This hotel meets all needs for the price. Continental breakfast, bar, housekeeping and computer are excellent. Breakfast area is crowded, at least from 8:40 to 10 am on weekends--much lighter during the week. The Lobby areas are free and available at all times. The bartender offers drinks at very reasonable prices. The location can't be beat--a few minutes from Bayswater...

First, the hotel is indeed extremely well located. Even if it's your first time in London and you're coming from Heathrow, it's a 20min walk from Paddington Train Station (where the heathrow express arrives, directly from the airport) to the hotel lobby. After that, you have three lines from the subway/underground/tube service a couple of minutes away. Shopping mall/ pharmacy/market...

This was a good place to stay, but I was glad i had very little luggage as the room was small. However, that said, it was clean and warm and snug. The breakfast was good, the hotel and location was quiet and the staff did their job as expected. The bed was a little hard, but otherwise I was happy.

Stayed here on a visit to London with my daughter to see Lion King and do some Christmas shopping! The hotel was a wonderful surprise as I never have high expectations from London hotels. We had a room on the ground floor to the front with a huge bay window. We booked a twin but the room actually had 3...

Fantastic location just a 5 minute walk from Kensington Park. Comfortable bed and quiet location means great nights sleep! Didn't have breakfast as I slept in! Friendly staff, lovely hotel would definitely stay again!

I just spend one of the worst nights ever in this hotel! Luckily we had only booked for one night, but had we booked for more nights, we would have left after one night anyway. We got this very very tiny room on the first floor. We could not pass each other by the bed, so little room ad we...

I stay often in London for business. The Phoenix fits the bill perfectly for me. The staff are most helpful while the prices are as good as one can find in central London, a notoriously overpriced city as a rule. The convenience of the Phoenix is exemplary. The location is perfect while the peace and quite of the hotel are...

I had read many reviews before visiting this hotel and was excited that we had found what was described as a little gem in the city! True to form this hotel is just around the corner from Bayswater tube station and has an abundance of shops, restaurants, bakeries and chemists at the end of its road! Yet secluded enough from...

I was in London to attend a dinner on a Saturday evening, travelling on my own and found this hotel through booking.com. It is located near Bayswater tube station with several shops, cafes and restaurants close by. My single room (115) was small but adequate; the continental breakfast was fine and the cost was modest by London standards. I would...

Staying in Notting Hill

Neighborhood Profile
Notting Hill
As West London's friskiest corner, Notting Hill more than manages to retain plenty of the same appeal that's brought the affluent area so much worldwide attention. In this attractive cobblestoned neighborhood, a delectable variety of eateries, independent shops, galleries and street vendors offer a delightful window into how to live the good life in London, with each presenting visitors with an experience that's a little more idiosyncratic and endearing than the last. Travelers looking to forage for antiques should be sure to visit the Portobello Road Market on Saturdays, the largest antiques market in the United Kingdom.
