If you’re looking for a proper English tea you can never go wrong with Claridge’s. The atmosphere is lovely, the service so attentive and the teas are delicious. The sandwiches- not my thing but the pastries were yummy! The even gave us a special cheesecake as first time customers!
Claridge’s has always been one of the top hotels in London but let’s face it, over the years, it had begun to get tired. Not anymore! The hotel has been renovated top to bottom and is also expanding. Claridge’s advantages have always been extensive. It’s location in the center of Mayfair can’t be beaten and it has always oozed charm and class. The staff has always provided top notch service and it’s bar is one of the best in the world. This is why it has been a classic for almost a century. These strengths remain. The hotel, however, had been in need of renovation because the rooms, while classic and charming, has become dated. In addition, the hotel lacked a spa facility. The recent renovation fixes all of this. The rooms now are the best of any city hotel that we have been too. They are now truly beautiful in every respect. The designers have been able to achieve the impossible and have balanced modernity and tradition with perfection. The room facilities are first class with stunning modern bathrooms, amazing showers and air conditioning that can finally hold its own with global warming! The design however retains the hotels Art Deco traditions with beautiful parquet wood floors and attention to detail throughout. Claridge’s has regained its position as the finest hotel in London and indeed has to be a contender on any list of finest city hotels in the world!…
Simply outstanding, quintessentially British to a tee! However not stuffy, or reserve, but still elegant, smart and approachable. We stayed for two nights and did a Timeless Escape in a balcony suite, which overlooking Mayfair was stunning. Parking was included was a nice touch, really helpful. We had dinner in the foyer restaurant on our first night which was great, everyone was smartly dressed and we had excellent service and some fun with our waiter - Yanis, who remembered us from a previous visit (all these touches make a difference). For breakfast we were relaxed in trackkes, sliders and T's and it wasn't an issue. The new spa (5 floors down) was sublime as was the room and overall attention to detail. We loved all the Damien Hirst details long with the incredible Stained Glass window which you could see from the ground floor. We couldn't fault it, it felt like home and we will be back - a new tradition has been born. Thank you. …
Everything at Claridge's was luxury. From the sheets and pillows on the comfortable bed, staff friendliness, beautiful fresh flowers in the lobby and in our room. The oersonel greeted us by name after meeting us once, and made us feel special.
The tea time was absolutely amazing. Chef’s Hauchard’s pastries are delicious and light and the experience was perfect thanks to Stephanie’s service. She is amazing and so attentive to every of our needs. A beautiful moment that we will remember for a long time. The French ladies
My husband and I returned to Claridges having not been able to visit for several years and we were not disappointed. As usual the staff were wonderful and our room was lovely. We both slept very well as the bed and pillows are so comfortable!
One of the best, of not the best afternoon teas we ave had. Arrived early and went to the bar for drinks. Served on time and with great style by Alise. The cucumber sandwiches were replaced mainly by chicken and ham and we had as any as we liked. The scones were very good and most of the desserts were taken home in a doggy box and eaten later. Especially good was the Claridge's Blend tea. A wonderful experience.
Fabulous Art Deco setting for a delicious champagne afternoon tea. We were made to feel special and valued as soon as we entered the hotel foyer. When seated at our booked table with the sound of live music playing, we were transported back to a glorious era of grandness and opulence. We loved it. Our allocated waitress was Alix who was attentive to our needs, knowledgeable about the menu and had an excellent friendly and warm manner throughout our experience. We felt that she was a great ambassador for the hotel. We enjoyed our afternoon immensely and fulfilled our expectations. We were not staying at the hotel but with what we saw we would have loved to have stayed.
back to the Claridge's. Outstanding service, perhaps the best hotel in London. Not everything is flawless though. the hotel lacks a proper lounge space and they haven't find a replacement for Daniel Humm so no fancy restaurant. The new spa is classic and understated, i like the Toto toilets in the rooms.
We've stayed in a few of the 'top' hotels in London and treated ourselves to a night at Claridges having watched the documentary series about its extensive modernisation/refurbishment. First thing to say is that all the staff we encountered were incredibly professional, welcoming and friendly. We stayed in a Mayfair room which was a good size, art deco style in decoration, lots of wardrobe space, great bathroom and a really comfortable, large bed. The room was incredibly quiet....we heard no noise at all from other rooms/hallways etc. Our only comments are that (1) we were surprised/disappointed that there were no in room tea/coffee-making facilities (it's always nice to be able to make a pre breakfast tea ,when you wake up in a hotel!) and (2) that there is no signage on the floors to indicate the direction you need to go to get to your room (resulting in a bit of initial confusion!). Having checked in, we returned to reception to ask to be shown around the hotel ...this was a nice thing to do as we saw the wine cellar, spa and bars. We then enjoyed our 'welcome drink' in the Fumoir (free choice from their standard drinks menu), a lovely cocktail each. Breakfast was great....lots of choice, cooked really well and nicely presented. All in all, a very special experience.…
