Two night weekend stay to explore the city. Good location at the docks - nice views and nice short walk into the city. Checked in ahead of time keys were ready at reception. Very friendly and helpful check in staff at reception. Parking a bit confusing. Nearest car park was a council operated facility just next to the hotel. Signs to say hotel guests to only pay for 9 hours - I was worried how they know who's a hotel guest so no fines are given - all was fine but was confusing. Room was great - lots of space and seating. Fridge with bottled water provided, air conditioning, plenty of charing points/USB. Loved some of the design features in the room - lights hanging on rope. Room could be improved by some hooks near the door for jackets/bags/umberella. Nice seat/bench along the window, some cushions to lean on when sitting looking at the window would have made more comfortable. Bathroom was very nice. Loved that the buttons to switch the shower on were at the end where you got in so not having to lean under the shower head to switch on was a great addition. Needed a bit more counter space to put items out. there was a little bit round the sink but no where near enough and so had to keep everything in wash bags. The let down was the reception/bar area. There was no atmpshphere it was a very open space could have been broken up with more screens/shelves to break up the vast space. No music in the background which was an issue when sitting in the bar. We arrived at 8pm so went down to the bar for some snacks and a drink. Only one other couple in the bar when we arrived and at least 3 staff looking after the bar with others milling in the restaurant. Had a look at the menu on the board next to the bar. Decided to order a drink and have a think about food. Ordered the drink and asked if we could get some food and takes some menus to look at. Staff member first checked their watch then pointed to the board and said I can see the menu there. I explained I was wanting to have a seat and a look over the menu and menus were handed over. Prices were reasonable. We ordered some food. One member of the bar staff was very helpful and made us feel welcome. Saw menu for cocktails so decided to have this before heading to bed. Went up to order. Member of staff that was at the bar at the time said we are not doing cocktails. I just said that there were menus with cocktails all over the bar and so thought it was fine - it was only 9pm and it was only us in the bar. Suddenly said ok then and I said only if it's not a problem. It was very awkward. Ordered drinks - took about 20 minutes to make. Member of bar staff who served us earlier came back and helped, thankfully. The bar and staff need to raise standards to exceed expectations. When the place is empty and it's not very late and I am being made to feel more of an inconvenience something's not quite right. When so many staff and so few customers little touches like asking us to take and seat and drinks would be brought over or coming over and asking if we wanted any more drinks would have been a nice touch - we would likely have spent more money and spent more time if this was the case. Staff experience will grow with time but a manger needs to be keeping an eye on this and prompting staff who are new to think on their feet about how they can change when things are quiet and make customers feel welcomed.

Hotel's Favorite
We stayed here on a coach break with Breaks2go on the 3rd - 5th September. From arrival till leaving we were made to feel so welcome. The hotel is 4* and we’ll deserves its rating. The rooms are generous and luxurious, tea coffee making facilities, a fridge with bottles of water supplied foc, a safe foc, good quality toiletries and an amazing rainfall walk in shower. I had called the hotel before travelling and requested a high floor quiet room. We had an amazing room on the 8th floor overlooking the Mersey. We watched cruises 🚢 come and go and the room was really quiet. I mentioned to Sara in reception when I was on the phone that I used to visit my aunt in Birkenhead frequently when really young and she said she was from Birkenhead. What a surprise on arrival at our room to discover a large envelope with photos of all the areas I had visited as a young girl, I was totally overwhelmed and can’t thank her enough for bringing to life these happy memories. We booked the restaurant for dinner on the Friday and Saturday. There was. Corporate event on and the restaurant was closed, however, because we had ore booked we had the restaurant to ourselves with a 3 course free of charge, wow, this was an amazing gesture, Zac our waiter was very efficient, funny and great banter between us, a great asset to the Pullman, Katy in reception was also lovely and passed my gratitude and thanks to Sara for her kindness in going to the trouble of giving me the photos of Birkenhead.

Great hotel in a great location. We stayed in the deluxe suite which was well furnished and impeccably clean. All the employees we came across were great and very very friendly so a few names to mention, Katie the Duty Manager, Stuart on the Front Desk, Zach in the Restaurant - and loads of others whose names I either didnt catch or cant remember! - as I say everyone we came across in this hotel were fabulous. The food in Restaurant is also very good. We would definitely return to this hotel - highly recommended and in our opinion it is superior to a lot of 5 star hotels we have stayed in recently!

Travelled with some girlfriends for a weekend of shopping and sightseeing and found the location of the Pullman to be very good. Easy walk to the Albert Docks for meals etc and a lovely Sunday stroll up to the cruise terminal to see the sights. The only thing I wasn't keen on was the harsh lighting and mirrors in the lifts (urrhhhh) and the lighting in the bathroom wasn't good. I also thought the shower needed a good scrub on the mosaic tiles grout. Beds were super comfy. Zach in the restaurant was ace!

Just returned from a 3 night stay at this lovely hotel with my Husband celebrating our 36th Wedding Anniversary. Check in was very easy and we were advised that we had been upgraded to an Executive Room - lovely surprise. The room was on the 2nd floor and was spacious with a very comfortable bed and a large flat screen TV. The bathroom was also great with a rainfall shower and lovely smelling toiletries. Our room also came with a complimentary mini bar which was a very nice addition. Breakfast was buffet style with plenty of hot and cold choices - we both really enjoyed the quality and choice of food. Special mention to our Waitress Paige who was so welcoming and spent a few moments each morning catching up with what we had done and offering advice when asked. She is a credit to the team. Amazing location next to the M&S Arena and very close to Albert Dock. There is lovely walk along the river at the front of the hotel. Also very close to Liverpool One and the city centre. Also plenty of parking next to the hotel. It was £12 for 24 hours. Liverpool is such a warm and welcoming city and we will return next year. We will definitely be staying at the Pullman again
