Had a fantastic 2 night stay - cannot recommend this hotel enough - great location, good facilities and great staff - especially Poppy and Shane who looked after us at breakfast - they were brilliant.
Ive been coming to this hotel for Business and more recently with my family and it’s a real pleasure to stay. Always a warm welcome on arrival, the usual delicious warm cookie and some water for the room. The hotel is newly refurbished to a really high standard and they’ve made an effort to give you options of different room types from a Fitness room (yes, your own gym in your bedroom) to a Wellness room (full of various things to help you relax). Ive tried both and they are excellent. My last visit was with the family, connecting rooms if you want them are available. The staff made so much effort to ensure we had a great time and were always on hand to help us with drinks, food and also recommendations for restaurants to visit in the local area. Breakfast buffet is excellent with various continental and hot options available and you can now help yourself! The bar is well stocked and in this weather you can sit at the outside tables and enjoy your drinks… Eva is on hand to make sure your glass is always full. Even with all the restrictions I can’t compliment all the team enough as they try in every way to make your stay perfect. The hotel is close to Angel tube so easily accessible to allow you to get round London as a base and Islington high street has a great vibe going on. Thanks to Peadar, Mikel and all the team, we’ll be back very soon.…
Check in not very well organised, arrived to drop bags off at 9am and told check in is from 2pm. We arrived back at 3pm to be told our room was still not ready, I complained about the fact 2pm is check in time and then they suddenly had a room ready for me. No bottled water in the hotel for quest, each time I asked they kept saying it was arriving later that day, now on 4th day and still none. Cups in the room were stained, had to clean them before use. On one day the executive lounge was not open due to maintenance so I asked at the bar adjacent for coffee and was told they could not supply this. For a stay where we paid over £1200 for I feel these issues should and could of been resolved easily.
A nice welcome and my cases were stored whilst I attended a meeting. My room was clean and neat but cold …. The controls complicated and non responsive @ 1am I called reception…. They sent a chap who didn’t speak English and had no knowledge of the system. Eventually they altered the settings from the front desk …. This happened again the following day …. And again the last evening !! The heating system was noisy didn’t work and caused discomfort and frustration…. And at £230 a night I expect better. Breakfast was basic over cooked and cold so didn’t both again…. However the staff were very obliging.
Lovely hotel, with great customer service and the cookie on check in was very welcomed. Breakfast was busy but staff were always helpful and seated us no problem! Great location and will definitely stay again
While the facilities and food could not be faulted, the customer service, house keeping and front of house fell short. The member of staff who checked us in was in no way engaging and was showing more interest in continuing her conversation with their colleague. We had added a day to our original booking and this would continue to be an issue across our stay. On our 2nd day our room was not serviced And we had no fresh towel after a long day in London I brought this to the the attention of a different staff Member who assured me if would be attended that day and even wrote our room number down On our return late that night, the same again. No clean towels and the room hadn’t been attended to. I contacted the front desk by home and after an apology, they tried to justify the lack of application was due to the fact that a Premiership team was staying at the hotel and they took presidece. …
Overall a good place with nice rooms and good cleaning. Breakfast spread is limited but was adequate for business trip. Corridors can get noisy if you have lot of movements and loud guests, had some trouble sleeping with the late night football fans. Service is poor, struggled to get through to room service. Overall, a no hassle stay good for business trip, not recommended for leisure.
We stayed at the Doubletree by Hilton at Kings Cross. The staff were amazing and helpful throughout our stay. The manager went above and beyond to bring my 2 daughters a pencil and complimentary drink to make us feel welcome. Room was clean and more than enough for 2 adults and 2 children. We had a fantastic 2 days in London and can’t recommend this hotel enough.
Booked online for 2pm access to the room however it was not ready when I arrived. Given a free cookie and access to an alternative room at 3:15pm. Room was clean and tidy. Shower was rubbish with low water pressure and it strangely stop working altogether when the hand held shower head was lowered to waist line and below. This was a major disappointment. Following day returned to my room at 9:30am from a run and found my access key did not to work. Reception confirmed their system had wiped it clean. They then had to reprogram it to allow me to return to my room. Nice hotel but the three incidents make me question whether I want to stay there next time when I am in the area.
Couldn't really find fault. Traveling with my partner and 4yr old I wanted a good size family room, which can be hard to find in London. We found the room to be of good size and very clean with modern decoration. Staff were helpful and friendly. Bar food was good and kids menu was of good value for London. Only small criticism would be that there wasn't much choice of cereal or fruit at breakfast
