Room was fine. Food in restaurant was above expectation. You have to wait a bit for it to come. But this is good, it shows it is freshly cooked. Breakfast is excellent. Good real ale available for a fair price in the bar.

The Royal has a brilliant team from bar dispensers, reception, waiting on staff and Restaurant Manager Barry. Obviously we did not meet behind the scenes staff, but credit for a timely well presented meal, which. for the most part was enjoyable and good value for money. The roast beef was tough and steak knives were requested. Nothing was too much...

Stayed here in as an impromptu night away - but should have brought sandwiches. The room was well adorned, decorated and equipped. No complaints whatsoever. Staff very friendly. Evening in the restaurant was a disaster. Rubber chicken, leather beef and Aunt Bessie's roast potatoes perfectly created the feel of a restaurant on its last legs - actually back in the...

The staff and management were superb from start to finish. Nothing was too much trouble. The room was lovely and clean and the bed was really comfy. Bar process good and the food in bar was very nice. Breakfast was excellent too. Fantastic location for walks and local amenities. I would recommend to anyone looking for a quiet relaxing place.

Stayed in the Royal last night and found it great. Staff were fantastic with the young barman going above and beyond. The evening meal was excellent with the steak first class. Freshly cooked breakfast with a good choice and overall fantastic value for money.

As good as it looks. Warm atmosphere and friendly. French chef prepares first rate food. Good choice of breakfasts. 5 minutes from station to city. Stunning view out over Bay of Mersey and far hills of North Wales. Sunsets to die for. Big boats pass close to shore in shipping channel. Walk on sands and around lagoon. Will be back!
