We stayed here for 2 nights and absolutely loved it here. The staff we so helpful and friendly and the room was clean and spacious. You can feel the old world history that it is steeped in but it's right up to date with wifi and fab food. The breakfast was fantastic in fact we didn't eat again until dinner... More

Was lucky enough to stop here for a night on our trip around the UK. It felt like stepping back in time - loved the atmosphere. Staff were all friendly and accommodating. Room was very clean and had a great view. I had the best night sleep so far in the most comfy bed. Wish we could have spent two... More

The hotel is well appointed and well maintained and in a good location. It is a short walk to the Gormley - Another Place installation and also to Waterloo Rail Station for trips into Liverpool. There is a wide choice for breakfast and bar meals. Both were of a good standard - and it was pleasant to be able to... More

Where can I begin? Every time I come to Liverpool, I stay at the Royal. It is historic and graceful and it is right in front of the Crosby Marina, where Antony Gormley's Another Place stands dramatically on the beach. I love the special rooms with the four poster beds, the lovely reception staff, the attentive bar staff, the lovely... More

We booked one night at The Royal Hotel to attend a family get together nearby. Unable to secure the specified disabled room we opted for first floor sea view. Arrived at the hotel and was offered help immediately with luggage and assistance for my husband on the staircase ( staircase lovely feature even better from first floor up). Our room... More

The Royal Hotel has a history going back to the early nineteenth century and the building has some interesting period details that have been preserved. It looks as if it has been refurbished relatively recently. My mistake was not to ask for a sea view so our room was at the back with a noisy extractor fan nearby (kitchens?). The... More

Thank you for your review. A couple of our rear rooms do overlook a kitchen extractor, however, this is turned off from around 9.30pm until morning. We have also fitted tripple glazing to the two rooms directly around the extractor to mimimise noise. We would love to be able to put the extractor elsewhere, however, being 200 years old and... Stayed a night while travelling North. Reception staff were very helpful and friendly - you felt welcomed! Room was clean and comfy, in fact we both (husband & I) slept very well. Had an evening meal in the bar, which was good - but have to say it was a superb breakfast, the Eggs Benedict was fab, best I've had!... More

Three of us ate in the conservatory. You order at the bar and food is brought to the table. We all had local black pudding to start / delicious. Steaks were cooked as requested, chips were crispy. Wine was reasonable (14.95!) Cheerful attentive service. Car park at the front of the hotel. If you sit in the conservatory you can... More
