Clean, nicely appointed hotel right on Leicester Square, perfect for theatre, National Gallery, dining etc. Good value for money for this location. Originally booked for the Bloomsbury Hotel, closer to the British Museum, but the booking was transferred to Leicester Square. Overall we were happy and would stay here again if we were going to the theatre, but the Bloomsbury venue would still be our preference for the trip we had planned centered on Holborn area.
Top marks on excellent service, comfort and quality of all amenities. Stayed on the upper floors (back of hotel) which had great views of the London Eye, Nelson's Column, Big Ben (although under refurbishment currently - Dec 2020) which made up for not been able to secure the Leicester Square view (front of hotel rooms). All the staff were very friendly and professional. The breakfast was delicious and copious which meant we didn't have to eat until dinner time
I write this with a heavy heart because i had a lovely stay at the Hampshire, the staff were extremely welcoming, the hospitality great, couldn’t fault it. The location is of course fabulous. But beware practices of the company working with agents such as Booking.com. Their app quoted a special price of £140 which seemed fabulous value but when you book it the price goes up by 39% to £195. The price doesn’t change until the payment screen, and without any explanation or reason. I contacted booking.com with a screen shot but they said it was too late to raise (2 days later) and cut me off. I wasn’t even asking for a refund! I contacted Radisson to give them feedback but they said yeah it happens a lot and they cut me off too. So it’s a shame that after a great stay I am left angry and dissatisfied, leaving bad feedback, but hotels shouldn’t be allowed to get away with this sort of thing. It is sharp practice. The hotel was worth £195 for the night but at no price should there be deception involved to get a booking And if the local Hotel manager reads this, I am sorry, your Hotel and Staff Are Great but have been let down by the Group so I’m unlikely to visit again. Oh, and best line of the stay at breakfast - I’m sorry we don’t have Brown Toast because of COVID and manual handling - it was hilarious and I prefer white toast anyway. …
I highly recommend any one who is looking for that special place to stay. The staff here will go above and beyond for guests, the high quality of their food and drinks even down to the tea leaves they use here are amazing, the tea is what made me stay here. If it wasn't for this covid going around I would be back there again, I hope to be staying with you again at some point.
We upgraded to stay here as we only stayed one night but our rooms were upgraded on arrival along with complementary prosecco The staff were very helpful and bent over backwards to help - to be fair this may have been due to them being unusually quiet due to covid19 but cannot fault them for that Rooms very comfortable and clean Would stay again - location is superb
