The Savoy is the only luxury hotel on the River Thames. The ballet, opera, and theatre of vibrant Covent Garden are just steps away, with the City, world-renowned museums and galleries, and the designer shopping of Knightsbridge and Mayfair within easy reach. The Savoy has been woven into the fabric of London for almost 130 years, with exceptional service and memorable experiences at the heart of everything. Our team work hard to prepare for our guests and have implemented a range of measures to look after your well-being, but one thing remains a constant – the warmth of our Savoy welcome.

Absolutely amazing hotel, go above and beyond any other 5 star hotels in London, gave us free upgrade to not only a suite but with the only balcony in hotel!, which also incuded a butler called Calum who was exceptional, I've been to many 5 star hotels in London but nothing comes close to the Savoy, don't bother looking anywhere else, you will not find better :)

Hotel's Favorite
I have stayed many times at the Savoy in London, both on my own and with my dearly departed husband, Don. We always have enjoyed fabulous experiences here and my October 2022 visit with my niece and great nephew, who live in the UK, was no different. I reserved a Luxury King for the 3 of us for a long weekend, thinking this might be a bit tight quarters, but we'd make do. On our arrival, the wonderful Anastasia in the hotel's offices, and Elena at the front desk, arranged for an amazing, 2-Room Suite with an amazing view of the Thames...needless to say, my niece and her 9-year old son were duly impressed! (Photo attached). I had sprained my foot a few weeks before I left California, and the Staff were so accommodating to me in my "debilitated" state. They brought me ice, assisted me with my packages, and overall, took excellent care of me. The pool and Spa are tranquil retreats from the bustle of London and the staff are so kind. In addition to the luxury and serenity of the Savoy, the hotel is so well located. There are many great restaurants, pubs and lots of convenient shopping nearby. Don's miss Cafe Monolo next door for delicious and very reasonably priced tapas, wine, and bocadillos sandwiches - yum! I traditionally return to the Thames, for a stroll along her banks, to reminisce about my many visits there from my first visit when I was 19 years old, which is almost 40 years ago now. Trafalgar Square, the National Gallery, Westminster Square and Abbey, Picadilly Circus, the Tower of London, Shakespeare's recreated Old Globe Theatre Tour (absolutely worth a visit to Southwark for THAT - a wonderful family and historical attraction!) and so many of the major draws are right there, and it's a great jumping off place for seeing the sights. One of my favorite things to do is simply to go to the Savoy Church, which is located behind the hotel on Savoy Hill, across the road from the Savoy Tup, which is an inexpensive watering hole for the local work force and a fun place for drinks and people watching. The old grave stones and the small grounds are lovingly preserved and we have witnessed more than one charming wedding on our visits over the years, Fun! The River restaurant was impeccable (I had the fish and my niece had the lobster pre-Opera, and both were divine!) and the decadent breakfast in the mornings (thankfully served until the civilized hour of 11AM!) in the beautifully decorated atrium sitting room is A MUST! I look forward to returning to this amazing hotel again and again. My thanks to everyone at the Savoy Hotel for yet another incredible stay!

Response from Franck Arnold, General Manager at The Savoy
Responded Feb 10, 2023
Dear SisterMoon_8, It was absolutely wonderful to read your extremely detailed review following your most recent stay with us at The Savoy. Thank you so much for taking the time to write it - I know future guests will find your comments and suggestions most interesting, and I will have absolute pleasure in sharing it with colleagues across the hotel. I was so pleased to learn that you enjoyed your most recent stay, and that you have so many happy memories from all of your visits to The Savoy over the years, it is an honour to be part of your family's history! I was thrilled you enjoyed your suite allocation, and fitted in so many different different activities during your time in London - both at the hotel and in the surrounding area. Indeed the hotel is perfectly placed to enjoy the very best of city life - including the small treasures such as the Savoy Church where I have also spent many happy moments watching life go by. We hope to have an opportunity to welcome you back to The Savoy very very soon, and please do get in touch if there is anything we can do for you in the mean time. Warmest wishes, Franck X Arnold, Managing Director

We arrived in the Savoy Rolls Royce and were greeted by name , from the moment we stepped out till the moment we left , we honestly felt like like royalty, the staff and the facilities here are truly world class , the rooms and all other facilities were sooo ‘on point’ ( even the door hinges are polished) !! Fresh flower arrangements everywhere and every staff member acknowledged us , good quality linens and room amenities, extremely clean, big shout out to the doormen who work extremely long shifts but always remembered us - their welcoming smile was appreciated as we constantly popped outside for a cigarette, which with bring me to a negative point. There is unfortunately no comfortable outside area for smokers , we had to stand close to the entrance which had no seating area - we seemed to get in the way of other people arriving. While I’m on the negatives, I felt that although they have a great business centre I feel that they could easily add a printer to make things easier, the receptionist was more than happy to print my documents but I feel it would have been easier if there was a printer in the business centre. We visited the American Bar for drinks and had a great experience, we unfortunately didn’t have a dinner there but had breakfast at Ramsey’s Riverside restaurant which was perfect, the bacon was trimmed and perfectly cooked , eggs were of the best quality and no imperfections at all, orange juice freshly squeezed, black pudding soft but cooked , cannot at all but give a perfect 5 stars for the breakfast. We asked to check out late which was no hassle at all and with no extra charge , the American receptionist who checked us in was more than accommodating in making sure our requests were met with a smile, although there were 2 negatives in my review, I gives me pleasure recommending this amazing hotel, cannot wait to return.

We stayed here in 2019 and were beyond wowed. Just stayed again - and continued to be beyond wowed! The hotel is like no other, perhaps because its history is unparalleled, with its list of celebrities and royals who have been. We adored the Savoy's famed famed American Bar where the Queen Mum nipped her gin, as well as its Beaufort Bar where Taylor Swift just did a photo shoot. Everything is pristine, showing no wear despite being over 100 years old. But what sets the Savoy apart even more is its truly exceptional service, from the concierge to the front desk (thank you for your incredible patience and attention Janella!) to the housekeeping and restaurant staff. People seem truly happy working there and happy ensuring that travelers have an extraordinary experience. Can't wait to return! (PS - perfect location!)

Service in restaurant was very disappointing for the reputation of the Savoy and Gordon Ramsey. He is always so hot on quality but it wasn’t there for our visit. Why White wine has to be taken away and hidden, whilst your eating, is hugely frustrating, when the staff are not keeping an eye on what’s happening on your table. And to get coffees and a possible refill for breakfast was again very frustrating as there were enough staff! Not impressed Gordon.

On arrival I was very pleased to be offered a room upgrade, positive. Unfortunately the next morning on arrival at breakfast, I was informed that there was a 15/20 minute wait, and another guest was complaining that he had been waiting for 1/2hr. I felt that this was completely unacceptable for the Savoy and left even though I had paid for breakfast. This is not the type of service to be expected at this lovely Hotel, I was very disappointed and spoilt my visit.

What an amazing stay, we were treated like Royalty and made to feel really special. This was a birthday surprise for my partner, and it went all according to plan. Nothing was too much trouble. We are so pleased we did this. The environment, food, drinks and all the people make this a really special and lovely place. We felt welcomed from the minute we arrived until the minute we left. I would like to thank every member of the Savoy Team for making this such a wonderful experience.

The Savoy was an experience second to non, even spotting some of the faces that appeared on the TV programme. We had two night stay to celebrate our 25th Wedding Anniversary. The staff were faultless. The room was timeless and faultless and the hotel had left us personalised stationary and a welcome celebratory message and a sweet treat and balloons. The hotel has a spa and pool which was lovely and we took advantage of. Breakfast was included and loads of choice. The food and drink was expensive but expected staying in a 5 stay hotel in the centre of London.
