Set in the former residence of the Bishop of Lincoln, the Old Palace Hotel occupies a lovely setting overlooked by the magnificent Lincoln Cathedral. Its rooms are comfortable and clean, and the included breakfast is good. It is perfectly located with quick access to the cathedral, Lincoln Castle and Steep Hill. My room was in the old chapel and my...

Location is right under the cathedrals nose and a short walk to the castle.Staff are very attentive as we found out when we had an issue with the first room we were allocated. The bed springs were rather worn especially on one side that caused a very uncomfortable sleep. We spoke to the lovely lady on reception the next morning...

It’s like living in another era. It was foggy and dark on the night we stayed, which added to the spooky atmosphere. We think we were visited by the resident ghost when our tv switched on and off during the night - apparently he does that! We had a very memorable stay here and I would really recommend it.

This is a visually stunning hotel set in a wonderful location. I can safely say I have never stayed at a more incredible place historically. Set next to the old Bishops palace, in the shadow on Lincoln Cathedral, this hotel is really something to behold. We were located in the annexe which is a series of rooms in the chapel...

QWhat a find - a real treasure! We stayed in The Lodge. Our room had the most beautiful window and very very comfortable bed. The staff were very friendly & helpful. The location is superb. Close to the castle & cathedral at the top of steep hill. We had a view of the cathedral from our room. Although the hotel...

I booked this as we were visiting the Christmas Market and this hotel is a stone's throw away from it. It is also on the doorstep of the cathedral and the individual shops in the upper part of the city (rather than the 'chains' down the hill). We stayed in the separate part just a very short walk from the...

I booked thinking I would be enjoying a stay in a beautiful historical hotel as shown on the photos on the website. The part of the building I got to stay in and use was only a small reception area stairway to room used for breakfast. No lounge to use or bar in the hotel. My room was in the...

This was our second stay at the Old Palace. Last time we were in the main building, this time we were staying in the annex, the room was fairly small but more than big enough for our stay, the bathroom was clean, modern and had a lovely hot shower. The room and bathroom was warm with plenty of heating. The...

A very warm welcome at Reception from Saviour, a most knowledgable and most courteous young man. We hadn't been forewarned that we would have a room in the 'Annexe',Which entailed a walk outside in the rain. The room itself was very well furnished and spotlessly clean. We were attending a performance of Handel's Messiah, and were disappointed to find there...
