I stayed at the Hotel Indigo Tower Hill on a recent business trip to London. This hotel feels more like a boutique hotel. It's quaint and homey. My room had a decorative brick wall which added a nice ambiance. The room was a good size and the bathroom was spacious as well. The amenities were nice. There were several chairs to sit in other than the bed. There were a number of plugs to plug things into. The mini-refrigerator had some water and snacks that were complimentary. The hotel is close to a number of restaurants and tourist sites as well. There is a tube station within a block or so of the hotel (Aldgate). Overall, I highly recommend and when back on business will be staying here.
We chose to stay at Indigo Hotel, Tower Hill because it is a well placed hotel in the heart of the Square Mile close to Aldgate Tube station, also because we had stayed before and knew what to expect. Check in was friendly and straightforward, we were recognised as IHG Spire Ambassador Members and we were upgraded to an Executive Room. The room was spacious and although it was road facing it was very quiet due to good soundproofing. The exposed brickwork gave the room a lot of character, it was very nice to have a small seating area which was a great place to relax in the morning with a coffee. At the time we visited there were renovation works taking place on the ground floor, the restaurant wasn't available and with only breakfast being the only dining option which we didn't try unfortunately. The hotel is fantastic with highly approachable and attentive staff in central location, hopefully we will stay again in the near future.…
I was a guest of this hotel with my wife from January 8th to 11th, 4 nights. Check in was very hasty, they didn't acknowledge my status (Diamond Elite) nor did they offer me an upgrade or late checkout, only breakfast. My room (401, a King Bed Premium) got very noisy during the night, probably a problem with the air conditioning system or some water pipes: there is a constant annoying noise even with the air conditioning off. I let the front desk assistant know about it, but she looked like she didn’t care, she didn’t even offer to change my room, despite hotel was almost empty. The first night they didn't clean the room, the excuse was that I should have left the tag with the words "please clean the room" outside the room, the most absurd thing I've ever heard. The breakfast is worthy of a 2* motel, poor and with low quality products. The waiter (only one, but there were no guests, as I wrote above and now, I know why) was particularly rude. Due to my health condition, I have a special diet for breakfast, organic nuts, whole yoghurt and milk and celiac crackers, which I usually buy from shops near the hotel while I am travelling. I have never had any problem in any hotel eating what is part of my daily diet. Instead, at Indigo, on the third morning (but not the first two mornings...), the waiter told me that I could only eat what was in the restaurant and not the food I brought. It’s only possible to eat my food in my room, he added, kicking me out of the restaurant. I explained the reason why I have a special diet; I also spoke (when she arrived, one hour after I was kicked out from the restaurant) with the front desk manager, but according to her, due to an unspecified "health and safety" rule, it was not possible bring my food there. As for the manager, I have never come across such an arrogant, unattentively rude person in 35 years of traveling the world, she was just keep on repeating the same phrase, “health and safety rules”, without even listen and understand why I did that. Again, besides being an IHG Diamond Elite, I'm also Bonvoy Platinum, and I've never had this happen to me anywhere in the world. The most annoying thing was the way they treated me; they are not at all courteous nor willing to solve problems. It looks like they just don’t care. I guess it’s only a management problem though, as all the other Indigo I visited (London Kensington, USA, and Hong Kong) I've always found myself very well. I will never go back, and I do not recommend anyone to stay there.…
Stayed in a number of Hotel Indigo places in the past and I had high hopes for this one, but I came away thinking it's an odd little hotel. The reception is quite small and unwelcoming with these whacking great oversized chairs which are completely useless as a place for guests to sit, they should just have a two or three seater sofa, that would be far more practical and comfortable. Staff were friendly and attentive, check in was quite quick. Our room was big but the decor is really strange. You've got images of London landmarks on the walls but oriental style furniture, what's that all about? We had a four poster bed which was huge and comfortable, but avoiding the large posts when getting up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom was a task in itself... I found myself very close to walking into one a few times. The bathroom needs work. The toilet seat is very uncomfortable, the shower tray sags in the middle and there was mould on the ceiling due to poor ventilation. The shelving at the side of the shower needs replacing as it's looking well past its best. We didn't have breakfast as we wanted to try places locally, but the menu looked fairly extensive. Room service was on request only... which seems to be the thing with most hotel chains post Covid, I think its a money saving exercise rather than a personal safety issue as all restrictions have been lifted. Room service should be offered as normal. Probably won't stay again... there were a couple of modern hotels opposite which looked more welcoming. Think IHG Group need to have a look at this and have a think about how it can up its game a little given the local competition. …
I chose this hotel because of the location between two tube stops. The front desk staff was very inviting and helpful, We happened to be there after the Queen had died and many roads from Heathrow into the city were closed, so our driver took various roads to get us to where we were going. There were six of us, so we had three rooms. the rooms were clean, the room was fairly large. a big bathroom (shower did not have great pressure or really hot water. There was really no place to place your clothes when you went to take a shower. You had to ask for room service, as they did not come up on their own. I think they were very short staffed. This seems to be a problem in the US also. There is a small cafe on the first floor and they were traing several people while we were there, but they were very nice. We actually wanted to see The Skygarden first, and it is only a 15 minute walk from the hotel. One of the reasons we chose it. The Tower of London is about a 20 minute walk. The two tube stops made it super convenient. We generally use Aldage as it was about a 8-10 minute walk. Tower of London Bridge was about a 15 minute walk.…
Two nights in a King size executive room (#206) for a business trip. Perfect location. Kind front-desk staff. Clean but freezing room. No heating either in the bedroom (was out of order, got repaired later) or bathroom (had been turned off). It took a long time to see the temperature rise. The "Bath" room had no bath only a shower, not powerful enough. Furthermore, the layout was inconvenient (no space to store personal items near the sink, etc.). Some noise coming from the street (room overlooking India / Minories corner). Daily room cleaning is on-demand only, somehow strange as this service is included in the daily price... Free minibar with acceptable offerings. I did not try the restaurant, only opened for breakfast (had been warned). Overall, an average stay.
Stunning room, four poster bed, very spacious. Immaculately clean. Great location just near Tower Bridge. Plenty of places to eat nearby and a few minutes from 2 tube stations. Staff extremely helpful and attentive. Would definitely stay here again.
Fantastic and Comfy bed made a great nights sleep. Shower was powerful. Nice touches with the nespresso coffee. Loved the breakfast too. 5 stars for me.Location brilliant. Only comment would be a fresh milk would be am great touch in the minibar.
We stayed here for four nights. The hotel is conveniently situated for tube and DLR travel and although just minutes from busy Tower Bridge was in a quiet location. The room and bathroom were a good size and were spotlessly clean with quality bed linen, toiletries and towels. There was a fridge with complimentary snacks as well as tea/coffee making facilities. We checked in early and left our luggage as the room wasn't ready, and on our return found the cases had been taken to the room, which was a nice touch. Reception was friendly and efficient. We would definitely recommend this hotel and the area itself for a London stay.
Lovely hotel, stayed one night on points, had an upgrade to the 7th floor, nice room, big bed, nice enough bathroom, shower not the best, very high up and poor stream. Shame you can’t open the door and go out onto the decking to sit, would have been lovely. Restaurant and bar shut apart from breakfast so didn’t use. Very near Aldgate and Tower Hill tube stations. Had a nice stroll across Tower Bridge in the morning. Well placed would recommend.
