The hotel is extremely tired and in dire need of refurbishing, the breakfast was very basic, this combined with the overall facilities should only be classed as a 2*. On a positive note the reception staff were excellent and the location of the hotel was right on the edge of Hyde Park.

Shockingly run down, grubby and smelly. We had 2 double rooms both were awful. Breakfast was atrocious and not worth getting up for. Bedroom and ensuite had broken furniture and fixtures, and the tiles were black mouldy. Even the front of the hotel is rundown with peeling paint so we were worried even before we went in. Would never recommend not return

We stayed in this hotel last week, our room was appalling! So bad, that we only stayed one night although we had booked for 3 nights. The bathroom was dirty, the shower was too hot to use and the ceiling looked like it was about to collapse! The bedroom was very dusty, carpet ripped, fridge smelt disgusting. We reported this and were told that they knew the shower needed fixing but failed to tell us! The good side was that the male receptionist was very helpful with sorting out our money back for the 2 nights we did not stay, but we still had to pay full price for the first night! The hotel is so different to the description and photos on it’s website!

This is an honest review. Covid has hit businesses hard and negative reviews don't often help, but the negative reviews on here are mostly but sadly true. Location Location is fantastic. Next to Hyde Park, tube station right across the street and plenty bus stops too. Convenience shops nearby and a pub just around the corner. Hotel Sadly the hotel doesn't look like any of the photos on the website. It is so tired and run down. Externally it looks lovely but inside resembles the land that Time forgot.. The staff were lovely and friendly and cannot be faulted. We had a room on the second floor. 2 adults and one child. Room was large with x3 single beds. The dressing table had not been cleaned out and still had sanitary towels within. No big deal but shows the extent of the cleaning process. The dressing table was covered with ants. This may have been due to the extremely hot weather but really not a great experience. The carpet in the room was worn and had holes in it..the bathroom was tired and dated and not very clean. Lovely clean towels but not replaced in the 3 days we stayed. Even when we left them on the floor to be lifted. They lifted them and never replaced. Beds were comfortable and bedding was clean. Breakfast Absolutely terrible Breakfast. We used on the 1st day but really really basic with no option of juice and water jug empty. Our 9 year old had to go without a drink as the only option is tea or coffee. Not a big deal as we had juice with us (but possibly juice could be introduced) we never returned for breakfast again. This was by no means the hotel that is advertised online. Other than location everything else was pretty poor. This was not a budget price either. If we hadn't had so much planned over our 3 days, meaning we really were only sleeping there, I probably wouldn't have stayed. If you are just looking for somewhere to sleep then this hotel is fine but for the same price or maybe paying a little extra there will be far better hotels than this one. I usually don't pay much attention to negative reviews as everyone's views on something can be exaggerated but sadly ALL of the negative reviews are honest ones.

Stayed for 2 nights. I was expecting a lovely hotel as it wasnt a budget price. and the web site looked lovely. Location was great, across the road from Hyde Park - Italian Gardens and not far from the Peter Pan Statue., and just yards from Lancaster Gate tube. The public areas are best described as shabby. The mats on top of the stairs were threadbare and trip hazards. Decor dated and tatty. Room was ok, Nice clean bedding and comfortable. bed. Bathroom was also ok with nice clean fluffy towels. There was plentyof tea and coffee provided, a hairdryer and a small fridge. We had a blacony but it was filthy, cigarette ends allover the floor and an empty drink can that was there when we arrived and still there after the room was cleaned on day 2 . The breakfast was really bad. Poor quality ingredients actually the worst breakfast I have experienced in ahotel. No bar and no on site restaurant , not that I would have used them after seeing the breakfast. The staff were friendly and helpful.

I stayed at this hotel 20 years ago because of its old English charm and great location. However, hardly anything has been kept up. The awnings outside are filthy. The outside garden, dinner service, and bar are not in service. (The website is not up-to-date.) The rooms were clean but the bathrooms were unsafe, especially for older people. The hallway rugs are tattered and the breakfast is very basic. I had to pump about 25 times to get a cup of coffee out of the Cambro container. There was a nice guy who worked the desk and was trying to accommodate everyone. I had emailed to request a cot for an additional traveler and no one responded. I asked for help again and our request was forgotten when the night clerk came on. My daughter had to sleep on the floor for 2 nights! Whoever is in charge of this hotel needs to spend some money to update it. I was very disappointed and won't recommend it to anyone.

Awful hotel, really dirty, run down and not worth the cost. Although it’s close to the underground and Hyde Park, I wouldn’t advise anyone to stay here. It needs closing down and refurbishing. The breakfast was inedible. The water jug had dirt floating around in it. It bears no resemblance to the photos on the website.

Hotel was perfectly adequate. It’s not top notch but both the hotel and room was clean. There was free parking in their car park and it is a two minute walk to get to Hyde park so it is in an amazing location if you are visiting that area. We drove there and the hotel is easy to find.

Myself and my daughter stayed here given the location the hotel is situated in. And I have to say I would now avoid staying again unless the hotel undergoes a serious refurbishment and face-lift. Its absolutely so run down, badly dated, old, not very clean, and seriously lacking so much that other hotels offer. Definitely not worth the money that it's charging on booking sites. The hotel has so much potential if it was modernised and brought up to date. But at this current time it should not be allowed to be welcoming guests who have paid alot of money to stay. Breakfast is very, very, basic and awful!!! Only offering toast, bread rolls, eggs (if there was any left), sliced ham, sliced cheese, and fruit. No juice despenser, and the tables in the dinning room were never cleaned properly. Our room was on the very top 4th floor, the door was awful hard to open due to the lock sticking, carpet was dirty with marks on it, and was actually lifting in some places, windows absolutely filthy, furniture horrible and badly dated. The shower in the bathroom wasn't very plesent at all and the tiles very yucky. A massive gap under our hotel door which is against fire safety regulations in the case of a fire. Although we didn't spend much time in the hotel, (nor would we have wanted to) it definitely isn't worth the money to stay there and definitely I feel should be closed down and refurbished from top to bottom. Has the making of a fantastic hotel if brought up to date. But for now I definitely would not recommend this hotel at this time and would avoid staying here again unless major changes are made.

Before I booked this hotel I looked at pictures on their website, and thought looks nice! Well how disappointing was we when we arrived!! Room 447 looked nothing like rooms I had viewed! To be honest none of the hotel looked like it does in the pictures!!! Needs decorating from top to bottom! Small bathroom with shower door that was broken! Where tiles had come off wall it looked like just been filled with grout! Room was so hot with only a ceiling fan which done nothing!! Moving onto the breakfast don’t get excited as this wasn’t much better toast sweaty cheese tomato pastry coffee tea!! The prices they charge to stay here is appalling! I actually only took 2 pics as I was embarrassed of where I was staying! Minus 3 star this should be given!!!
