An oasis of elegance and calm after a day out in the city with friendly staff wanting to assist you in anyway they can. The restaurant Alyn Williams is a quiet, comfortable and sophisticated space broken only by conversation and the contemplation of the taster menu gorgeous food and wine. Breakfast is excellent too and taken in the restaurant. The...

Pros Location Cons Everything else Was taken here for a treat and was so called double upgraded. The room was obviously not renovated situated at the back of the hotel. How on earth is this hotel 5*.Tiny room with horrid furniture and a very small bathroom with dreadful toiletries.Noisy plumbing and poor soundproofing with antiquated a/c. As many reviewers have stated...

The Westbury has one of the greatest locations in London. The rooms are very well appointed, tidy with classy bathrooms. The quality of sleep is high and the room standard size is very good compared to some European standards. The safe is a bit oldish but maybe this comes with a retro touch of the room. Sadly the wifi is...

This hotel resides in a prime location in terms of shopping; if you are more into sight-seeing, I would recommend you to stay away from the Westbury. The amenities in the rooms were wonderful, everything excellent and clean. The continental breakfast was okay, but for an extra few pounds you could eat a normal breakfast of your choice (eggs, bacon,...

Was quiet apprehensive about this hotel as had read a number of negative reviews. On arrival we were greeted by friendly staff and we were upgraded to a junior suite although this was still not much bigger than a room in other hotels we have stayed in. The room was nicely decorated and had a lovely bathroom. The bed was...

Good service and great location, rooms a little cold and pillows way to soft for us but they did replace on the second night. No free wifi which is surprising for a 5 star. Would recommend booking a table in the Polo bar if you want cocktails as difficult to get seated due to non staying guests. All in all...

I booked an upgraded room, but it was small and no better equipped than a normal room. The shower pressure was pitiful, and the bathroom tiny. I had lunch which consisted of a tiny plate of iberica ham, a diet coke and a coffee and the bill was over £30! The location is central, just off Regent's street but it's...

My wife and I stayed at the westbury for a few nights and as we sit here waiting to check out, I must say this was one of our best hotel stays ever. From the towel warmers to the free handy cellphone with a data package that we could take and use around London, not one detail was overlooked. It...

The Westbury is perfectly located just off Regent street and a stones throw from some of London's finest shops and restaurants, but I'm struggling to find any other positives apart from the location. First of all the communication between reservations and myself was terrible. I asked for interconnecting rooms, I don't think they have them as we didn't get them,...

I spent three nights in this hotel recently. It was relaxing and comfortable. I was upgraded to a room on the fourth floor which overlooked Conduit Street. It was lovely. Gorgeous bed linen. The only negative thing....I really wish that they provide free wifi in the rooms. I wanted to read emails etc on my iPad and wasn't really needing...

Staying in Mayfair

Neighborhood Profile
Mayfair
Set beside some of London's best parks and home to world-class galleries, luxurious hotels, and famed thoroughfares, the ultra upscale Mayfair is one of London's most exclusive haunts. Here the shopping is haute, the dining is exquisite, and the nightlife is vibrant. A casual stroll through the area’s chic streets will reveal that Michelin stars and chauffeured cars are practically the norm here. Even if you're on a tight budget, this exceptionally well connected swath of Central London is worth exploring, if only for the chance to take a peak at the goings on of upper crust English society.
