We found a gem in Knightsbridge, just two steps away from Harrods. From the moment we arrived, we felt so welcomed by every single staff, particularly Enrico and Pastora who were brilliant during our dinner. The food was delicious and the service was superb.
The room we stayed in the Townhouse was a good size and housekeeping provided us with turn-down service while we dined in the restaurant. We will stay again next time we visit London.

The Capital Hotel is an oasis in the midst of the hustle and bustle of Knightsbridge. The customer service is exceptional and the rooms and suites are spacious and luxurious. The entire staff were warm, welcoming and always attentive to our needs. Most of the rooms and suites have recently been renovated to the highest standards. Although our Junior Suite had not yet been renovated, it was spacious, tastefully decorated and immaculate. The pillows were so fluffy and the towels and linens were soft and luxurious. Due to my cold, we had to extend our stay for an additional 5 nights making our total stay of 12 nights. The kindness shown by each staff member made me feel like I was cared for by an extended family. The bar was welcoming and cosy. The cocktails were beautiful crafted and the wine list was comprehensive, including wines from all over the globe as well as some carefully selected wines at affordable prices. The restaurant was spectacular; serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. We ate there several times as the quality of the food and service surpassed what we found at the majority of London restaurants. I would highly recommend the Dover Sole, Rack of Lamb and Salmon. We can't wait to return to the Capital Hotel as it has truly become our home away from home. Special thanks to Valerica, Ioana, Enrique, Miguel, Pastora and the rest of the amazing staff.

For people who want to stay in Knightsbridge at a reasonable cost its location and amenities are second to none! An extensive renovation is underway which will further add to its value. Staff is very kind and willing to help solve any problem that may arise.

Firstly will deal with the bad. We were looking forward to our stay here as the photos of the apartments were very appealing and although relatively expensive those and the location sealed the decision to book this property. The apartment we were allocated was a far cry from those photos - located at the rear it was dark and uninviting. It was desperately in need of renovation, the kitchenette doors were so old and shoddy some almost falling off, the ceiling in the entry was half falling down, catches on doors had just been removed leaving gouged out timber, bathroom very old and tired. When we questioned the disparity between this and those on the website which are advertised as five star, luxury, refurbished etc we were told there was a new carpet and lounge! We were told there was no possibility of moving as they were full for the next two nights so had to endure this sub standard accommodation for that time. We could accept it if only paying say £150 per night in London but not when paying £500! So to the good- we were finally moved to a delightful apartment at the front which had been far more recently renovated and reflected the standard indicated on the web site. If we had occupied this one the entire stay I’d be writing a glowing review. Location is brilliant very close to many high end stores, restaurants and tube station. The staff on the whole were friendly and did their best to help us - they can only do so much though. We would definitely return but only if guaranteed to be allocated the better apartment. We requested the manager see us to discuss the condition of the first apartment, however he chose to not respond to us in contrast to the welcome message on the tv. If anyone from head office reads this please note, not good enough. We operated our own hotel for ten years and would not have considered putting a guest into apartment 506 in the condition it is in. Suggest you strongly request to not be given that one and maybe the operating company will take note and spend the money it so desperately needs to justify the price and 5 star rating.

We absolutely loved our stay at The Capital. The receptionist who welcomed us ( Valerica (spelling?) was exceptionally nice and obviously wanted us to enjoy ourselves and know the hotel and amenities open to us. Dino is the best concierge in London!
We had a junior suite and it seemed larger than pictured. There were 2 bathrooms which is unexpected in a junior suite. It was understated luxury. Every detail was designed for beauty, comfort and convenience. There were plenty of outlets to charge devices and the lighting was perfect for older eyes like ours. The bed linens were high quality.
We had room service one night— a simple salad and soup. It was delivered promptly and the food was delicious. We ordered breakfast a la carte so I can’t comment on the buffet but it looked plentiful and delicious.
The Capital is definitely our hotel in London from now on

The total amount my wife and I paid for our 7 night stay at the Capital Hotel was just over $3100 (Canadian$), or £280/night. Pricey, but it is Knightsbridge after all, seconds from Harrod’s, and that price included a breakfast that kept our bellies full for the day, saving us from having paying for full lunches during our packed schedules out. Our room met all the comforts one would expect from a big American chain, except this comes with British charm, and a cozy King sized bed and antique furniture. I’ve been in many other lodgings in the UK, and my expectations about loo water temperature and pressure was exceeded here. High marks to the wonderful cleaning lady who never missed a day. The staff here are delightful, polite, yet not pretentious nor snobby. With full disclosure, some of our fellow guests ranked on the higher end of the unfriendly snob scale - not the hotel’s fault, of course! High marks to lovely front desk clerk Jess and her colleagues. A tip of the hat to all the attentive doormen of the Capital, in particular, Graham, who kept us filled in on intel regarding the Platinum Jubilee Flyover, and Adrian, who was exceedingly complimentary of my Harrington Jacket (next time I’ll wear it around Carnaby St.!) One bit of constructive criticism: service could be dicey in the restaurant during breakfast. Some days terrific, though one day we couldn’t get coffee/tea, nor order something hot because service staff was back in the kitchen. Still not enough to lower a perfect score for this fine hotel. I hope to one day return soon!

This was simply one of the best hotels I have ever had the pleasure of staying in! We were treated like luxury guests, regardless of income. It was also located close to the subway stations and walking distance from Harrods. In a very nice area where you would often see some insanely priced automobiles.
The concierge - Graham - went above and beyond to make our stay run smoothly. Every night we enjoyed coming back to the small bar where Dominick took care of us and even anticipated our needs by our 3rd night. We were two couples with two teens (one each) and the girls enjoyed the high tea one day with fabulous service by Robert. The picky teens even loved the sandwiches!
We stayed in Capital Junior Suite with Sofa which was perfect space with teens. Two bathrooms were also a bonus. Loved the posh old school feel of the entire hotel.
My only complaint is probably an indulgent American one - the rooms were too hot at night. And most restaurants closed by 9pm so if you had a late tour or wanted a small late meal, you had little to work with. But on the other hand it was a quiet area without a lot of noisy nightlife.

Small hotel, small rooms, non-existent services, inexperienced, formal and unwelcoming staff, empty mini bar, broken electrical sockets, old bathroom, air conditioner in the room as noisy as a washing machine. From the first day we had all these problems and despite the hotel having many empty rooms they didn't even give us an upgrade to make our stay more pleasant. High price compared to the quality of the structure which in my opinion can be compared to a 3 star superior. The only thing that can increase the score is the excellent location, close to the metro in a high-end context. If I were to return to London I would not choose this hotel!

We came back to the hotel because of the cocktails. They’re delicious. If you want a relaxed environment, in a great location, with a bar team who truly know their cocktails, then this is a must-visit. (And, if possible, ask for Enrico…fabulous Italian mixologist.)

They have all the standard London stations (BBC, etc), some US channels (CNN, MSNBC, Fox News), and some foreign channels, but I wasn't really in the room that often to look at TV.
There are more places to choose from in the London area.
