If you want to chill out and forget about your woes then Launde Abbey is the place to be. Beautiful surroundings, comfortable, clean rooms and excellent food. Spent the weekend left feeling rested and my batteries have definitely recharged. Thank you to all the staff who made my stay perfect.

Thank you for your feedback. Yes, Launde is an Oasis, giving you time to be yourself. There is very little we can do about the mobile telephone signal but the Governments scheme to bring fast broadband to rural areas has just reached us. We are working on bringing this faster internet wirelessly in certain areas of the building. We will... More

A sublime place to escape the panic of modern life the staff are so knowledgeable and attentive but the food is beyond compare well worth a visit just to spend some quiet time. Not a hotel but a tranquil retreat house set amongst glorious landscapes

Thank you for your feedback. Launde is a great place to simply stop for a while. Whether that stop is just for the afternoon or for a few days. There is the space to be yourself, or in this very busy world, there is the space to find yourself again. We do not "push this" but we also hope that... More

Perfect setting, quiet and relaxing, A party for a special lady who lives in Sydney Australia & we only see her every 3 years. Aaron's organisation and super roast dinner meant a wonderful time, enjoyed by all . Music playing, leaving on a jet plane.

Thank you so much for your fantastic review. I immediately printed it off and took it to Aaron to see. He remembers you very well and was delighted by your comments. We hope to see you all again, hopefully in less than 3 years. Ian Andrews More

Visited for a bit of peace and tranquility. The gardens are beautiful and really serene. We had lunch and a cup of tea in the café. The lunch menu offered a decent selection at reasonable prices. We had jacket potatoes which came with a really nice salad. The staff who served us were very pleasant particularly the chap on the... More

Thank you so much for your kind comments. With the weather so lovely at the moment a visit to our gardens is well worth time. I am pleased to be able to tell you that your jacket potatoes and salads came from our own gardens. You really cannot get any more locally sourced produce than from 150 metres away. Our... More

Lovely manor house operating as a Christian Retreat and Conference Centre. Beautiful parkland setting, excellent catering, chapel attached and characterful accommodation in the house. Miles of walking in the surrounding countryside, and an attractive walled garden.

Thank you for your positive feedback. Attracting walkers, cyclists and anyone passing by is something that we have been promoting for a little while. It is great to see the numbers of people using us increasing. We have a lovely menu for our “drop in” guests and at this time of year most of the potatoes, salads and British fruits... More

I came here with a friend after a walk for lunch. The weather was great so we decided to sit outside. The main was varied and everything was homemade. Lots of sandwiches and salads to choose from and a bar option if you wish. Would return again. You can also take a tour around the abbey.

Thank you for your feedback. Not only is everything homemade most of the British fruits and salads are grown here in our walled garden. Please pop in and see the kitchen garden which is in the walled area at the end of a path. There is also a Victorian greenhouse there (in need of repair) which houses some fantastic examples... If you like quiet roads and miles of fields for walking this is the place for you. There are 5 guided walks based from the abbey but to be fair you can go most anywhere. Good views too. We didn't go into the abbey only the tea room but the atmosphere is everything you would expect. The tea room had... More

Thank you for your comments. We make the soups here at the Abbey from vegetables grown in our gardens and other locally sourced produces. We like to offer our guests a choice of food but on this day the soup proved to be very popular. I am delighted that you enjoyed the Launde afternoon tea. We make the cake here... More

We've just been here for a wedding reception and we were impressed. Staff very friendly and helpful. Beautiful setting for a wedding and we'll definitely go back to try the lunches or afternoon tea :) Lovely area for a walk and quiet lanes (though some steep!) for cycling. Lots of wildlife about

Thank you for your feedback. We love looking after Wedding groups, it is hard work but great fun. This is why we are happy and friendly, we enjoy what we are doing. Peaceful surroundings, birds, trees and sunshine. Afternoon tea for two about £18. Helpful staff, friendly service and pleasant sunny courtyard. The courtyard could have been cleaner though, and the long trek to the lavatories through the hotel part of the building was a bit disorientating. Strolling through the grounds took us to the old walled gardens which were lovely, maintained... More

This is a lovely minor historical house in open countryside. There is enough to interst history and archaeology buffs but this is confined to the exterior and the very intesting chapel. The tea rooms are spacious, bright and clean. There was a good choice of hot food, cakes and snacks. The drawback for me was the very long approach down... More

Thank you for your feedback. Launde Abbey is in the middle of no where but it is much easier to get to from the Oakham road entrance. You must have come in the long way from the A47 and yes, that route can be a problem if you are not use to single lane roads. Being in the middle of... More
