Arrived at the hotel in the afternoon, the manager greeted us by the door, very welcoming, I asked to see the room before payment, which he didn't mind. We had booked a family room, which was small (not enough room to swing a cat) & very basic, but for the price for 3 of us in the location was great....

Very shabby and run down with a very poor breakfast. Seems as if it's not been upgraded since the 1950s. But the chap running it was pleasant enough. Room very cramped, access to wash basin only by kneeling on the bed. Bathroom between floors and very decrepit. It really needs a complete renovation.

Staying at the Albany gave me a flashback to when my wife and I used to visit London before we could afford to stay at a hotel. It is called Albany hotel but it is more like a bed and breakfast. Having said that this is far from the worst place I have stayed at in London. The location is...

Oh dear Oh dear! Not what we expected and FAR too pricey as well. Good point they had our dog. Bad: decor bizarre and eccentric. Breakfast - one table crowded toast rations handed out and mini coffee portions; corn flakes already in bowls - hygiene!!!!!!!!!!!!! Room incredible like a cell. Much unloved in need of a facelift and other surgery!

Stayed here for an overnight visit for a conference. The rooms are very basic and I know people always use "London prices" to justify high costs in London but I felt £139 for a night was excessive for a room that only had a shared bathroom. The owner was very friendly but I just feel that the place is very...

This is one of the most dirty, filthy, grotty, broken down, ramshackle hotels I have ever seen. The location is the only positive. I booked on a last minute Saturday evening panic and accepted that for 120£ it was a sh$thole for that reason only but when the bed broke underneath me (and I am by no means a heavy...

Awful place, reminded me of a cheap run down bedsit in Southend on sea, but that's not the worse bit, we arrived on Saturday night a bit late in the evening, we got in the room and sat on the bed and the bed fell apart, wasn't able to be fixed, the manager had no idea and we had to...

I stopped in Albany Hotel with my mother for the night on a trip to London. Being from the north east we are not used to the hustle of busy cities. Albany Hotel is a great location away from all of that just off Tavistock place. Friendly environment and extremely comfortable rooms and a lovely dainty breakfast as if served...

Excellent location in central London but sadly very dirty with shared bathroom between three other bedrooms and on different level. Hotel was also quite cold when we arrived so we had to ask the manager to put the heating on which he did . The net curtains were black and we don't think they were ever washed . The furniture...

Neighborhood Profile
Bloomsbury
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.
