Mayfair is a Great location, the Green Park tube station is a minute walk from this hotel, taking you to all the major attractions and shopping ! Sainsbury grocery is located across the street , The room boasts a large bathroom with both a shower and bath , robes, hairdryer and other essentials were provided. The room has nespresso, and a lovely welcome plate of fresh fruit. The bed was a non box spring type bed . Overall was satisfied.

Dear Trip661481, It's delightful to read your positive review highlighting our premier location in the heart of Mayfair. We're thrilled that you found the proximity of Green Park tube station and the Sainsbury grocery store across the street to be beneficial during your stay. Indeed, we've positioned our hotel with our guests in mind, aiming to provide them with the best of what the city has to offer. Your mention of the large bathroom, the amenities provided, and the welcome plate of fresh fruits is particularly pleasing to read. We strive to provide a comfortable and welcoming environment for all our guests, and we're glad you appreciated these touches. We noted your comment about the bed. Our choice of non box spring type beds is part of our endeavour to deliver a unique and comfortable sleeping experience. It's delightful to know you were satisfied overall. Our hotel is indeed a stone's throw away from the well-connected Green Park station, offering our guests quick transport links across and out of the city via the Piccadilly, Victoria and Jubilee Lines. Being in such a sought-after address, we believe our location adds to the charm of staying at our hotel. We look forward to welcoming you again for another memorable stay with us. Warm regards, Guest Experience Team

We were 2 sisters bringing our 80 year old mum away for the weekend.
Everyone was so friendly from the receptionist to housekeeping to front of house staff and doormen.
Always greeting with good morning/afternoon.
Room really spacious, housekeeping we made aware there would be 3 ladies sharing the room and made sure we had everything we needed.
Breakfast was very good, with a great selection to choose from.
Would definitely be back and recommend to friends and family.

For a five star hotel it was nice rather than Wow and whilst I wouldn’t have an issue going there again, it didn’t make our top five list. Clean and tidy, staff were friendly and generally helpful. Room was generally good, lack of bathroom counter space and the open plan wardrobe in the bathroom was a little strange but nothing wrong with it as such. Just didn’t feel particularly special which is a shame.

The room itself was good value though but they did add on extras for the 12.5% service charge on everything including breakfast which felt excessive and was not warranted. Good breakfast choice but not £78 plus 12.5% = £87.75 fantastic.

Dear Jacqui S, It's wonderful to hear that you found our hotel in London clean, tidy, and that our team was friendly and helpful. We strive to provide a hospitable environment and it's encouraging to know we were able to achieve this during your stay. We understand that certain design aspects of our rooms, such as the bathroom layout, might not have met your personal preference. While these elements are integrated with a focus on functionality and aesthetics, your feedback provides an invaluable perspective. Regarding the service charge, it is standard within the hospitality industry and it is intended to ensure the continued delivery of high-quality service. However, we note your observation that it felt excessive on certain services, such as the breakfast. Although you found the quality of our breakfast good, we understand from your comments that you were hoping for a more exceptional experience given the cost. We believe in providing value for our guests and we're sorry if the experience didn't quite meet your expectations in this regard. We're glad to hear that despite these aspects, you wouldn't mind visiting us again. While we may not have made your top five list this time, we hope to have another opportunity to provide you with a more impressive stay. Best Regards, The Guest Relations Team

This hotel was a disappointment, not quite sure why it has a 5 star rating. Staff were unaccomodating, rude and dismissive most likely because we were not the right nationality for this hotel? I asked housekeeping manager for extra teabags (none were left in room) she said she could not do it and I would have to pay extra. Concierge staff were too busy hanging out at the desk, ogling young ladies would not help us hire a car or find a particular restaurant. Reception desk staff embarrassed me by checking a 50 pound note when I asked for change, seriously? British currency from.a British Bank at a 5 star hotel in front of other guests? The room was sub standard, worn and dirty, not sure this was a King Deluxe Premium. Noisy, guests running down halls, loud and disrespectful of other guests. Staff bent over backwards for other guests, we were invisible and I agree with another reviewer about being seated for breakfast, we were told to wait while the hostess seated other couples who came behind us, I take particular offense to being dismissed. This hotel caters only to certain nationalities we will be cognizant of that for our next year's booking and return to a more welcoming hotel, who treats all guests with dignity.

Great location and the service was fine (although waited for an iron for 1.5 hours one night after mine had broken and leaked water all over silk shirt and pants), but the rooms were not well set-up or maintained. There are other comparable locations with similar price points and much better quality/maintenance (have since done research on alternative hotels as expect to have more trips to this location in London).
For example, no drawers for clothing (!), but there was a worn out table (water stains, scratches, dings, deterioration of wood) underneath the TV that could easily be replaced with more functional furniture. Aside from clothing that I could hang, I lived out of my suitcase for a week, which is quite unusual for business travel.
Only curtains were blackout curtains (no sheers underneath the blackout shades) and given proximity and visibility of other rooms, it was not possible to have natural light when getting ready in the morning or evening.
Large crack under the door which allowed quite a lot of light and noise to enter the room. I was woken by construction and people at all hours of the night.
Finally, construction seemed to always begin after 10 pm at least two of the five nights of our stay. Unfortunately, noise travelled quite easily and through the stairwell and into my room and bathroom. Others in my group were also affected and we were reimbursed for one night of our stay, but I think we would all have rather slept both nights.

We regret to hear that the room setup and maintenance didn't meet your expectations. We booked to stay at the May Fair via Booking.com, and selected a deluxe room. The pictures of the rooms show a spacious, if not slightly sparse room with large stylish bathroom.
In reality, our room is small by comparison, clean yet lacking in any charm, frosted windows as we look out onto a wall and what I think are the external fans. The noise they make at night is enough to keep you awake.
We decided to enquire at reception on our first morning before we left for a day of sight seeing, if we did indeed have a “deluxe” room. Apparently we do which I find hard to believe as the deluxe room we chose on booking.com was advertised as having a “view”
What the receptionist did disclose possibly by accident is that they only allocate certain rooms to booking.com (I think we can interpret that as the poorer rooms).
Once the reception manager was involved, she reluctantly offered to move us whilst still insisting that we were in a deluxe room. We had to decline as we were late for meeting friends and not due back until 11pm. At no point were we offered a refund for the extra money that we had spent reserving a deluxe room, and to be honest, the attitude was one of “you are wrong and we are right”.
When we checked out on Monday morning, the junior receptionist mentioned that her manager would be contacting us re the bedroom. We were pleased to hear that on reflection, they felt that there was a case to answer, so we refrained from writing a review. Sadly 3 days have passed and we have heard nothing. This hotel has the benefit of a fabulous location, the foyer is sleek and looks like it could be a 5 star hotel. Sadly once past the threshold it is tired. The pictures that they post when describing the rooms do not appear to bear any relation to what you are actually given.

Dear Tiamo1967, We deeply regret to hear about your less than ideal experience during your stay at The May Fair. Your feedback is of utmost importance to us and we appreciate you taking the time to share your detailed observations. It is very concerning to hear about the discrepancies between the room you booked and the one you received. Our aim is to provide an experience that matches the expectations set by our website and partner booking platforms. We can confirm that indeed 241 is a Deluxe room, however, as all of our categories come with several different layouts, we understand that this particular layout was not to your liking and we will take note of it for the future. It seems that we missed the mark during your stay, and we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. We also want to address your concern about the sound disturbance. We understand how crucial a good night's sleep is to a satisfying stay and we deeply regret the discomfort you experienced due to the external noise. Regarding your interactions with our staff, your feedback is invaluable. The May Fair prides itself on providing superior customer service, treating each guest with respect and professionalism. We apologize if you felt this was not the case during your interactions with our team. We are also sorry to hear about the delay in follow-up from our management. We understand how important clear and timely communication is, especially when addressing concerns. Rest assured that we strive to maintain the highest standards of comfort and luxury for our guests. We're committed to continually improving our facilities and services, and your feedback is pivotal in guiding these improvements. Once again, we apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for bringing these matters to our attention. Your experience will serve as a valuable learning tool for our team as we aim to provide an exceptional experience for all of our guests. Kind Regards, The Guest Relations Team

I recently stayed at the Mayfair for a conference. When I entered my room I immediately smelled a strong fragrance from some sort of room spray. After one hour in my room I my eyes where burning and I was choking on the air. When I asked to be moved, the front desk simply said "well all the rooms smell like that." They did offer to open the windows, which I left open for two days and they told housekeeping not to spray the room again. At checkout, the receptionist said that someone probably had smoked in the room. The solution is simple: ban smoking in the hotel and fine the guest if smoke is discovered after they leave! I hardly slept at all for the two nights I was there. The room spray truly ruined my stay.

Dreadful!! The room was shabby and in need of renovation. The carpet was stained. There was no hot water in the evening and I had to run it for more than half an hour in the morning before I was able to have a barely tepid shower.
I was woken at midnight, 01:15 an 03:30 by people, adults and children, shouting and running around in the corridors.
The breakfast service was very poor and the breakfast room was absolutely packed, with tables crammed in really close to each other. Not a pleasant experience at all.
Note to Hotel…….if you intend to respond to this with your usual cut and paste message, don’t bother. Judging by the reviews, the hot water problem is clearly an ongoing one. It is inconceivable that an hotel of any quality, let alone one that charges so much, can not provide the most basic amenities.
It is a total mystery to me.

I stayed here from March 18th through the 20th. And I must say one of the absolute worst experiences. I have ever had in a hotel to begin. The room is not fully accessible for disabled people. Although it states that it is on its website, the width of the area to roll a wheelchair is too narrow. In the area where there is the bar. And the safe and any other hotel amenities. The room itself has too much furniture. That makes it difficult to access power outlets charging stations. Use of anything that would be meaningful during a stay. The bathroom and taking a shower is absolutely a bismo. It is in glass and not enough. Grab bars to access the shower, so you must be extremely careful. Accessing the shower if you're in a wheelchair otherwise you may fall and crack through the glass
I.
Was fortunate to have a caregiver who helped me door my stay. But if she was not there, it would have been very dangerous for me to stay in the room alone. As the bathroom was not adequately outfitted for a disabled person to navigate alone again. I do not encourage a person who is disabled in a wheelchair. Needing extra assistance to use the mayfair's fully accessible rooms. They have not done a good job here to prepare the guest for what they should expect. I was very disappointed at. We'll be sharing pictures on the internet to let people know how poor their service was.

There are 5 star hotels and there are ‘sort of 5 star’ hotels. The May Fair unfortunately is the latter. The hallmark of a hotel not being up to par is a great looking lobby and reception area. But go beyond the ground floor and you’ll find that the rooms are outdated (crooked drawers, rusty bathroom faucets) and noisy (third floor). The real down turn was that the room door let through light through cracks. Our room was never dark due to the light from the corridor shining through the cracks. Our room didn’t really gave off that ‘5 star’ ambiance.

Of course the redeeming quality of the May Fair is the location (location, location). If you’re spending a long weekend in London, Green Park tube station is almost right next door and you can zip through London easily. Also the Mall and Buckingham Palace are a short stroll away. The restaurant was brilliant (albeit pricey) and breakfast was decent, but a bit dull. Staff is helpful and very nice.

My previous stay in London was at another 5 star hotel in the highest building in London (hint) and the May Fair falls well below the benchmark.

Not sure what you mean by “ best way”? Cheapest is the Tube. But I believe you may have to change trains. My advice is to spring for a cab especially if you have luggage. I figure you’ve spent considerable $$ on airfare and hotel a little more for a safer, quicker direct cab ride is worth it. Everyone is not at their sharpest mentally after a long overnight flight. And you’ll be an easy target for pickpockets on the tube. And you’ll be dealing with flights of stairs going out of the tube station.
