I've enjoyed staying and eating here for several years now, but the place is going downhill, especially on the food front. The restaurant is good value and the food is good but the service is appalling. Badly organised, slow, with staff unable to speak English - and rude into the bargain. My pre-theatre meal was supposed to start at 17:00... More

Food, pate, steak pudding, ginger pud for our pre-booked function ok, service slow after main course, bar fine but function room way too small for our needs and manager indifferent to the point of rudeness. Best avoid, they do not seem keen on our sort of small function

I was expecting something a little more upmarket, it seems like office workers and retired public transport service club. However staff were great and the portions huge. Basic British dishes, big portions and plenty of beer. Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves ..

First time here. Booked in through agent. Got a room on 5th floor. Tired and pokey. In desperate need of a refit. Bed was very comfortable though and bed linen clean. WIFI in room didn't work on any of my 3 devices I tried. They connected with router but no Internet signal! The reception was ok with friendly staff and... More

Had dinner here last night. While the waiting staff tried the whole sitting was a shambles. As the food was being brought out they called out what it was and the customers had to put the hands up to claim a dish. The organisation was s shambles. A shame because the food was ok.

This hotel is right in the thick of it. The staff are great and can't do enough for you. The food is excellent value - fish and chips for £7.95. 3 course meal for 2 for £16.95. You can walk to most attractions in London from here. We have been members for years and it is truly worth every penny.... More

Arrived and was greeted by a welcoming receptionist. Provided with details for my room and breakfast. Bar located on ground floor serving food as well. Bar had a really good atmosphere. Room very clean and tidy. A plus was having hot chocolate drink as most hotels I've stayed in only offer coffee or tea. Bed very comfortable and being in... More

Myself and a number of ex work colleagues (mostly now retired) meet up here on a monthly basis. Normally for a few drinks and some of us also have a lunch. We also had our pre Christmas lunch here. We always look forward to the next meeting, in pleasant surroundings with very helpful friendly staff.

I joined the Civil Service Club years ago to make use of a local amenity for business meetings and to get away from the office. Found it to be convenient, welcoming, value for money but best of all, of excellent quality. After a somewhat lengthy absence, I met up with a friend in the dining room to try out their... More

Staying in Westminster

Neighborhood Profile
Westminster
If you only had an afternoon to experience London on a grand scale, Westminster would be a wise place to start. The ornate Houses of Parliament and Westminster Abbey sit adjacent at a corner of Parliament Square, and a short stroll along The Mall leads to Buckingham Palace. Trafalgar Square and Nelson's Column are just up the road as well. As captivating as the architecture is, the wonders of Mother Nature are highlights of the area too. St James's Park (arguably London's loveliest), the expansive Green Park, and pedestrian friendly tree lined paths along the river showcase the exquisite manicure provided by English gardeners. Just beyond the landmarks and the gorgeous outdoor spaces, quiet residential squares and age old local pubs offer a more subdued take on this global seat of power in the heart of London.
