This hotel ticks all the necessary boxes and is definitely worth the extras you may have to pay. Not too over crowded and the staff are all very helpful and welcoming. The hotel has a very nice reception area which is of a vintage design and the continental breakfast is good whether you want hot drinks and pastries or more... More

Whilst the hotel has no bar of it's own (there are a couple of very nice bars on the square however) the facilities are good and the rooms nice, clean and well maintained. You are a 12 minute walk from London Bridge stations and the Shard; with many local restaurants and wine bars on the way. When we stayed (July... More

Spent the weekend in Bermondsey and chose this hotel for its location to all the shops and bars. It did not disappoint. The hotel manager was very welcoming and ensured we had a comfortable stay. The rooms were spotless and our view of the London skyline was a million dollars. We enjoyed the free papers and coffee in the lobby... More

Central and accessible with casual but efficient service. Cool place for a quick getaway with lots of places to eat just on your doorstep on Bermondsy street. There is a restaurant on the premises too as well as some rooms with good views.

The room was very small although we had a view of the Shard!! The shower was difficult to move around and we are not that big in size. Basic for the price and a disappointing stay as we had seen the website before we had booked and we feel that the room we had wasn't representative of the rooms shown... More

Quiet and quirky hotel on Tower Bridge Rd south of the river Rooms were clean and the hotel was quiet in the evening, bathroom had a great shower but no bath. Didn't have breakfast so cant comment on the food. Staff were friendly. Don't think they serve drinks in the bar although the receptionist told us we could bring outside... More

we stayed here for one night. If it had been longer i would have not stayed. when we arrived we were given a room which was more designed for disabled people. it had cords in bathroom and either side of bed. the toilet was higher than normal and was generally of a poor standard. the dressing table left a lot... Stay here. We loved this hotel - in fact, we returned to it at the end of our stay after fleeing another hotel across town. The calmer neighborhood, friendly staff and onsite cool restaurant were just what we needed to be comfortable. There is a market across the square, and easy walking to pubs and tube stops. The rooms were... More

The location is convenient, a 5-10 car ride south of Tower Bridge. The nearest tube station is a little bit of a walk, but we used Uber to tower bridge for only about £6. Staff is friendly, restaurant in the hotel and right out front, cute courtyard with cinema and small grocery. Rooms are spacious, beds are comfy, price is... More

I'd chosen this hotel based on Tripadvisor reviews and was hoping it would live up to expectations since I was booking for an anniversary surprise. In short - it did. The hotel is about a 10-15 minute walk from Tower Bridge or a 35 minute walk from Waterloo. Upon arrival we were greeted warmly by the staff and I really... More

Staying in Southwark

Neighborhood Profile
Southwark
Even before the arrival of the instantly iconic Shard, the riverside scene in Southwark had moved well beyond any up-and-coming phase of development. For quite some time, locals and out-of-towners alike have loved browsing the boutiques of Bermondsey High Street, foraging through the bounteous stalls at centuries old foodie haven Borough Market, and flocking to the banks of the Thames to enjoy some of Britain's biggest attractions such as Tate Modern and Shakespeare's Globe. Despite Southwark's many popular draws, instant calm can be achieved easily by turning down almost any side street. For more urban buzz, a quick stroll across famed bridges like the pedestrianized Millennium Bridge or the ever photogenic Tower Bridge yields access to the very core of Central London. And with London Bridge Station as this neighborhood's main transportation hub, getting across town (or to anywhere in England for that matter) is a relative breeze.
