After two cancelled wedding attempts abroad due to Covid we in the end decided to hold the wedding in Clargdge's. We all had a great time, everything went to plan thanks to the capability of all the staff.
Our second stay at Claridges but this time it was for a surprise birthday dinner for a family member an 14 others. My wife liaised with the Private Dining team and organised the menu, wines and table decorations and our concerns over whether it would work were totally unfounded and Chris and Glenn were simply outstanding. We're just ordinary people but you are made to feel like royalty when you stay here and everyone is so kind, polite and willing to help. Despite the surroundings there's no hint of stuffiness its just luxury and you are made to feel like you belong. We can't wait for our next visit.
We were excited to finally arrive at Claridges after having to cancel two other reservations because of the pandemic. On checking in we were upgraded to the largest room not a suite. Upgrade courtesy of my Grand Luxury hotel membership. Approximately 600 square feet of heavenly luxury. The room was stunningly beautiful and had great huge soft bed and soft pillows. The bathroom had all the luxuries that you would expect in a 5 star hotel. For my wife a Dyson hair dryer. A huge walk-in shower. Double sinks, automatic toilet seats. A scale so that I could keep track of how much weight I am putting on. Comfortable slippers that actually fit me. Large, thick and absorbent towels. Room for a desk, couch and chairs and still room. The housekeepers did a great job, offering to come in twice daily. Room service brought our included breakfast each morning. The English Breakfast tea was perfectly hot. The toast was buttered while the bread was still hot as we asked. The room service people without exception were courteous and proficient offering to help in any way we would like. The concierge staff starting months before we arrived helped with suggestions for restaurants, activities and reservations. Simon helped get us through the tedious tas of checking in for our flight home. The whole concierge staff were helpful and always with a smile. Mohammed was roving around the concierge desk, entrance and front desk area. I don’t actually know Mohammed’s job title but he was warm and friendly and always eager to help us get the lift to take us to our room. He always made us feel like we belonged and were part of the Claridges family. He was a delight. His smile was infectious. The front desk people helped in many ways including making change and currency exchange. Tang was helpful in our checking out process, friendly and happy i. The process. Edward and another person,(I forgot his name) were extremely helpful getting us settled with three large suit cases and two carryons. They brought six folding luggage racks and set them up. Edward was also the one who helped us with our luggage on check out. The door men were all helpful. I forget the one that arranged for the Claridges limo to take us to a restaurant when taxis were not showing up. Both my wife and I enjoyed the Afternoon Tea in the lounge. I wrote up a separate review about that. I had massages on two separate days for two hours each. Yanina was the massage therapist. She listened and gave me soft delicate pressure as I had asked for.Khonnika was the person who greeted me each time. She was warm and friendly and offered and brought me cold sparkling water each day. Roxanne was also helpful on a couple of the calls that I made to the spa. I have learned over the years that when all the people in a business are nice and welcoming and friendly and helpful, that it starts at the top. I found out who the General manager of the hotel is. His name is Paul Jackson. I asked one of the ladies how I could meet with Paul Jackson. She did not hesitate, though she asked what I wanted to speak to him about. She asked where my wife and I would be, and sure enough a few minutes later Paul Jackson came and introduced himself to my wife and I. It was quite apparent and reinforcing to see where many of the special traits found in the employees came from. “Sir you should be very proud of yourself and your team” We are both very happy to have found Claridges and will look forward to making this our home away from home on every trip to London. Thank you!!! PS I think that it would be helpful if people working at Claridges could wear name badges.…
Our first visit to Claridge’s and it will certainly not be our last. A truly exceptional experience that will not be forgotten. We stayed at Claridge’s for two nights, we stayed in a Mayfair Room which was lovely, everything that you could ask for. The staff were incredible, they could not have done more for us. Definitely the top of our hotel list, we cannot wait to return later this year.
Back home, we have so many fantastic and unique memories of this unforgettable stay we had together with our three children at Claridge's! Claridge's is a fantastic hotel with stunning newly renovated rooms. It is located in one of the most convenient and beautiful areas in London. But what really makes the difference is an extremely nice and helpful staff who is able to surprise and to giving a real feeling of hospitality. Breakfast is one of the best ever had. And of course, the three bars are setting standards as well.
The hotel is at the perfect location for shopping at Bond Street and Selfridges and there are always taxis outside and eager concierges to assist you and Bond street subway station is less than 100m away. The hotel is now fully refurbished. The rooms are excellent with excellent and technologically advanced bathrooms, very quiet, with excellent climate control. At this stay we were upgraded to an excellent huge suite with a huge living room but we have previously stayed in a refurbished deluxe room which is also very comfortably sized with excellent facilities. The staff of the hotel strikes the right balance of friendliness and professionalism and is exceptionally good in its work. The food and service at the Foyer and Reading Room Restaurant at breakfast, lunch and dinner is perfect. We have stayed several times in this hotel before and after its refurbishment. Before the refurbishment we have tried several other hotels in London in order to find something better but we kept coming back to Claridge's. I am glad we did because after the refurbishment the Claridge's topped our hotel list and not just in London but everywhere we have been and we compare it with the likes of Plaza Athenee Paris, The Plaza New York etc which are also excellent hotels and at the top of our list.…
This is not about the rooms (doubt I could ever afford to stay here) - it is about the outstanding lunch I had with my young adult nephew and son at the Foyer and Reading Room. We were there on a Saturday so had the fixed price menu - three courses for 79 pounds - and from start to finish it was unforgettable. We were welcomed with warmth and enthusiasm. No problem here that my son and his cousin were wearing Converse trainers (as opposed to the Ritz where their outdated ban on sports type shoes still applies). The staff were kind and attentive and the sommelier made great wine suggestions, especially the red, which my son loved. The food was sublime - I had the risotto and from now on I will give up trying to make my own as this was absolute heaven. My nephew had the famous chicken pie - all of us had a taste and agreed it was out of this world. When I made the reservation I let them know it was a special birthday of mine and at the end they brought out a little cupcake with a candle - such a thoughtful touch. What impressed me the most was the way we were treated. I am not a rich person (I am a teacher on a very ordinary salary) and I had to save for this - it was a special treat. My son and his cousin were a bit intimidated by the surroundings but once they were made to feel very welcome, they settled in and enjoyed every minute of this experience - as I did. I can't thank the staff enough for their courtesy and professionalism. We had a wonderful experience - it was more than just the food - it was the welcome from the doormen at the beginning to the goodbye at the end. The whole place is so beautiful and I had the time of my life. Thank you all so much.…
It was amazing. Excellent service, excellent staff, excellent food. It’s a place I would totally recommend staying in London. Hope I can go soon to experience this all over again. As I said before it was excellent
5 star service in 5 star hotel. Why stay anywhere else? Location is fantastic. Rooms were attended to punctually and were very quiet. Staff were most courteous and friendly. Atmosphere was comfortable. Meals were excellent
The hotel sets itself high standards and surpasses their objectives in all areas . A simply wonderful stay and perfect location for a long weekend in London . The staff are the main asset to the hotel and it clearly comes from excellent training and consistent attention to detail .......no more need be said in praise of Claridge's .
