South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.

The Nadler Kensington offered our family of three a great home base for our trip to London. Rooms in Europe are smaller than those in North America, as most of us from there know, but our room was just the right size for us. We did bring quite a bit of luggage, so that took over some of the room's real estate - and thus having to step over our things - but our Superior Room (with King and sofa bed) was fine. The sofa bed was already opened up and made for us at arrival, and I slept like a baby in it, finding it fairly comfortable and importantly, non-squeeky, which is always a fear. I had ordered some flowers from a local shop to be in our room to surprise our daughter upon our arrival, and the hotel took care of this flawlessly. Not a lot of amenities (no restaurant or fitness, etc) at the hotel due to the property size, and this helps with the reasonable pricing for the room itself I guess, but you can order breakfast delivered to the room daily. A Paul patisserie (you will become familiar with these throughout London) is just a block away. The hotel itself had an upscale feel and was very clean. There must be a good amount of sound deadening in the walls and ceilings because we didn't hear a peep from other rooms. Yes, there is a small lift (which might not be apparent if you search hotel pictures) but we opted to take the stairs as one tends to eat a bit on vacation. Air conditioning was robust and effective. Bathrooms are updated and sleek. We had a small stainless kitchenette with a fridge, sink, coffee maker. The Earl's Court (closest Underground) neighbourhood is quite bustling, but the hotel's location is a block removed from the main street and pretty quiet for the most part. We were also able to easily walk 15 minutes to either the Natural History or Victoria and Albert museums. We all really enjoyed this hotel and feel we got a good amount of comfort and great location on our stay.

Dear Dan, Thank you for your amazing, and detailed review of our hotel following your family trip to London. We were delighted to help arrange flowers to welcome your daughter to London, it was a very nice gesture and we hope she liked them! We work with local partners, including a gym, and a wide variety of restaurants, all offering exclusive discounts for guests of Nadler hotels. Not only does this allow for more reasonable rates at the hotel, it encourages our guests to get to know the neighborhood, and really feel like residents in one of London's Royal Boroughs. We put a lot of focus on providing our guests with everything they need for a comfortable stay in London, from kitchenettes in each room to our partnerships with local businesses, everything is done with to give you, our guest, a wider range of options so you can make the most out of your time in the city. We are thrilled you enjoyed your stay, now that you've found your London home, there is no need to wait another 17 years before returning! Warm regards, Brendan Hotel Manager

Our room was spotlessly clean as was the whole hotel. We found the staff very helpful and friendly. It was good value for money in my opinion and a far better option than one of the bigger hotel chains. It had a boutique feel and I wouldn't hesitate recommending it - a great stay and we will be back!

you go to Earl's Court/Kensington which is a little further from the central area but quick on the tube to get anywhere. We paid approximately $250 CAD per night and the room is very small and fits a double and is very efficient with a fridge, place to hang clothing, tv and bathroom with shower. It's clean and the entry is very nice and modern. Think more high end dorm room with a double bed, small desk and very nice staff. You do not get a bar or luxuries of a hotel. They will serve you some snacks if you order it and the service is terrific. To get something efficient and that is what it is, it's clean and simple and not much room but well priced.

The Kensington Nadler is a quiet and elegant boutique hotel located in the convenient Kensington area. We were a short walk to the Earls Court tube station, and were able to get to all sights easily. Many restaurants of all types within walking distance. I felt very secure, the front desk is manned 24 hours a day, a room card is needed to get into front entrance, and there was a safe in the room. The staff was very friendly and helpful. While the room was not large, it was set up nicely with a little kitchenette, desk, and large screen tv. There were dishes, utensils, even wine glasses provided. There was wifi that was specific to our room, secure and fast. The towels and linens were high end, and they gave me extra pillows as I asked. Daily maid service was efficient and unobtrusive.
