Stayed here as on the list for a Virgin experience for the shard. Firstly parking I'm not sure where it is luckily found a space on the local housing estate . Hotel reception is a glass screen with a clip board . We were supposed to be upgraded I would hate to have seen the other room. Some of the...

Stayed for one night. About ten minute walk from tower bridge so great location. Rooms very clean, good strong shower, complimentary magazines in room with complimentary free use of mobile phone and wifi. Air conditioning was good and quiet. Black out curtains and really comfy bed meant a great nights sleep Breakfast was superb. Full Veggie breakfast followed by croissants,...

I was really looking forward to staying here as it's in such a great part of London but what a total disappointment. We rented the Lucy suite on the top floor with the hot tub, and although the views were great, the room was scruffy with chipped paintwork and curtains hanging off the tracks. There were coffee making facilities -...

We really liked this hotel it was clean and modern. We had a great view from our room, as you can see from the picture. The room was really nice and the shower room was too. The main downside was the hotel wasn't close to a tube station and someone had been smoking on our floor, I was surprised the...

The new hotel has some weaknesses. You can't open the windows in the room, so the clima inside is very very bad especially while sleeping. In the bathroom was mold and it smelled like this. The breakfast was limited and the quality was low.

Booked this for a birthday trip to theShard. Clean stylish hotel with a beautiful terrace room. Walking distance to the Shard. No bar but we had a light afternoon snack at the hotel of whitebait which was delicious. It is acceptable to take your own alcohol into the hotel if you wish. Close to bars and restaurants. Would recommend. Would...

This hotel is young, cool and different. Enjoyed our stay, the area around the hotel was quiet but easy to get anywhere. About 20 minutes walk to the tower bridge. The room seemed tidy, shower was lovely. Only downfall, there was a stain across the carpet near our bed. Apart from that enjoyable stay, would stay again

My wife and I stayed there recently for a few nights. The location is very good ,ten minutes brisk walk from London Bridge tube station, and not very far from the Thames and the Tower of London. The area has been tastefully rejuvenated in recent years and is very clean and safe. The hotel is a no-drink hotel ,but if...

Staying in Southwark

Neighborhood Profile
Southwark
Even before the arrival of the instantly iconic Shard, the riverside scene in Southwark had moved well beyond any up-and-coming phase of development. For quite some time, locals and out-of-towners alike have loved browsing the boutiques of Bermondsey High Street, foraging through the bounteous stalls at centuries old foodie haven Borough Market, and flocking to the banks of the Thames to enjoy some of Britain's biggest attractions such as Tate Modern and Shakespeare's Globe. Despite Southwark's many popular draws, instant calm can be achieved easily by turning down almost any side street. For more urban buzz, a quick stroll across famed bridges like the pedestrianized Millennium Bridge or the ever photogenic Tower Bridge yields access to the very core of Central London. And with London Bridge Station as this neighborhood's main transportation hub, getting across town (or to anywhere in England for that matter) is a relative breeze.
