We stayed in room 604 just round the corner from reception desk, our room was very small but very clean and everything we needed for a weekend stay. Staff especially the young gent on reception was very polite and helpful arranging cabs and making suggestions for us. Breakfast could be better but was perfectly adequate and there for a free... Apart from the manager not willing to accept Scottish money I have no complaints about this hotel. Room lovely and adequate, breakfast great, because we booked direct we got free upgrade to cooked breakfast. Able to store bags and check in early. Highly recommend.

We stayed here for a couple of nights to see the new year in. On arrival the lady at the front desk did not present us with the most welcoming expression but she dealt with us in an otherwise professional manner. The hotel room itself was on the top floor and the room although comparable to others I have stayed... More

I stayed at this hotel last week while I was on business for two days, and I could not have been more surprised at the quality of it. Though it's in Kensington Gardens, my room was appalling. Some of the electrical outlets didn't work, and the bathroom looked like it belonged in a bus station in the Soviet Union. The... More

Central location at Paddington, good and fast wifi. Staff was friendly and helpful. Room was rather small, but it's quite common everywhere in London. The selection of at breakfast should be bigger, they run out of egg.

My friend booked the hotel on my behalf. The hotel is a Victorian townhouse decorated with British vintage items. This is a family run guesthouse on a quiet location. Very near to Bayswater tube station and just 10 minutes walk to Portobello road and its famous market. All rooms include desks, TV and free Wifi. A simple buffet breakfast included.... More

I live in Oxford but work several days of the week in Bayswater. Some years ago I was looking around for a good value hotel in the area, close to my office, in which I could stay for a couple of nights a week. I was fortunate to discover the Garden Court, which fulfilled all my desired criteria: it represents... More

I read a review of this hotel that complained that as a single they were given a basement room. I knew I wouldn't be spending long in the room, so if that was the case it wasn't going to be a problem. I was given a basement room, but it was spotless, with a small but immaculate bathroom. It had... More

We needed to book a last minute, one night stay in London on a budget. I read a few reviews and was a bit dubious about this hotel but I'm glad we booked. We had a double room with a travel cot. The room was modern and clean and had a new looking ensuite. There were lovely clean fluffy towels... More

Staying in Notting Hill

Neighborhood Profile
Notting Hill
As West London's friskiest corner, Notting Hill more than manages to retain plenty of the same appeal that's brought the affluent area so much worldwide attention. In this attractive cobblestoned neighborhood, a delectable variety of eateries, independent shops, galleries and street vendors offer a delightful window into how to live the good life in London, with each presenting visitors with an experience that's a little more idiosyncratic and endearing than the last. Travelers looking to forage for antiques should be sure to visit the Portobello Road Market on Saturdays, the largest antiques market in the United Kingdom.
