Honestly had one of the worst stays in this hotel. Im actually furious! I asked to upgrade from a studio to a delux and pay for it but was denied!!! Paid £90 for a night in a room which was damaged, grubby and dirty. I imagine in 1990 the hotel looked nice but seems like it hasn't had any maintaince since then. Everything was broken - lamp, shower head hanging, remote, bedhead and soap dispenser! The bed was 'king' bed was 2 single beds pushed together with a hard edges which could not be slept on! Everything was dirty and grubby, didnt sleep at all all night.. The TV is 18' or 20' with no internet connection. I actually want a refund for the fact that i couldn't upgrade my room n the bed was 2single beds and the service was poor
I just made a reservation for this hotel. Thus, I’ve not stayed yet. Would like to inform that the hotel no longer provide breakfast, as per information from the hotel direct. I hope they will reverse their decision in the near future...
We had booked a studio apartment through our travel agent as she had been advised it was the only room with a guaranteed walk in shower which was a requirement for us. The best I can say about the room was that I'm glad we hadn't brought a cat with us because there wasn't enough space to swing it. Absolutely no to put a single suitcase let alone two. The fridge door was broken, power had been turned off to the dishwasher and cook top and then the handle on the bathroom door fell off. We were told by the porter who came to fix that problem that another guest had been stuck in the bathroom for several hours with the same problem. When we went to use the shower it collapsed and the chap who came to fix it was wearing a rain coat when he arrived because he already knew what the problem was. We were moved the following morning to a 1 bed room apartment which surprise did have a walk in shower which you could actually step into and move around but switching lights on off anywhere required a degree in technology it was so complicated. There were no sheers on any windows so no privacy at all unless the broken blinds were completely lowered. A very light continental breakfast pack was delivered each morning which was fine except the coffee had the flavour of burnt tyres. Housekeeping staff were friendly enough but the front desk people, especially the evening manager was insolent bordering on downright rude.…
The only reason I am giving this a "4" is because we stood up and demanded better. Our first "Apartment" was too small to open a suitcase. We have never seen a "studio" this cramped, it was smaller than a simple bedroom. Power to the washing machine had been turned off at the meter board, the bathroom door handle fell off ("oh that happened a while back too and the guest couldn't get out of the bathroom" we were told). no plug for the "kitchen" sink, shower taps were too stiff (the concierge came wearing a raincoat!), cutlery tray was broken, no Compendium, a downlight out in the "kitchen". white curtains were grey with dirt. In the end we just cracked up when something else went wrong - all in 30 hours. Fawlty Towers? Apartment No. 2 was larger - one of the bedlights didn't work and the powerpoint near the sink was hanging down/broken. English beds are smaller than ours in Australia. The coffee that came with Breakfast was awful. Staff at the front desk were generally surly with the exception of the fellow who helped with luggage, loved his monogrammed slippers and he was generally chirpy! The location is quiet and convenient.…
We had accommodation booked here for one week at the first week of May costing us $2550 AUD. Coming from Australia, due to travel restrictions we have had to cancel our trip. Unlike other hotels that we have booked, they have not sympathy for our situation and refuse to allow us the reschedule.
