#101 of 1,200 hotels in London
Travelers' Choice
The Dorchester occupies the most prestigious acre and a half of real estate in the world, in the heart of Mayfair overlooking the glorious green expanse of Hyde Park. The preferred hotel of British society, The Dorchester embodies the highest service values whilst its design and character exude 1930s glamour with a contemporary edge. Prized for its spacious and beautifully designed rooms and suites, The Dorchester’s restaurants and bars - Alain Ducasse, China Tang, The Grill and The Promenade – also attract Londoners and the glitterati alike. The Dorchester Spa was recently transformed to create the most desirable and indulgent pampering destination in London with a uniquely named Spatisserie for tea and cake.

Ok, so I took my mum here for drinks last week and returned again with my partner a week later. I will write a review for both experiences. Staff were attentive both times. Last week I had coffee and cocktails in the promenade area, yesterday it was cocktails in the bar. Both are unique experiences. The promenade is very classy and instagramable! The cocktail menu isn’t that extensive, but… if you order something off menu- they’ll make it anyway! My mum wanted a slice of cake- it wasn’t on the menu, but they found one! The bar was quite cosy. Dark, but classy. I absolutely love spending time at The Dorchester and have no hesitation in naming The Dorchester as my favourite hotel in London!

I went with my mother for afternoon tea for her birthday. When we arrived the doormen were very friendly, and once inside we were ushered to our table. It was relatively quiet and has a different atmosphere from the loud restaurant, however the live piano music and chatter from other guests was perfect and provided a very relaxed environment. We were then asked which order we would like the tea, so we opted for champagne first, then the sandwiches and palette cleanser. After that the desserts and scones were perfectly light and we were offered more of everything. The staff were fantastic and we had some lovely conversations with everyone who came to our table. To top it off they played happy birthday and brought a cake out for my mother and I had requested him to play Moon River for her as well. It all made for a very emotional but special day, made even better by the hospitality of the team. Cant wait to go back!

The Dorchester and the staff team delivered an outstanding exceptional world class service. From the moment we arrived to the moment we departed nothing was too much trouble. The accommodation was beautiful as was the food and dining experience. I can strongly recommend the Dorchester, the staff even cleaned bird excrement from our car prior to our departure! Amazing!

We stayed Christmas Eve and Christmas Day checking out on Boxing Day. The hotel gave us a double upgrade which we really appreciated. The room overlooked Park Lane and Hyde Park. Large, spacious and with lots of natural light. The bed was really comfortable so we slept like logs:-) 2 single lounges, a double seater lounge, a desk, safe, mini bar fridge, good air-conditioning and a large marble bathroom with ‘super-sized’ bath and separate shower. There were lovely touches over the Christmas period. Drinks and a sing a long by the Christmas tree on Christmas Eve, a magnificent candied sleigh on Christmas day. Staff were super attentive. On Christmas Eve we had cocktails and light snacks at The Bar. Wow, what a find in London. We will definately be coming back to the bar. Breakfast in the ground floor promenade was delightful. Just a perfect stay over the Christmas period. We will be back. Recommended.

Yesterday my family and I attended for Afternoon Tea and sadly an accident occurred that entailed my daughter being scalded by a cup of hot chocolate. The staff acted promptly and with utmost kindness. My daughter is much better today and we are grateful for the way the staff at The Dorchester looked after us all.
