The Hard Days Night Hotel in Liverpool strikes a chord with Beatles aficionados, offering a nostalgic vibe with its themed decor and memorabilia. While its central location is a hit for easy access to local attractions and nightlife, some guests have hit a sour note with noise disturbances.
Opinions on the hotel's value and service hit a range of octaves; deals are sometimes applauded, but unexpected charges and variable service quality can dampen the experience. Room reviews harmonize on spaciousness but diverge on maintenance and cleanliness.

Detailed Reviews
Especially if you're stay is going to include a healthy amount of time on Mathew Street.
First piece of advice, currently, the windows on the front of the hotel are not double pained. If you are a lite sleeper this will be an issue for you. Fortunately, I am not. However, that is not to say that the strong winds of Storm Daniel didn't play havoc with the windows in my room. Suggestion, it would have been nice if the front desk had asked me if I needed a quiet room which, apparently, is something you need to ask for. I can see (if you have to ask for it) where some guests might have an issue with this. But, like I said, it didn't bother me (much).
However, for the Beatles fan, this hotel is wonderful. The staff is impeccable and everything is fashioned for the comfort and enjoyment of the Beatles fan. I often wondered if the employees ever get tired of the Beatle music constantly playing in the lobby and bars throughout the hotel! I asked, they said no (and I really believed them! Ha Ha). Even the do not disturb (Let It Be) door tag was worth a picture. I was even told that the performers in the hotel lobby bar (just off the lobby actually and there's another one on a lower floor) has the same performers that play at the venues on Mathew Street (Cavern Club) - during my stay this was much more comfortable.
The bed was comfortable and the TV was even equipped with Chromecast so I could run video off my own laptop!
The hotel is in a fantastic location right next to Mathew Street and a little bit over a 10 minute walk from Lime Street Station.
The restaurant is conveniently open later and I did opt for breakfast every morning which was affordable and very good.
I was told that those who visit Liverpool now instantly fall in love with it. Count me among those! My stay was too short as there is much more to explore in the city and The Hard Days Night Hotel is a very good base. I look forward to returning - and requesting a quiet room!

We booked this hotel because of its location and themed Beatles history, parking was also a requirement and the Q car park 5 minutes walk away was excellent value with the hotel discount.
The hotel is one of the old buildings in Liverpool so expect floor boards creaking Etc. Checking in was efficient and done with the CVID restrictions in place. Our room was clean spacious large bath and separate shower which was very good. Prior to booking we wear inform breakfast was limited so we opted for room only there plenty of places to eat very close to the hotel. Yes there’s a doorman on 24 hours they were very pleasant always spoke and it does make the hotel secure because like every city there are unfortunately people out there on the streets. We will definitely return hopefully time change and a touch of normality return to fully enjoy the hotel and city.

We were bought a stay here as a Christmas gift from a friend as we were attending a show in town the same night. I was surprised by the “deluxe” room. It was very mediocre in my opinion (see photos). The room was very cool and didn’t seem to warm up at all even though the temperature reading on the control panel stated 27deg. It wasn’t enough of an issue to report to reception as I actually prefer a cool bedroom, but others would definitely be cold in there.
The in room toiletries were very poor and cheap looking. One tiny bottle of shampoo/conditioner mixed, one tiny body wash and tiny moisturiser.
We were in room 213 and it was very quiet. It overlooked the back of the hotel, facing another building. So we didn’t experience any noise from Mathew Street.
There is no fridge in the room which was disappointing as I’d brought a bottle of wine with me to cool for later. As it happens the room itself kept it cool anyway!
Bar Four was not as cozy and luxurious as I was hoping. Considering the price of the drinks (£14.95 for a small sized champagne cocktail) one would hope for quieter, more plush surroundings.
Breakfast in Blake’s restaurant in the morning was phenomenal. Lots of variety and very helpful, friendly staff. All staff we encountered throughout the hotel were friendly and helpful.
The location of the hotel is spot on. I just feel there needs to be an increased level of pride / class injected into the rooms.

Myself and my husband stayed here for 2 nights for our 10th wedding anniversary. This was our 4th visit to Liverpool but our first visit to this hotel. Having read previous reviews about noise, we emailed the hotel prior to our stay and requested a high floor. We were told our request had been noted but it couldn’t be guaranteed. On check in, we were warmly greeted and told we had received an upgrade! A fantastic start to our weekend, as was the card wishing us a happy anniversary. Nice touch! The room was lovely, spacious and very clean and we couldn’t hear any street noise apart from the odd siren - something you expect in a city centre! The bed was huge and very comfy, my only gripe was the pillows felt lumpy and didn’t hold their shape, so could probably do with replacing in the near future. The lighting control by the bed was fab, no stumbling around a strange room in the dark. The additional security on each floor put your mind at rest that only guests can access the rooms.
The staff around the hotel were very friendly and went out of their way to strike up conversation or wish you well. A special mention to Kevin and Peter, such lovely gents who were happy to take time out of their day for you.
Breakfast was excellent too, good quality and lots of choice. Served buffet style, the food was hot and perfectly cooked. There was also a wide range of pastries, fruit, cereal and fruit juices.
The location is perfect, right on the corner of Mathew Street and the infamous Cavern Club. Liverpool One is just a few minutes away and the station can be walked in less than 10 minutes.
All in all a fantastic relaxing weekend away and we would definitely return.

Although Beatle memorabilia was brilliant , positioned in town centre , room no 103 overlooked Mathew street very dissatisfied with “deluxe” double . Dingy and dark , could do with a good bottoming!! Especially in the corners . Plenty of plug sockets but not of any use ! Extension required if you want to boil kettle or use hairdryer or straighteners near large mirror by the door . No dressing table or mirror in room for makeup /hair only in bathroom where lighting like bedroom very dingy . Had to ask for toiletries ie shower gel , shower cap should be standard oh and one sachet of coffee only . General housekeeping ??? The website does not reflect this room , if it did then we certainly would not have booked and paid £157 a night .

Stayed here for two nights and mainly had a great stay (just a couple of small issues). As a big Beatles fan - and having stayed on in the city after attending the football Saturday to do all of the Beatles attractions - I just had to stay here and the hotel was pretty good. The location of the hotel itself is literally around the corner from The Cavern and Mathew Street, and the Docks are within a 10/15 minute walk. The room was comfortable, spacious and the bathroom was good as well - both were clean as well. I found the reception staff to be very friendly; however one of the small issues I had was a lack of housekeeping with my room. Nothing major but I did put the make up the room sign on my door and yet, none came in to do this. I did have a couple of towels left to use instead of the ones I had left to be changed, so it wasn't a massive problem, but I did find it strange that this was ignored.
Overall though, I had a great stay and would stay here again if I'm back in Liverpool!

Great hotel with friendly staff in the heart of the the Beatles quarter with its own bar and restaurants. Parking was easy as they have a deal with Q park which is a 2-3 minutes walk away from the hotel. Even though we only booked a standard double, we were pleasantly surprised to find our room included a bath and shower, hairdryer, iron, ironing board, TV, free wifi and full tea and coffee making facilities. Only 5-10 minute walk to peer head and Royal Albert Dock there were lots of attractions and other restaurants nearby. The buffet breakfast included both a continental breakfast and full English (excellent value for money). Would definitely visit again.

This is the 2nd time we have stayed at the hard days night hotel and just like the first time it was a great stay, we had a lovely big room with a balcony on the 5th floor. All covid 19 guidelines were met, hand sanitizer situated in the reception, bar area and also in the room.
Even though there is limited staff they all worked very hard, especially at breakfast time.
From walking through the door on check in to walking out when we checked out it was a fab stay for us. Situated in the centre among bars restaurants and Liverpool one shopping all within walking distance of each other.
Would highly recommend and will definitely be staying again in the future.

We booked a deluxe room with a balcony and informed the hotel that it was our wedding night and my birthday. We were pleasantly surprised to find out on check in that we had been upgraded to the McCartney Suite!! The room was amazing!! Huge balcony, fantastic furniture (plus a suit of armour!?) and fabulous pictures of Paul McCartney and memorabilia around the room. The bed was huge and so comfortable. There was a coffee machine, fridge, bottles of water, and a special treat of mini cakes and even 2 cards, one saying happy birthday and the other with congratulations! Plus slippers and robes! I would say the controls for the rooms are quite confusing to work. Even though the balcony is narrow it would have been nice to have chairs to sit on, and I bruised my finger trying to lock the balcony door. Small issues which didn’t bother our stay.
Staff were extremely helpful and courteous.
Breakfast was delicious and much needed.
It was the absolute perfect finish to a perfect wedding day and I can’t thank you enough x

We stayed in the hotel on Thursday 22nd July using a buyagift voucher that was given as a present last year. Check in is from 3pm, we asked if there was any chance of an early check in which was not possible. I can always understand if the hotel is full the night before but if rooms are available then it would be nice for staff to go the extra mile and check to see if any clean rooms are available.
We stayed in room 110 which showed signs of urgent paint work needed on the walls, the bath slip mat was showing signs of mould so did not use it. The room was extremely noisy on a night, we stayed in the hotel previously and it was never as noisy as this visit, it seems like we were on the noisiest side of the hotel. I was awake most of the night due to the sound of drunk people in the street. It seems the lower the rooms are subject to a lot more noise, I would suggest that people stay on the higher floors.
Behind the tv stand looked like it had not been cleaned at all and needed to be hoovered.
We had dinner in the restaurant and was warned that the plate was hot for the desert although the desert itself was cold (apple crumble). I would suggest to any guests staying in future to request a high floor and pay for an upgrade if it is a special occasion. Breakfast is buffet style which feels a little strange at the moment. More choice of eggs would have been nice. The hotel is in a fantastic location near Matthew Street, the bars near the hotel are the busiest in the city. Independent bars can be found if you look a little further. For any Beatles fans I would suggest Cains Brewery where you can find the Yellow Submarine Bar, this is away from the main tourist area.
Every room in the hotel has different artwork above the bed, the lower floors feature artwork from the beginning of the Beatles career and the higher floors feature the later days.
When staying in Liverpool again in future I would look to stay in a quieter hotel for a better nights sleep.

Good afternoon
We have entertainment on Friday and Saturday. 5-8 a DJ playing through Happy Hour, then a singer from The Cavern at 8-11
Hi, I would call them about the children issue… mathew street side can be noisy… city side is quieter…. Hope that helps
Parking was at Q1 a 5 minute walk from the hotel, if you are staying at the hotel they give you some discount on the parking I think it was about £12 ish. We didn't eat in so I'm not sure of the prices.
