Came here with my 13 year old son - had accidentally booked double room, which was changed with no fuss at all to twin room. Reception was super friendly, helpful& accommodating. The highlight was that our room was in the 6th floor with a lovely view! Beds a little too soft for my liking. To the tube an easy 10... More

This fairly small hotel is immaculate and stylishly furnished in a modern and quirky style. The rooms were a decent size with comfortable furnishings. The terrace was a quite big and offered a view of the square. The bathroom was equipped with good quality vanity items. Staff were effective and friendly. If recommend booking in for breakfast, although pork wasn't... More

We were surprised that a room such a stylish hotel would cost so little! It's only a few minutes on foot away from Tower Bridge, but the neighbourhood is very quiet and pleasant, no noisy tourists or anything. It is also worth mentioning that the staff was very helpful and friendly - a real pleasure to interact with. Even though... More

Great location to central London and brilliant staff knowledge of the local area. Nothing was too much trouble and all the staff were very clued up on local goings on! The food was delicious. Very good value for money Well done!

We stayed at the Bermondsey because it is very close to our son who lives in London so that was the only reason we chose it. We were pleasantly surprised at how nice it was. It's only a short walk to the London Tower bridge, and also close to the Shard. Our room was excellent, the view was fantastic, bed... More

We booked this hotel to celebrate our 30th Wedding Anniversary and were very pleased with both the hotel and its location. The Bermondsey Square Hotel is situated in a very pleasant area of London just a 10 minute walk from London Bridge Station. The hotel is modern and comfortable and the staff were helpful and friendly. We had a suite... More

We came here to check out the area and celebrate my husband's birthday. Overall, the hotel is in a great location and the rooms are comfortable. Our disappointment came from the poor level of service. We had a B&B accommodation for 2 people and were looking forward to our English breakfast (which we were reminded about at check-in). The breakfast... More

This hotel has transformed big time! I booked a Terrace Room (which was a newly created room). Bricklayers room! the room is excellent, with everything in it. The things that makes ur stay a bit off: STOP the banging doors. I stayed across from an office-type room.. and the doors kept banging. Housekeeping should be briefed to keep noise to... More

Staying in Southwark

Neighborhood Profile
Southwark
Even before the arrival of the instantly iconic Shard, the riverside scene in Southwark had moved well beyond any up-and-coming phase of development. For quite some time, locals and out-of-towners alike have loved browsing the boutiques of Bermondsey High Street, foraging through the bounteous stalls at centuries old foodie haven Borough Market, and flocking to the banks of the Thames to enjoy some of Britain's biggest attractions such as Tate Modern and Shakespeare's Globe. Despite Southwark's many popular draws, instant calm can be achieved easily by turning down almost any side street. For more urban buzz, a quick stroll across famed bridges like the pedestrianized Millennium Bridge or the ever photogenic Tower Bridge yields access to the very core of Central London. And with London Bridge Station as this neighborhood's main transportation hub, getting across town (or to anywhere in England for that matter) is a relative breeze.
