The "Hotel" looks not too bad from the outside, however, as soon as you get in, the smell of damp hits you. The chinese lady who i'll assume is the owner was friendly enough, transpires she's also a Solicitor, odd combination there, a hotel owner & solicitor. Attic room was absolutely dreadful. Communal toilet & the worlds smallest shower, with... More

Unfortunately I did nor read reviews before booking. Even though booking through Booking dot.com our money was taken before visit. We had the basement room, it is unfit to let out, and certainly was not like how the web site portrayed it. As per a previous review the carpet is dirty the walls damp, the electric sockets appear unsafe. We... More

Awful place. In short. No parking So called "reception" is trash. The oxygen you breath is 99% dust. Breakfast overpriced (never bothered to eat there) Stairs to the top room are a safety hazard The top room didn't have an ensuite so you had to go down the stairs to a minuscule dirty "bathroom", the size of a port-a-loo, with... We booked this to be in Greenwich for a family wedding. If it had been for a less important reason then we would not have stayed, as it is we checked out a day early. It is a filthy place and the electrics look dodgy. Do not stay here would be my advice.

Agree with many of the other reviewers. Dated. Old mattress with little spring support. Overpriced & significantly increased for London marathon weekend! Owner wasn't particularly friendly or helpful. Poor checkin / out times (3pm-10.30am). Only has car parking space for 2 cars. However, to be fair it's in an excellent location for London marathon start & it was clean.

Throughout our stay we did not see another human being! We did see a couple of creepy crawlies, but not people! (We arrived just before 7pm and left the following morning at 10am) Our room was ok - very tatty and tired, but the beds were comfortable. The road outside was noisy - I slept fine (but I can sleep... More

When we arrived we were welcomed by a lovely woman who I believe was the owner. Easy and quick check in no thrills. What I didn't like for £105 for 2 off us there was no breakfast included within the deal. Which was a little disheartening. We expected to have a breakfast as stated on the website. Yes we would... The lady who answered the door was pleasant enough though clearly not the owner as from the multitude of Fortune Cats in the 'reception' are for this also interpret 'shrine', she is Chinese. My daughter sat down on the single bed and it was soaked, obviously from an leak from the bathroom overhead. Nice touch that instead of replacing the... More

On arrival was greeted by owner. Nice and friendly. Booked in. No problems except we were charged £23.00 for 2 full English Breakfast. I was born at night but it wasn't last night. Asked for my money back for the breakfast which was swiftly returned to also be told that we had to leave at 10.30am instead of 11.00. When... More

We were shown to the basement room. It was very basic and unwelcoming. Carpet and walls were filthy. Bathroom was not one pictured on website and was grim. Whole room and indeed hotel needed upgraded. All plug sockets in room had double plugs attached with various wires coming out for kettle, fridge, television, DVD player etc. The sockets are at... Staying in Greenwich

Neighborhood Profile
Greenwich
Greenwich Mean Time starts here, so to speak, as the very concept of global time was established at Royal Observatory, just one of several buildings of architectural interest in Greenwich. Indeed, the whole of Greenwich's historic town center, its Royal Park and a number of related buildings (and one world famous ship, the Cutty Sark) make up the UNESCO World Heritage site known as Maritime Greenwich. Today a laser beam is shot out across the night sky from the Observatory to mark the location of the Prime Meridian. Other bold (some say brash) 21st century additions to the area include landmarks such as The O2 entertainment complex (previously known as the Millennium Dome) and the Air Line cable cars, which offer scenic transport across the Thames between North Greenwich and the Royal Docks.
