We lunched here mid-week when the area was very busy. There were no customers eating in the bar, and only three other diners in the restaurant for the whole of the time we were there. That should have rung alarm bells. Everywhere was sparkling clean and the service excellent, but the food was abysmal. Soup thin and tasteless, seafood pate... More

Stayed the weekend in a courtyard room, parked car right outside. One of these rooms are accessible, but I am sure they would be perfect if you only had mobility problems as the main hotel does not have a lift, reception bar and restaurant fully accessible. Restaurant absolutely superb, the chef will adapt most things to suit he is marvellous,... More

Just returned from a two night stay at this very pleasant hotel with my husband. The room was very comfortable and clean, nicely appointed/done out very nicely, as was the rest of the hotel. The breakfast was one of the nicest I have had in a hotel. We did not try the restaurant although the menu looked appetizing. The staff... More

We travelled to stay Friday night to have the full day from the start on the Saturday. We planned to visit the poppies at the castle. Great location. Car park full on arrival which was a bit stressful but a very kind member of staff offered to move his car however our car was too big to fit in his... More

We booked an executive double for four nights and were given a courtyard room. Sounded good until we got there, the room opened directly onto a car park over looking a wall with a door to the kitchen. . It was a disabled room but anyone in a wheelchair would have been able to get in the door because of... More

We stayed at the Castle Hotel for two nights this weekend to meet up with friends. We had one of the executive rooms on the second floor overlooking the courtyard. The room was fine - the only comment I would make is that it smelt quite strongly of cigarette smoke - people gathered in the courtyard area to smoke and... More

Stayed on a Sunday night and had planned to take my wife to the Reform restaurant only to find that there was a wedding reception that day and restaurant was closed to other clients - had I known this when I made the booking I would probably gone elsewhere. The wedding party effectively took over the hotel and it was... More

We stayed for 2 nights quite unexpectedly (we usually stay at the Hilton) and it was a lovely change. Staff were friendly, the restaurant lovely and it was nice to be located in the old quarter. The rooms are tastefully decorated though small and it is noisy in the mornings. Check out is early also at 10am. However we would... More

Booked on the Saturday for a Sunday to Tuesday break (2 nights). Never been to Lincoln before so had no idea what to expect. The hotel was exactly as described within 2 minutes of both the castle and cathedral. Perfect and didn't use the car during our stay. The room was small but had all we needed, clean and comfortable,... More

We had a one night stay after a wedding nearby. We liked the hotel a lot. Very modern and clean. Excellent breakfast the next morning. Our deluxe room was good and well appointed but probably would have expected a larger room for the price. Our only criticism was that the hotel took full payment before we arrived, despite the fact... More
