An amazing experience from start to finish. I can highly recommend. A hotel in a great location in London. A true 5 star experience. Food and drinks on point. Excellent staff and service, no request too small and nothing is a problem. Beautifully appointed and comfortable rooms. I am a return guest who is happy to keep on returning.

I recently visited London for an early Christmas trip with my Mum and had the pleasure of staying at Claridge’s.

The rooms are impeccably designed, with every detail carefully thought out. The amenities are far superior to any other hotel I’ve stayed at in London, making it a luxurious and comfortable retreat. Although there was a slight issue during check-in due to what seemed to be miscommunication made by the individual on the front desk, the staff at Claridge’s went above and beyond to resolve it. Their dedication to guest satisfaction was evident, and they genuinely showed how much they care.

The highlight of my first morning was using the pool facilities. My Mum and I had the pool to ourselves, and it was incredibly relaxing.

Breakfast in the foyer was lovely, though the lady checking guests in on the second day could have been a little more polite. Regarding food, we particularly loved the festive touch of Christmas-themed pastries in our room, which added to the magical atmosphere of our stay.

The butler service was exceptional. The kind and attentive lady assigned to us went out of her way offering to assist us. After learning about a soup spill from the room service cart that had resulted in a minor burn on my leg, she showed genuine concern. She also swiftly located a pair of jeans I’d sent for cleaning due to a soup stain and returned them promptly – a level of service that truly impressed me.

Little touches made the stay even more special, such as the florist bringing a stunning bouquet to our room. The welcome drink and delicious confectionary items in the room on arrival.

The bathroom was spacious and luxurious, featuring both a large bathtub and a rainfall shower that dispensed essential oils – a perfect blend of relaxation and indulgence.

Lastly, the hotel’s location is ideal, placing us in the heart of London with everything just a stone’s throw away. I cannot wait to return to Claridge’s.

Dear Alice G, Thank you for your thoughtful and comprehensive review. It was a pleasure to welcome you and your Mother to Claridge’s for an early Christmas trip and I was delighted to read that you enjoyed so many aspects of your stay from the moment you arrived, to the moment we bid you a fond farewell. Whilst you kindly complimented all aspects of your stay, it gave me great pride to read your kind words regarding the team, in particular our Butlers and to share them with everyone because I know how tirelessly they work to deliver exceptionally warm, welcoming, attentive and personal service to each and every guest and I am pleased your experience was no different. Nonetheless, I have shared your considered feedback in regard to your arrival with our Director of Rooms, who joins me in apologising for this shortfall. We look forward to welcoming you and your Mother back for many more occasions but, in the meantime, I send you both every possible good wish, Paul Jackson General Manager

Delightfully decorated and renovated throughout but the main lobby is cramped and hectic. Sightseers having " afternoon tea" takes the whole level of sophisticated charm out of the equation.

Our room was excellent with a light and airy feel to it and extremely quiet after passing through the lobby. Service is first class and always with a smile.

Having not been in London since pre Covid we were looking forward to a sophisticated stay and other than the main lobby we found it very relaxing.

Dear Kipperman27, Thank you for your thoughtful and constructive review. Whilst I was pleased that you enjoyed your stay, I am most sorry that you felt the Front Hall of the hotel to be overcrowded. The Festive Season is a particularly busy time of year in London with travellers, both domestic and international, visiting to enjoy the Christmas decorations and celebrate with family and friends, which is reflected in the number of guests, both resident and non-resident present in the Front Hall and can understand how this might be overwhelming at times. This is, of course, an exception and for the vast majority of the year, our Front Hall reflects the same level of sophistication and elegance that you encountered across the rest of the hotel and enjoyed throughout your stay. I do hope that we may have the pleasure of welcoming you back to Claridge’s at a less hectic time of year. Best regards, Paul Jackson General Manager

We always stay here when we are in London, if we have enough money. We spent 4 nights this time, the last 3 in a balcony room overlooking a construction site in Mayfair. The rooms were very well equipped with individual temperature control and a few US and European electrical sockets, in addition to the British ones. The hotel is generously staffed; everyone speaks good English, and it is usually easy to get immediate attention. They probably speak other languages too, but we have no experience of that. Its location is a bit far from the City and the Theatre district, but they are very good at getting you a cab outside the front door.

Amazing hotel to stay during Christmas (or anytime). We usually choose Art Deco but this time stayed in the Princess Eugenie suite (traditional and lavish style) and it was fabulously appointed. Huge master bathroom (Claridges are best in London for bathroom sizes) and good sized living room and dining area. We were surprised with a beautifully-decorated Christmas tree (taller than me!) where each handblown ornament was individually designed. As always your newspaper of choice is hung on your door for the moment you wake up and all the usual Claridges details were in place. Everything is thoroughly thought out to ensure a smooth and perfect stay. There is such an atmosphere prevalent at this hotel - it has an energy like nowhere else! If I were to change one thing it would be to have less tables at afternoon tea and make up the difference by charging more, as it can get quite hectic. However, you can enjoy eating in the Fumoir just next door to have more privacy. The terrace outside the bar has blankets and is a nice place to chilll out with a truffle pizza! Claridges has fantastic, personal customer service, they’re en-pointe for attention to detail and both helpful and accommodating in all the food venues. We stay here at least once a year and often come to eat, sometimes bringing friends who always enjoy it too. I have a discerning teen who has only stayed in 5 star hotels/resorts. After trying out almost all the highest end 5* hotels in London, whenever we need to book a stay in the city he always says “we’re staying at Claridges, right?”. Housekeeping is excellent, phones answered politely, and that certain sparkle you feel as soon as you enter the lobby makes you feel as though you’re just a bit tipsy! We look forward to returning in a few weeks!

Claridge’s, a grand dame amongst London hotels, has a strong reputation and historic relevance. The location is in an elegant area of Mayfair close to Oxford Street and New Bond Street, upscale shopping areas. Bond Street Subway is within walking distance, however not close by.
The atmosphere is lively due to their popular The Foyer & Reading Room restaurant being located near to the reception area. With 190 rooms and suites it does not have an intimate atmosphere as the reception and lobby area may get very busy. The corridors are long and getting to some rooms may prove difficult.
Service at restaurants is top notch and the food delightful at both breakfast and other meals. One should order the lobster Wellington, a one-of-a-kind dish at lovely The Library and Reading Room. Breakfast menu is nicely set. However, craving comfort food, had spaghetti Bolognese at the Claridge’s Bar terrace, and the sauce was below satisfactory.
Rooms are ample and most, especially the Mayfair room category, got updated décor and upgraded electronic systems. The Mayfair room is nicely decorated; however, it has some design flaws. There is no place to work properly as what would be a desk is a very narrow space that also serves as a dressing table. The sofa with a lower table may just serve as an improvised desk. Even though accommodations were located on a side street, however with faulty soundproofing as it was noisy at times. There are offices across the street, hence the Mayfair room terrace has no privacy and is practically useless.
A walk-in closet with a small foyer leading to the door gives welcome privacy to the bedroom separated by a sliding door. A sliding door separates the bath area from the bedroom. The bathroom is ample; however, it becomes hot with the end of summer sunshine, even with the nice air conditioning turned on in the bedroom. It has heated flooring and a separate bathtub, shower and toilet enclosure. Towels are not large as in other luxury properties in London. Toiletries are just standard quality on refillable bottles.
In all, one will set high expectations for the Claridge’s experience given the room rates charged and reputation of the hotel. Those should be restrained when setting.

I hope you will accept my assurance that I will address each one with my senior team, to ensure that we take measures to improve these elements of service and comfort. In spite of the disappointments we caused you I do hope that you will perhaps consider returning to Claridge’s when you are next in London, so we may have the opportunity to rekindle your image of the hotel, and I would be grateful if you would, therefore, make your next reservation through my office so I may personally handle the arrangements for your stay. I stayed at Claridge's for four nights over my 60th birthday weekend with my partner in a balcony room.
We arrived around 3pm and were shown to a 6th floor room with a lovely balcony with table and chairs overlooking Davies street. This meant we got sun throughout the afternoon and saw some beautiful sunsets. We were lucky enough to have beautiful weather even in March to be able to sit out and enjoy drinks on our balcony.
The room was spacious and immaculate and the bathroom had a separate bath and shower cubicle. The loo was an automated Toto with various features that we enjoyed! There was an extensive mini bar, with included soft drinks, and a coffee machine with pods that were regularly topped up. There weren't any tea making facilities though (although tea is available on request).

Our room was serviced morning and evening and we were asked what times would be convenient for us - a great idea which meant we were never disturbed and everything was done whilst we were out sightseeing / having dinner.
Over the weekend we had cocktails in the Fumoir bar and the Painter's bar. We were able to walk in on the Thursday evening but suggest booking a table at weekends. Very interesting cocktails available in both bars.

We also had afternoon tea - a must at Claridge's - with unhurried service, extra sandwiches and different teas on request and amazing cakes. A lovely relaxed ambience.
On my birthday we had breakfast in bed, brought in on a trolley and set up by the windows. A real treat! I was also given a birthday gift and a cute birthday cake - delicious and a lovely touch.

All the staff we encountered were so welcoming and helpful.
The whole stay felt very special.
Of course none of this is cheap - but it really is worth every penny!

I have stayed at Claridges many times, but this time was very disappointing with the noise of the air-conditioning in the room, after one hour of trying to get to sleep, I turned it off only to find that the AC unit is probably above the bathroom ceiling and continues to run like a refrigerator if I had been staying another night, I would’ve asked to move. I’ve not had this problem previously in October. I stayed at the grand Tacandy hotel Tenerife Cost £245 a night air-conditioning which was kept on all night no noise problem at all. When you pay for a room at Claridges obviously expensive you don’t expect to get noise issues from the air-conditioning. This hotel is the best in London. I will return the breakfast is excellent the staff are a credit to the hotel and I was very happy with the room itself .

Dear David W, Whilst it was a pleasure welcoming you back to Claridge’s recently, I was most concerned that you were understandably disappointed by the noisy air-conditioning that disturbed your stay, for which please accept my most sincere apologies. I addressed this issue with our Director of Engineering, who immediately rectified the issue with the air-conditioning unit and will take every measure to ensure this does not happen again. I am most grateful for your loyal patronage and compliments regarding the team and I hope we can look forward to welcoming you back to Claridge’s in the not too distant future. My husband/I just stayed at Claridges for the first time, for 1 night. We booked an inner courtyard room and requested quiet location in hotel (due to being light sleepers; view not important to us), and all our requests were very graciously honored!! Even got fan in room for white noise (requested in advance). Our room was beautiful and bed comfortable. What we loved most about the hotel, besides room, was the amazing customer service received from all staff - including emails prior to trip. Also the public areas of hotel are gorgeous!!
Highly recommend!!
