refurbished which if you like eating and drinking in reception and all and everyone in and out while your doing this is fine with the waft of breakfast right across reception. Back areas - lifts tiny and dirty and carpets possibly 1980s era that look tired and worn. Thick dust on ledges and fittings show that cleaning is not carried out correctly. Rooms As stated we had an executive room - I'd hate to see anything else as this was not good. Bathroom dark dingy with dust and dirty skin dead groutinging in the shower although everything worked - in desperately need of a deep clean and upgrade. Bedroom tv and remote did not work. Dated damaged furniture with stained carpet. Bed was comfortable fridge and safe OK again dusting missed clearly cleaning is at the bottom of the "important" things with staff describing management as "slave drivers" I had attempted to communicate with management whom were not very forthcoming and it took a lot of effort to get a response. This hotel is independently run as part of the "starcrown"group run by the "gurtata's" and it shows Assessed as very poor and no more than a B and B with a nice entrance.…
Do not stop here. Massively over priced. Not a particularly safe location at night. Very unhelpful and unprofessional. They refused to tell me the check in time because I declined to pay the early check-in. Then refused to answer any of my emails. They gave me the wrong room. The cards need to be constantly reactived which meant regular trips to reception. Bathrooms were dated. House keeping seemed to do a decent job, but that about the only praise I can give. Absolutely dreadful hotel and management. Arguably one of the worst Ive stayed at, and I am a regular business traveler.
Overall good stay but a few minor details let the hotel down . Towel rail in bathroom is too high to reach, doesn’t take into account anybody staying on their own or without a tall partner . Bedroom very hot, although air conditioning did kick in after a while and made it manageable. Finally on checking out we asked if we could leave our luggage and was amazed at being asked to pay a small fee to use this facility.
Lovely place to stay , clean, price very good to stay the night, staff very friendly and helpful. Rooms lovely and clean and bed nice . Breakfast abit pricey for what you got , menu limited and small choice. Would.stay again but without breakfast
I’ve stayed her before with my daughter and as we loved this hotel we decided to go back, the blond receptionist was so lovely 5 * for her customer service , the room was very pleasant unfortunately the bath plug was broken and the water was very temperamental along with the toilet flush. The breakfast was ok but eggs where freezing like they had sat there for an hour. And mushrooms tasted like perfume. We checked out quite early so we took our bags over 1 case 1 bag and a carrier bag. We where then informed we had to pay £1 each for bags £2 in total and cash only. I’ve stayed here before and never been charged bag storage in a hotel in my life. Found this service quite disappointing. The hotel is in a lovely location and beautiful inside but just found this to be a little greedy.…
We stayed in this hotel for 3 nights. First night was terrible as the aircon is not working and the staff was very kind to change and upgrade the room for us. The last day when we checked out before 11am, the front desk staff extorted us £10 and it has to be in cash as we have 8 baggage in order for the hotel to keep our baggage. In addition and she asked us why we don’t know how to pack light when we travel. I would not recommend my love ones as I have never been extorted for money in any hotel to keep my baggage before.
The breakfast was really good! All the classic english breakfast components, as well as those classic buffet breakfast foods. Very good food. The room was really nice and clean and the location is amazing (really close to the underground, Hyde Park and other attractions) The only not such a good thing is that you could hear almost everything inside the room (talking inside and outside the hotel, closing of the doors...). But if that doesn't bother you, I would recommend!
Absolutely perfect stay! All the staff are lovely and helpful! We felt very welcome when we arrived, everyone was smiling and greeting us. The room was lovely with everything you need and the room service was excellent! Everything refreshed and replenished, room was spotless! The bar area and terrace are great. I totally recommend this hotel, we were so pleased with it and felt very welcome! Thank you Blakemore!
Overpriced hotel not ideally located if you’re attending an event in Hyde Park like BST or Winter-wonderland, there are better located more reasonably priced hotels closer. Very small room, with an uncomfortable bed mattress and the bath/shower is very slippery- beware as no shower mat
