Sitting between glorious Royal Parkland and the buzz of central Knightsbridge, Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, London is re-imagined and re-invented, offering the essence of timeless heritage coupled with contemporary flair and impeccable service. As part of the most-extensive multi-million-pound restoration in the hotel's history, internationally-renowned designer Joyce Wang, oversaw the new design of all the rooms, suites and public areas, inspired by the natural beauty of neighbouring Hyde Park and the glamour of the 20th century Golden Age of travel. The stunning re-imagining of The Spa at Mandarin Oriental, London along with the hotel’s destination restaurants and Mandarin Bar, were directed by esteemed New York designer Adam D Tihany.

I am a big fan of the Mandarin globally. Not many establishments can have consistency. Brilliant service. Convenient location. And a diverse choices of fine dining experiences. You have Bar Boulud in lobby.

A significant room upgrade from that which was booked on arrival and a welcoming bottle of Champagne, flowers and fruit together with a coterie of some of the nicest staff you'll meet in any London 5 Star. The MO opened when many, the Lanesborough, to name but one, chose to take and cancel reservations with an ever moving reopening schedule. Our visit was arranged by Centurion Fine Hotels & Resorts program so we were provided with a Hyde Park Suite with a balcony and a marvelous view of Hyde Park and Rotten Row. The Hotel was not fully staffed and Bar Bouloud was closed, the Hotel's actual Bar opened the day we arrived, nevertheless service was exemplary and great care was taken over distancing, cleaning and the manner in which staff offered service with masks requested for guests when moving around the hotel and a requirement for staff at all times. The MO was,at all times, very careful and mindful of our health. Room service and the Rosebery Restaurant rose to every challenge as did Concierge ably assisted by the Front Desk. MO have succeeded in persuading us to change our longstanding allegiance from the Lanesborough and we long to return to experience the hotel in less Covid-19 times. Finally: Praise to the Door Staff who dealt with a disproportionate amount of luggage on arrival and additional shopping bags with equanimity. Well done Gentlemen.

Positioned in an ideal location for shopping, eating and relaxing. The best of everything in walking distance. The hotel itself is a beautiful property. Dinner by Heston Blumenthal and his staff were impeccable.

Monday mornings are always a struggle to kick oneself into gear when you have a long working week ahead of yourself. However, this morning as I type this it certainly isn't the case. I've just spent two glorious days at the MO in London. We arrived as boyfriend and girlfriend, but after some amazing support and coordination from Killian and his team, I was able to propose to my now fiancé in an awesome setting on the hotel's terrace looking out onto Hyde Park. I did that on the Friday afternoon a couple of hours after arriving and being upgraded to the most amazing suite. From that moment on the fairytale weekend was interspersed with various classy touches. Everything from congratulatory desserts after our breakfasts, to an amazing turn down service on our first night with balloons, rose petals, champagne and sweets. I'm sure we all expect a high level of service in one of the worlds finest chain of hotels. That being said, there's something different when you stay at the MO. It all happens with a genuine level of sincerity, which makes you feel like you are being looked after by people who are genuinely interested in getting to know you. There are various folks who made it one of the most memorable weekends of our lives. Already mentioned Killian, the House Manager. What an awesome chap. As well as George who looked after us each morning at breakfast. All of the folks in The Rosebery (the MO amazing tea room), where the food and level of service sits head and shoulders above anywhere else I have had afternoon tea. In summary, if you are planning on celebrating a special occasion with a trip to a London hotel. Make it the Mandarin Oriental. There really is no other place like it.

Having already stayed at the Mandarin a few times over the years, it was the perfect choice to treat my daughter after receiving excellent GCSE results. From the moment we arrived we felt like VIP’s and very much at home. The hotel is stunning, luxurious and in a perfect location. Ideally situated to indulge in retail therapy and also for stunning early runs around Hyde Park...What I love about the hotel the most is the staff...they are what makes the hotel stand out... everyone uses your name and everyone seemed to know my daughters name and her GCSE results ...hence, we were spoilt with lots of sweet treats celebrating her achievements! Our stay was memorable on so many levels and considering everything we’ve all experienced recently it was so delightful to stay at the Mandarin, it’s simply My favourite and the best hotel we stay at! Love, love, love it! Until next time.....
