Notting Hill
As West London's friskiest corner, Notting Hill more than manages to retain plenty of the same appeal that's brought the affluent area so much worldwide attention. In this attractive cobblestoned neighborhood, a delectable variety of eateries, independent shops, galleries and street vendors offer a delightful window into how to live the good life in London, with each presenting visitors with an experience that's a little more idiosyncratic and endearing than the last. Travelers looking to forage for antiques should be sure to visit the Portobello Road Market on Saturdays, the largest antiques market in the United Kingdom.

Sure, hotels in London are not cheap in general, but that said you get what you pay for at the Garden Court Hotel. Our room was clean, and the bed was good and large; nothing to complain about there. A water boiler and tea/coffee can be found in the rooms. Our room was next to the elevator shaft, so it was a bit noisy when people came back in the evening sometimes. If you don't go to bed early and don't want to sleep in (why would you, you are here to visit the city) it's fine. In general the walls seem a bit thin and you can hear the louder guests in other rooms. The breakfast was included and did not offer a tremendous choice but enough to get you started in the day. The staff was friendly and helpful. I would rate it something between 3 and 4 points. I would book it again for the next visit.

I stayed for three nights and chose this hotel as it was cheaper than a Premier Inn. Room was small but ideal for somewhere just to sleep. Bathroom was tiny and not particularly practical - once you showered the whole room was wet, but this was the only downside. Glad for the addition of a fan and free WiFi. Would definitely return in the future the location is ideal and the price reasonable for central London.

Stayed at the Garden Court for seven nights. Excellent choice if you are looking for a high quality basic hotel. Rooms (including bathrooms) have been recently updated. Room was very clean and in excellent condition. Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was basic but good. The location is fantastic. Wonderful neighborhood. Lots of great restaurants within a couple of blocks. Pick your style of food - Italian, French, Mediterranean, German, you name it. Close walk to Bayswater and Queensway tube stations. Walking distance to Kensington Gardens and Portabello Road Market. Only one big negative. The room was hot. Really hot, even though it wasn't really that hot outside. The bathroom was especially hot, like a sauna.

I just stayed 1 night & despite the room being tiny & the bathroom very narrow, it was fine for 1 person. I was so so glad that they supply fans as the temperature was in the mid 20s.As the District & Circle Lines were closed for the weekend due to essential maintenance, I only got as Kensington Station & walked the rest of the way. I have to compliment the Receptionist on being so helpful when I had to phone her a few times looking for directions. I would return to the Garden Court Hotel. Jacinta
