We were transferred to this hotel as our original hotel was closed due to Covid. The transfer was seemless and the hotel was lovely and a historic looking property. Our room was a good size although I think we had an upgraded room from the standard. We must mention Pauline though, in the breakfast restaurant who was so attentive and lovely throughout both days of our weekend stay (some days breakfast is served in your room), despite our requests for extra toast, fruit, coffee etc. Lovely lady and a great representative of the hotel. Please make sure she gets these comments. Thank you.

My wife and I were very much looking forward to our first visit to the Mayfair hotel. After all it’s the Mayfair, a five star property which boasts charm and history, but We were so disappointed that it didn’t meet any of this criteria. Upon arrival we had a stress free check in, and wandered up to our room. It was basic, dull, outdated, and certainly did not have the wow factor we were expecting. We got changed to go out into town and went down for a drink. There is one cocktail bar open, overcrowded, rowdy and not a table in sight. We insisted as this was the only bar in the hotel and we were residents, we would like a drink. We were informed there was a waiting list, but could give us a. Table for 25 mins. 😳🤷🏼. Next morning we rang down to the reception for some milk. No answer so I text the automated service line, which took over 45 mins to arrive. By which point we had given up and gone down for breakfast. Service in the breakfast room was diabolical. Things arrived wrongly, asked twice for toast and never arrived, asked for poached eggs and got scrambled. No salt and pepper on table despite asking twice, brown sauce requested and was looked at gone out. Was offered a refil of coffee, then it never arrived. In conclusion, I was amazed at how this hotel downgrades itself. It’s the Mayfair hotel in London a five star hotel renowned for its heritage, sadly I’ve had better service at a travel lodge. I won’t be choosing this hotel again. Very disappointing.

Lovely stay at the Mayfair Hotel. Warm and friendly service upon arrival which was only matched by a beautiful room. Been fortunate to stay at the hotel on a number of occasions and can honestly say that the highest of standards have been maintained. A huge amount of care had clearly taken place in making sure that the hotel was COVID safe. At reception the member of staff had made a note of our wedding anniversary and the hotel arranged for a lovely bottle of fizz in our room which was a really nice touch. Room was quiet, lovely and cool on a hot day and beautifully maintained. Great location from which to enjoy London’s theatre district down the road and the local restaurants. The next morning breakfast was a real highlight. Unable to offer the ‘normal’ service in the restaurant due to restrictions, a lovely table service was provided to our room - the ‘Italian’ breakfast was delicious - everything arrived promptly and was lovely and warm. We would have no hesitation in coming back and enjoying another glorious stay at Mayfair.

An amazing stay at an amazing hotel. A faultless and seamless service from the fantastic staff from check in to check out. Myself and partner stayed to celebrate our engagement and the staff really went that extra mile to make it really special from the moment we arrived and throughout our celebrations into the evening/night. The bar has a brilliant vibe at night and was really enjoyable notwithstanding current restrictions. Will most definitely be staying again.

Stayed at the hotel many of times over the years was always are number 1 choice over the last couple of years we have tired a few different and this time thought we’d stay back at the Mayfair.. well what a disappointment it was it has majorly gone down hill since the last time we have stayed here, you do it have that Luxury feel of the hotel it’s lost it’s class, and even in the rooms there has been no TLC which is very much needed as the room we was in looked dated and needed a good freshen up! Breakfast was a disaster the food was cold and you didn’t get get what it said on tour dish for instance the sausages was missing of the english breakfasts and the fruit was missing from the continental one - also make sure you book your breakfast as the poor people that was having to que and get turned away was shocking I would have been so annoyed if I had booked breakfast with my room to be told there was no availability there was one family getting told to go else where to have breakfast! We stayed here for our dads 60th birthday to celebrate for the weekend Luckily we was out shopping and sign seeing most of the time as would have been gutted if we needed to spend more time in the room. Defiantly won’t be staying back here such a sham as was always one of our favourite hotels.
