Had a short stay at the Mandrake and wasn’t sure what to expect. We had a good time and the staff were all very friendly. Very differ concept. The room was nice but compact, the mini bar area was well decorated. Great toiletries in the bathroom and perfect water pressure in the shower. Had drinks in the Waeska Bar and the staff were all very accommodating. Hotel is in a great central location. Downside is the views from the room and overall lighting in the property was quite dark, was aware of this however from some reviews.

We were on a whistle stop visit to London and booked a night at The Mandrake as it was central to where we were dining that evening and an event we were attending the following morning. The rooms were of a good standard and quite quirky which gave it a unique feel. The location is great for a quick walk into the heart of the city and the views from the rooms all look out onto a central atrium which was tastefully decorated with a huge Christmas tree and illuminated balustrades. The downside is the quirky key lock that was over fiddly for its intended purpose and the fact that despite the minibar being stocked with every conceivable beverage there was no milk for the teas and coffee's provided. I am sure that reception would have sent some up but when you just want a quick cup of tea and a shower you don't need to be waiting for room service. We had a cab booked for 9am and arranged to meet the rest of our party for breakfast at eight only to find that there was nobody available to staff the kitchen. The staff were really apologetic but we couldn't wait the additional hour until the kitchen was open so left without eating. The staff were exceptionally personable and professional and were very aware of Covid rules and preventative measures which made the hotel feel very safe. However overall the hotel is more 4 star than 5 star if that is something you care about.

Amazing hotel, the hotel staff was very friendly and nice, the room was very clean and comfortable, the location is perfect. Two things was little bit not so good, the bar staff was not that friendly and The opening of the door to the room is really annoying, the mess is excessive and incomprehensible. The mechanism is uncomfortable.

Will not be going back to this place . Unfortunately the experience was terrible from start to finish . Noisy , arrogant clients , lacks class . Room was ok , clean and has what you need and expect in a 5 star hotel , however this place should be classed as a 3 star hotel .
