We were treated to a night at this wonderful wonderful public house. It is truly an amazing place. What we always come away thinking about is the exceptional level of staff engagement - even when they are flat out they are just so simply polite and eager to please their customers. We stayed in the most sumptuous of rooms. Unbelievable style and elegance in the honeymoon suite. Tradition blending well with modernity. If you love a very traditional authentic early Victorian pub then the only place to go is The Half Moon. Food of course was amazing.

Stayed here for a midweek break as we were going to a gig at the Brixton Academy that evening. We checked in earlier than planned and left our bags safely at the reception and went to explore the area for a few hours whilst we waited until 3pm. Conveniently found a driveway parking up the road too from the just park app. When we arrived we were shown to our room by a lovely lady. I can't remember her name sadly. She talked us through the various things around the room we'd need to know, like how the coffee machine worked and the tv operation that pops up from the bottom of the bed. Then she told us how to get in later on after our night out as the main doors will be locked. We were given our key card and left us to our suite. We had booked room 10 the Armstrong Suite which didn't disappoint! The bed was huge and soft. I kept losing my partner as it was so wide. Also there are 2 sofas a coffee table and also a huge tv on the wall. We couldn't seem to get a picture on the bed tv. But I'm sure if id called the reception they would have sorted this out but we weren't overly bothered about that. The bath and sink area was very pretty . My wife was upset she didn't get to use it . But the walk in shower on the other hand we both used in the morning. Very hot and powerful with a gigantic shower head that falls on you from above like rain. There's also a regular sized head you can use separately if you wanted. The only thing I'd mention about the gorgeous shower room was that the loo was really tall. So my feet couldn't actually touch the floor when sitting ! My wife said the same thing about this it's not a complaint just an observation. The traffic noise out side didn't really bother us . But if you want a peaceful wake up you won't get one. Again, not a complaint really as we were fully aware the hotel is situated on a large busy junction. However was perfect for our trip to the Concert we attended. The breakfast menu was vast and wonderful. We both had the full English. Which was Amazing and right up there with the best . Quality ingredients and served by a lovely waitress who greeted us when we entered the dining area. All the staff we very attentive and friendly. Especially Ben who checked our bags in early for us and later served our drinks in the bar before we ventured out. We were pleased to catch up with him on the morning of our departure though to say goodbye. He asked about how the concert went ect. If we ever visit the area again would definitely book again . All the rooms at this property looked great. But if you do happen to book the suite , you will definitely not be disappointed.

Super service from happy servers. Great to see dedicated staff working as a team, Ben & co. should be very proud. Well kept, properly poured beer. Not the biggest Fullers fan but SO much better than the many sub-standard offerings I’ve paid top price for on this trip. Thank you!

Fullers pubs are always expensive, and this is no exception. Prices have increased markedly since the lockdowns, so that a pint of Asahi or Peroni is almost £6.50. They now also have the gall to add on a hefty service charge, even if you are having just a pint, for the barstaff to pour and carry your beer a few metres to your table. This isnt mentioned and obviously with current covid rules, you have no other choice. So that £6.50 beer ends up costing over £7! Perhaps this is to top up staff wages, as Fuller's do not like to pay above the minimum wage. With prices so high, you'd expect them to have a decent garden with cover and heaters for when it rains or it cold. This isnt the case- most outside tables are not covered, and there are no heaters. There is a sorry looking fire pit, which is hardly ever lit. Avoid.

Good afternoon Shivering_Slug13, Thank you for taking the time to leave this feedback. We regularly review our prices to remain competitive with other local pubs and restaurants and we hope that the added value of drinking and dining in a beautiful Grade II* listed building goes some way towards justifying these prices. A discretionary service charge of 12.5% may be added to your bill. The value of the service charge is printed on all bills as is a note explaining that it's optional and we are always more than happy to remove this when asked. During the colder months we were lighting our fire pit every night. As the nights grow warmer we've been lighting the fire less frequently but if you're ever feeling chilly then please ask one of our team and we will happily light it for you. We do have some cover for our outside tables in the form of parasols and we are currently looking into getting additional cover for the remaining spaces in our gardens. Hopefully this will be installed later this year. I hope you'll give us another chance in the future. Kind regards, Patrick
