The first time I stayed at the Crescent Hotel was in 1971 and over all those years I’ve paid many visits to this place, the last time for a week two months ago. In my opinion it is the perfect little hotel in London. The location is very convenient. You will be 5 minutes from the Russell Square tube station... More

Attended training in Russell Square and required a bed for the night. This hotel was very local and very reasonably priced. I stayed in room 34. Room was right on the entrance to the top floor, everytime someone entered the floor, the door slammed which woke me up. There was also at times a strange noise which I thought was... More

This hotel is close to Euston Station and Russell Square underground. We were very tired after a long flight, so this was a good hotel for an overnight stay before moving on. Really interesting area to stay in, close to many attractions such as the British Museum,Covent Garden, etc

The Crescent Hotel proves that you can still get good value in the centre of a generally overpriced capitol city. First of all, the location is great - very near lots of things like Euston station, eateries and so on, but on a very quiet Georgian crescent (hence the name). My room was lovely, brightly decorated, spacious (I opted for... More

If you don't own a place in London, this is your next best option. Or better! When you walk in, it has the feel of a Georgian London home, complete with a living room with patterned wallpaper, sofas, and a TV. Rooms are comfortable and have more than most old hotels. Even if your room doesn't have en suite facilities,... More

My daughter, granddaughter and myself stayed at the Crescent last weekend, just for the one Saturday night. We were in room 15 which is on the first floor so not too many stairs! The room has just been redecorated and refurbished and was lovely. There were two single beds and a put-you-up bed which was fine. The bathroom was beautiful... More

The whole hotel is old - it even smells old. The hallways are narrow. Our room was hot, badly ventilated and moist. The room had wall to wall carpet. The shower was really cramped. The breakfast was good, but the whole hotel smelled like bacon. The neighborhood was quiet and nice. St. Pancras, Kings Cross and Euston train stations is... More

This is the second hotel I've stayed at in Cartwright Gardens. To be honest, the hotels are pretty indistinguishable. The singles in this hotel evidently vary a lot, but if you end up with a larger one, you'll pay a larger price too. Having a larger room confers no benefit I could detect, since it just means you'll be stumbling... More

I've stayed at the Crescent a few times over the years. It continues to be very clean, and the staff is helpful and pleasant. Several things are getting worn or dated, though: the carpeting is fraying in places, my mattress needed either turning or replacement, and there are far too few electric points for modern travelers (one must unplug the... Staying in Bloomsbury

Neighborhood Profile
Bloomsbury
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.
