Wealth courses through The King's Road, Chelsea's upmarket artery of West London life packed with shops, eateries and glitzy nightspots. For people-watching at its best and luxury retail therapy that's largely unrivalled, this area cannot be missed. But if this showy street starts to overwhelm or a moment of price tag shock sends you reeling, a quick detour down pretty much any of many King's Road veins will reveal a quieter side of Chelsea. Here the stately Royal Hospital hosts its world-famous flower show, and the Thames rolls along at a lazy pace, with leafy Battersea Park and its Peace Pagoda beckoning from across the river.

My other half booked a surprise get away to London and booked this hotel. I hadn’t seen any reviews as I didn’t know where we were going so was completely open minded. The location is wonderful and quiet and felt completely safe at all times. The staff were superb and helpful. Leaving your luggage wasn’t an issue either. Checkin was easy. Found some lovely restaurants and cafes nearby and so close to the museums. Lots of places walkable to. The room was immaculate and super clean and the bed super comfy. If you are only staying 2 or 3 nights or are out all the time it’s perfect. A longer stay may be challenging as the room was tiny and having to climb over your other half if you got the wall side of the bed was amusing in the short term. As London was 33 degrees the room was really hot but we did have two fans. I think trip advisor need a good star rating as this was above average but not very good. I would stay again in cooler weather. Great value especially for the location.

On the upside... Great location, good free wifi, feels safe, clean room, comfy bed and lovely chap on reception. On the downside... very compact and slightly odd room. At first the room looked quite smart but everything is a bit cheap and doesnt quite work ie no plug for kettle other than on a ledge, no bedside light or switch and TV only had a few channels (had to watch BBC on iplayer). A fair price in London for this would be £100 to £120 per night.

We stayed here after meeting friends for dinner in Kensington. It is in an ideal spot it was very well priced and clean. Overall it would have been fine for a nights stay, however it was just far too hot so much so we left at 8 am to go home as we just couldn’t get comfortable. So it’s got many good points but I won’t be staying again

This is a great example of getting what you pay for. We got this room fairly cheap and were impressed by the pictures. The room had a very modern feel with a lovely but small bathroom. Overall the room was quite small however since we were quite busy whilst we were in London this wasn’t too much of a bother. Great little base for exploring London with only a 10 ish minute walk to the nearest underground station. Nice and quiet on the 4th floor, however lack of a lift left us a bit out of breath after carrying our suitcases. We were left regretting turning down the offer of help with our bags. Great area with plenty to do and feels very posh with plenty of Aston Martins and Porsche’s lining the streets. We were very impressed with the comfy bed and modern smart TV great for watching Netflix, iPlayer etc..

I’m so glad I read other reviews. I packed a fan - it made the stay bearable. We were in a room on the ground floor at the back. The window only opened slightly - great for security but not to get much air into the room. Very clean and comfy bed. Couple more tea bags would have been nice. Could hear steps from room above but heard worse. The fan drowned out sound from lobby area - which was only brief when people came and went. This was fine for one night.
