We were extremely disappointed with our recent stay at the “Indigo Paddington London” from 21st – 23rd September. The visit was to celebrate our 38th wedding anniversary and we had both been looking forward to it for a number of weeks. We arrived at the hotel at approx. 3pm and checked in we asked the receptionist if we could book a table for afternoon tea, that we had prepaid, we were told they are not offering afternoon tea at this time as the restaurant was closed for refurbishment. We then asked what time breakfast was served and were told if we wanted breakfast we would have to go to the Frankie & Benny café about two hundred yards up the road and they would issue us with a voucher. When using the shower on the following morning we noticed a crack in the base of the shower which had been temporarily repairs, when moving in the shower the base rippled with water under neither, we reported this to the receptionist who said, “we wondered why the ceiling in the room below you had a damp patch”. The receptionist was extremely helpful and said we better move to another room; we went upstairs and packed our belongings and went back to the reception. The girl said that the only room available was in the basement and showed us where to go. On entering the room straight away we noticed the smell of damp, the room had extraordinarily little natural light from a patio door which was not locked leading to an internal courtyard with a died pigeon (which looked like it had been there for several weeks), when I asked the receptionist if the patio door could be locked, I was told they couldn’t find the key. The first room we were in had no hair dryer, and the second room had no coffee machine and only one tea bag between two of us. We walked to the café for our breakfast on the first morning at 9.10, when we arrived, we were asked to wait outside in the que until a table was available, we ended up waiting 35 minutes before a table was ready for us. On the second morning we arrived earlier only to be told that they are full and couldn’t cope with the number of people from both hotels we were asked to come back in an hour, as we were due to depart that morning, we decided to eat somewhere else. We have stayed at a number of IHG hotels in the past and have been very satisfied, but on this occasion, we were very disappointed; No afternoon tea that we had prepaid, having to walk up the road for breakfast and being told to wait outside in the street until a table was available, and on the second morning No breakfast at all. I have written numerous emails to customer services only to be told to contact the hotel directly, I have emailed the hotel and telephoned on a number of occasions, but no one replied to the emails or returned my calls. We shall not be returning in the future

Hi Companion610384, Thank you for your recent stay and for sharing your feedback. Although we have limited service hospitality, we strive to offer a seamless and relaxing stay. I'm sorry to learn that your stay was not as comfortable as it's supposed to be because of the disappointment of not having your itinerary go as planned, and with the issues on your 1st and 2nd room. I know that this can be upsetting especially when your trip was supposed to be a relaxing one. We take feedback seriously and would like to get more info to share this with the relevant teams. I sent you a separate email and hope you respond soon. Despite some of the services not meeting your expectations, I hope you choose IHG still on your future travels. Best Regards, Jenilyn J Case Manager IHGService

As a Spire Elite member used points to book a room for my wife, her sister and kids for a trip to London for the weekend. I was really disappointed receiving my wife's comments on her return. It would seem that the room was in the cellar with little natural light and no opening windows. The TV had no remote (one was brought to the room though). There were no tea and coffee making facilities in the room, she went to reception to request some to be told by the receptionist that she should report it to someone. Is that not what she was doing reporting it to reception? They were not offered a welcome drinks on arrival either. I got the impression that because this was a priority club booking that they have tried to supply the minimum they can get away with and gave her a room that wasn't generally used, and the reason why there were items were missing from it. One a positive note though, she said most of the staff were helpful with regards to directions etc.

Hi Durham_Bloke_UK, Thank you for taking the time to write us a review and for being a valued IHG® Rewards Spire Elite member. I am concerned to read about the issues encountered with the room allocated, the missing room amenities, no welcome drinks, and the service provided by our Front Desk staff. The experience you described certainly isn’t what we want for any guest. I'm sorry we fell short on this occasion. Our goal is to deliver exceptional service and comfortable accommodations to all of our guests. I would like to assure you that these areas will be given immediate attention by hotel management. Hoping that you'll give us another chance to win you over! Best regards, Jonathan A Case Manager IHGService

Booked this hotel last minute through my IHG App and walked into the lobby to be greeted by Stan. Stan was more than helpful in booking and even upgraded our room to a Queen Suite. He also slipped us a few beer tickets which was more than welcoming hic! So we went upto our room Happy as Larry only for Stan The Man to ring us to tell us that a King Suite was available for us to use...Jackpot... just on this experience alone j will not be staying anywhere else in London again.. Top Draw and well done Stan.

We’ve just had a 2 night stay at this hotel. Our room was compact, quiet and comfortable and had all we needed. It’s in a very convenient location very close to Paddington Station and Hyde Park. The staff were very friendly and helpful whenever we spoke with them.
