Perfect room for a single traveler, spotlessly clean, lovely hosts. There's a fridge and appliances to make meals in the room. DVD player and TV. The location is great for exploring central London, there are rental bikes across the street as well as many bus lines to practically everywhere. 15 minute walk to Big Ben and the London Eye.

The biggest surprise for me was how quiet Captain Bligh's was at night. I actually slept like a baby even though we were located just minutes from the heart of the city. The second surprise was how I never had to use the underground or the bus system at all - as mentioned by others, if you are reasonably fit... More

My daughter and I stayed at the Captain Bligh House for 4 days and nights at the end of September. Gayna, the hostess, wisely recommended "The London Apartment" for us and it was just perfect. It is a small (but not too small) one bedroom flat with kitchenette, dining table, lounging area, and bathroom. The bedroom has twin beds with... More

My mom and I were delighted to return to Captain Bligh House, staying in Crow’s Nest again. We can’t rave about it enough. The apartment is so comfortable and equipped with everything you could need. The open-plan living room/kitchen has a lovely view of the park across from the Imperial War Museum. Gayna and Simon are ideal hosts – incredibly... More

Captain Bligh House is situated within the wonderfully vibrant South Bank area with its exciting restaurants, theatres and street entertainers. A 10 minute walk to the London Eye, 20 minutes to Covent Garden or, with our excellent transport facilities, only an 8 minute bus ride to Piccadilly and London's famous West End Theatres.

My sister and I returned to Captain Bligh House for 4 nights at the end of September (in the Royal Suite this time.) We found everything as well appointed and well-stocked as we remember. Gayna and Simon were lovely and welcoming as always. (I am grateful to Simon for not sending me his chiropractor's bill for lugging my giant suitcase... More

From the moment you make your reservation, you know you have chosen a very special place. Gayna and Simon's genuine, warm, enthusiastic hospitality make this feel like "home away from home." The rooms are nicely decorated and clean, the location is ideal--close to restaurants and public transportation and within walking distance of many key sites. This September we stayed in... More

Last week 6 of us rented 3 rooms on a stopover - 4 nights in London, after an Ireland tour. I found this B&B thru Trip Advisor and it was every bit what we expected. Gayna & Simon the owners ,met us on our arrival and gave us a short breifing as to the coming and going of the B&B.... More

We chose the Captain Bligh House because of its historic legacy, but we loved it for being everything you could possibly need or want in this amazing city. Although it is close to the major sightseeing venues, the neighborhood of Lambuth is not crowded with tourists and doesn't have all those annoying souvenir places. The best part about the Captain... I stayed for a fourth time in Captain Bligh House with the great hosts Gayna and Simon. This time in the Royal Suite as the single rooms were taken. Another great stay, with all equipment and facilities you need. The local tube station was closed for renovation, but there are so many buses that wasnt a problem. London was very... More
