Travelers' Choice
Today’s rock’n’roll hotel is less about threats of incidental bodily harm and more about a glamorously decadent atmosphere, and the new model is a place like the Sanctum Soho. Here it means a dash of modern minimalism, a sprinkling of baroque opulence, and an emphasis on the darker end of the color palette. The in-room electronics are totally up to date, while some throwback touches are retained for atmosphere’s sake. It’s a twenty-four-hour hotel with a liberal, tolerant service concept; what you want, you’ll get, without so much as a raised eyebrow. In that, it’s not so fundamentally different from some of London’s more conservative luxury hotels — it just feels naughtier.

Karma Sanctum = best hotel in London by a mile and more. Purely down to its stunning deco, phenomenal staff and an atmosphere you can’t even imagine. It is THE BEST. They have a hot tub on the terrace, there is literally nothing that I could fault for Karma Sanctum. Even my dog is a massive fan because they allow them. I have been here many times and will continue to do so; nothing better than this place. Love you guys and couldn’t recommend this place more if I tried. If you want to make memories to last a life time, stay in this hotel. X

Stayed last week for 1 night. Had the quirky suite on the top floor with the mini balcony (perfect for me as a committed cigarette smoker). Nadir in the restaurant was fantastic, made everything so much fun! Ended up in the rooftop hot tub at about 3-4am with a random bunch of party-party people. Tremendous fun!! Would definitely visit again. (Only real negative for me was that last orders in restaurant were 10pm on a Friday - a little early for a rock'n'roll hotel, I felt). Apart from that - ALL good!

Made to feel very welcome with very friendly and highly personalised service. Close to major shopping streets, Soho's bars and restaurants, and 3 minutes from the tube. Breakfast was delicious too. Felt very spoiled!

Amazing trip to London. The hotel is in the perfect location for shopping, eating and theatre world. The decor is unique and fun with some amazing pieces of artwork. The atmosphere is great and has an amazing cocktail bar and roof terrace. Despite being in central London and a lively atmosphere the rooms were quiet and the beds were comfy. But what stood out most about our return to the sanctum was the exceptional customer service provided by the whole team. Special thanks to Nadir who was always there when you needed something and made amazing cocktails! Andrea on reception was also super helpful Will be back again soon from Mr Pornstar Martini!

Wow Wow Wow … Really ???? Totally underwhelmed…. Let’s start with the plosives …Loved the decor throughput the hotel , great location . Check in went ok . Negatives , let’s start from the top . Roof terrace I’m afraid didn’t live up to the expectations we read on the site & on tripadvisor . We went up about 21.00 , only a few people up there , my partner & I couldn’t chat without shouting as the music was so loud , the barmen noticed this , smirked & turned it down . Ordered two double pink gins which arrived in two warm plastic glasses that resembled half lager glasses , ice may not of as well been in there Also no leg room whilst sitting at table . Went down to the main bar & ordered ( eventually) two more pink gins , these came in proper glass glasses but not the sort you would expect in a chic hotel/cocktail bar . Unimpressed we moved out of the hotel to get a drink elsewhere, we used the Leicester Arms at the bottom of the road where again we ordered ( you guessed it ) two double pink gins which came out in chilled gin glasses , crushed ice a strawberry & a leaf of mint . Room . Looked nice but easy to see faults such as water splash/damp under a window ( Staines paper) lots of chips in skirting & black marks on the wall in toilet . There was a stench in the room which we pointed out to the fella on reception on Sat evening His reply “ I only go in for two mins” ..I tried to investigate where the smell was coming from & thought I’d traced it to the pebbles beneath the bath , I picked a handful up & had a hand of damp hair & pebbles which made me feel sick . . As it was our wedding night we had a scribbled note next to bed saying “ happy anniversary “ plus no to free glasses of Prosecco as promised ( on booking invoice) . Breakfast was only two tables in the bar at 09.00 & the waitress was struggling ..we tried to explain we had pre paid but she seemed to struggle with this . I asked for some bread with my cooked breakfast only to be told “ I shouldn’t need it as there was pastries “ ..the pastries came the same time as cooked breakfast & the bread when I’d nearly finished . Check out ..tried to air our concerns but the lovely lady kept smiling , saying sorry over & over & told us next time we book she will up grade us free of charge . She did offer half off our drinks bill which we thought should of been more but on reflection we just wanted to leave without causing a scene & further upset as this was a wedding night to truly forget …

Response from Sherene Fuller , General Manager at Karma Sanctum Soho

Dear Guest Many thanks for taking the time to share your experience We are so terribly sorry you had a poor stay Frankly , we are struggling with all types of staff from reception to maintenance in an attempt to keep up with the massive demand post covid. In fact its impossible to find even the simplest painter and decorator to actually come and work , so we are doing it ourselves let alone housekeepers and wait staff. You will hopefully note from other reviews that this is not our normal level of service and we are devastated to have let you down. We apologise for you not liking the polycarbonate glasses but this is a safety issue as the rooftop features a residents jacuzzi and we try to keep you safe to enjoy our amenities. We have taken your comments on board and thank you for pointing out our failings Again apologies , this is sadly a reflection of difficult times for our industry that we thought we were keeping ahead of but clearly not. We hope one day you can find it in your heart to give us another chance where we will offer the stay you deserve
