We visited here for afternoon tea which was delicious. More importantly, the setting and the ambiance for the whole occasion was close to perfect. The staff while attentive, gave us enough space to enjoy each other's company. As for the tea itself, the cakes were sublime, the scones delicious and the sandwiches so fresh they almost dissolved in the mouth. Finally,... More

The location of this hotel is very good. London traffic is horrendous and being able to walk to many places of interest, the theatres and good restaurants from the hotel instead of having to take a taxi was certainly a boon. We had a very nice Deluxe room, plenty of space and comfortable. The staff at the reception was top... More

The Covent Garden Hotel is a perfect oasis in a bustling city. This was our third visit and with each visit we become more at home at this lovely quaint hotel. Everytime we would walk in or out through the lobby it was as if we were saying hi or bye to our friends and family. It is intimate though... More

Okay where do I start. The location is beautiful - not a full on tourist spot but in the back end of the street (near Seven Dials) so not busy and only 5 mins walk from the tube station (Leicester Square, Covent Garden or Holborn equal distance). The place is beautiful the hotel lobby is welcoming, the Brasserie Max does... More

Firmdale Hotels are my favourite hotels in London and the Covent Garden Hotel is my top in the group. It's warm and friendly and service always on point! It has all the qualities and requirements of a 5 start hotel but without any of the snobbery. You'll instantly feel at home, so long as your home feels like an impeccably... More

It's difficult to describe the Covent Garden. Think of how a hotel should be, how the staff are, the rooms are, the restaurant/bar are, the staff are, and think of the nearly best they could be, and you'd have the Covent Garden. The staff are wonderful, from the waitresses/waiters, to the front desk staff, to the concierge, to the cleaning... More

This hotel is one we return to each time we visit London....there really is no other choice that is better! When we visit, we feel as though we are 'coming home'.....this may sound a little over the top but it's really true. It's a small, intimate hotel and nothing is too much trouble for any of the staff. It is... More

We stayed 6 nights at the Covent Garden Hotel. The hotel was within easy walking distance from the National Gallery, the British Museum as well as adjacent neighborhoods such as Soho and Piccadilly Circus. Easy access to 3 underground stations including Covent Garden, Leicester Square, and Tottenham Court Road. The neighborhood has charming streets with many shops and restaurants. We... More

I stayed with my mature aged mum and we absolutely loved it. The ambience, the style, the location, the food and above all the staff were just brilliant. The central location is a real plus - walking distance to so many sights (or a modest taxi ride if you're not very mobile as in our case). There's lots of shops,... More

Covent Garden
Whether you're headed here to check out the multitude of shops, theaters, cafes, pubs, and restaurants, or simply to be among the multitude of people who pass through this pretty part of town, you'll love soaking up the festive and historic atmosphere in and around Covent Garden. Even if you don't have tickets to the opera or a show at one of the many famous theaters here, don't be surprised if find yourself captivated by some impromptu act of a street performer wowing the crowds in Covent Garden's Piazza. If you do have tickets, you'll be pleased to note that many of the local eateries accommodate theatergoers with prix fixe menus, early dinners, and later than usual opening hours.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Covent Garden Hotel opened in April 1996 but the building dates back to the 1890’s when it operated as a French hospital. It is located in Monmouth Street, a charming cobbled street in the heart of the theatre district and surrounded by interesting boutiques, restaurants, cafes and bars. Covent Garden Hotel is "a quirky modern take on traditional English style." The hotel's interior has been dramatically designed by owner and design director Kit Kemp, and reflects her personal attention to detail. The ground floor is just like a stage set. A quietly bustling lobby leads into Brasserie Max, the hotel’s bar and restaurant. Up a sweeping stone staircase and into a sumptuous wood paneled drawing room and library, each with a log burning fireplace, quirky furniture and vivid upholstery. Downstairs there is a gym, private event space and a screening room. ... more   less
