Stayed here numerous times in the past but this hotel is no longer what it used to be. Staff were less than friendly on arrival. Had to struggle up the stairs with a suitcase on arrival. There was no doorman or any offer of assistance. Supplies in the room were only for one person and had to ask for extra tea bags, biscuits and milk daily. The mattress was tired. Towels and linen were of a lower standard. It seems that cost cutting has taken place. Good but not great.

Highlights: - luggage room UNSAFE (not guarded, no security camera); - everyone can access the luggage room with a ticket (a normal piece of paper you can easily print at home) and take a random bag (the staff doesn't verify); - the staff and manager reported false facts to avoid giving me the right compensation. - hotel quality: old room, dirty moquette, old bathroom. Stayed in this hotel at the the end of October, 2019. At our arrival, the receptionist invited us to store our luggages in the luggage room until the room was ready. I had a bag with a laptop and an iPad Pro, so I asked if the luggage room was safe: they told me it was locked and only staff could have access to it. I trusted them and I left 4 bagges (2 trolleys, 1 backpack and 1 bag with laptop and ipad pro), they gave me 4 numbered tickets to get them back later. We went to have lunch and after a couple of hours we came back, gave tickets to the receptionist and went to the room waiting for the luggages. The receptionist came to the floor with 4 pieces: our 2 trolleys, my backpack and a black jacket. I told her there was a mistake and the jacket wasn't mine. She went down to take the right bag and after 20 minutes she call me to go down to search with her: the bag wasn't there, someone took it. We immediately traced the ipad and we saw it at about 20 minutes walking from the hotel, but after 1 minute the signal was lost. I called the police and make the complaint: the officer asked if the hotel had a security camera in the luggage room and he was very (badly) surprised when I told him that the hotel had many security cameras but NOT IN THE LUGGAGE ROOM (the most "valuable" room of the whole building). I asked to speak with the manager, Agnes, but I was able to speak with her only by email, she didn't came to have a single word with me face to face. The police went to the hotel and investigated after I came back to Italy, I was not there so the manager and staff had the opportunity to tell them what they wanted, with no contradictory: in fact, they told them that I gave only THREE tickets to the receptionist so the fault was mine and that probably I lost a ticket outside the hotel and someone found it. There are two problems with their false statement: 1) Why did the receptionist brought to our room FOUR pieces if I had given her only three tickets? Why did she go down and searched my bag for 20 minutes if there was no ticket proving that I was waiting for one more piece? The reason is that I gave FOUR tickets (I have a witness, too) and no one contested this fact until they spoke to the police alone, taking advantage of my absence. 2) How could a stranger give the receptionist only ONE ticket claiming a bag of which he didn't know the color or the content? The fact is they let him enter the luggage room (that was supposed to be accessible only to the staff) and let him choose the bag he wanted. A laptop bag is easy to recognize among backpacks and trolleys so he "chose" it. I lost € 2.500 and the hotel refused to give me any compensation, knowing that hiring a lawyer from Italy is far more expensive than the total value of my computers. Room quality: old room, dirty moquette, old bathroom. Not a 4 star hotel.

Dear Guest Thank you for your comments. As you know we were in direct contact with yourself back in November 2019 where we explained all the steps taken and decision which was made. We took your report very seriously and after carefull checks, interviewing staff and CCTV recordings we had to involve the Police for further investigation. As you are aware they came to premises. After watching a full cctv footage and Police advise we did not had any proof that the laptop was stolen and we advised you accordingly. We apologise that this response does not meet your expectation hovewer we followed the procedures and all was done in professional way to solve this problem.

I stayed here for my birthday trip as the Crown Plaza was booked, which I where I normally stay. The hotel is extremely dated and smells old. The breakfast was not worth the add it, greasy hashbrowns and sausages, frozen pastries etc. My boyfriend mentioned to the staff that we were celebrating my birthday and they left a card in the room. The only redeeming factor was that I was able to send a package to the hotel with some new boots ahead of the trip. I would not recommend this hotel, especially for an extended stay. It’s close to the Gloucester station.

We arrived around 10am and check in time is 3pm we were offered to keep our luggages by the bell man and he was so nice,so went to walk around outside and ate lunch.we went back around 1pm and we took a nap at the lobby by the coach and around 1:30pm front desk agent came to us and she said we can check in early.the room was so clean the only problem was the room was too hot and the windows were propped open,the bathroom was clean but the tub is too high it’s too risky for older people coz when u get off from the tub if your feet are wet,there’s a tendency that you will trip and fall.and they don’t put wash cloths in the bathroom.staff from the bar was nice,I needed a bottle opener to open a beer that we bought from sansbury store he let me take it to the room.our last night I had some food need to be heated,front desk told me to go to the restaurant.they are about to close,as soon as the nice server saw me,she told me she can heat the food for me,then offered me a plate and silverwares to carry with me.they really take care of their guests.i would recommend this hotel and will be back
