We'd booked a room at The Pineapple through booking.com before reading any TripAdvisor reviews. Despite the spectacularly poor reviews we thought we'd give it a whirl anyway. On arrival, we were greeted by a pleasant member of staff. We paid in cash up front as the hotel doesn't accept card payments - a useful tip we'd picked up from previous...

A list of things you will need; toilet rolls, towels and definitely definitely antibacterial wipes as the place isn't clean. Cups in the room stained, tea coffee stains and black dust on tray etc. We booked using credit card but still had to pay cash when we got there. It's not very clear on the website that the card is...

Such a friendly hotel, staff were helpful and friendly, locals who drank in the bar were also really friendly. We were made to feel right at home. We even left out bags for a day as our train home wasn't until the evening! Room was basic and shared toilet and shower room - however the rooms and facilities were clean...

On arrival the lady behind the bar was friendly and polite. We paid for our rooms in cash as they did not accept card. We had 2 rooms which were opposite the pubs toilets/fire exit. The fire exit door was left open all night which might of been OK if the plugged in heaters would work. We had no electricity...

Upon arrival, the lady who was working behind the bar was very friendly and asked us for payment upfront but wouldn't allow us to pay on card and asked for cash only. We then went into our room which was directly outside the men's toilets on the bottom floor, the corridor stunk of urine and the fire door down the...

I stayed there on the 30th Sept/2nd Oct 2016. I was in Room 105. It was very dusty; the sink tap was broken; the sink leaked; there was no bath mat to step onto on coming out of the very small basic shower onto the stone floor; there was no shelf in the bathroom, so nowhere to put your toilet...

We visited the Pineapple hotel last night. After reading the reviews we were so worried. But we got to the hotel (£5 from lime street in a taxi) and walked into the bar which was a little out dated but with plenty of alcohol to offer (yes some in cans but cheap) rooms were already ready at 12 so they...

The Pineapple is a 150 year old, family owned, former coaching inn one mile from the City Centre. It is now a B&B with a popular bar but the name and the locals' bar have both remained. We are just 20 minutes from the John Lennon Airport on the way to the City and only 5 minutes from Lime Street Station and all other popular attractions and nightlife.
