The Mercure's location for central Leicester cannot be beaten. 3 minutes from the train station but with an ample car park if you drive. It is just a stroll to the clock tower in the middle of Leicester City Centre. Lots of great cafes, restaurants and night life plus shopping in the day. The hotel itself has a great reception... Old style hotel recently upgraded, but many steps if you're disabled. Pretentious over-priced restaurant. Eat out. Outside smoking area disgusting never cleaned despite notifying reception. Staff casual.

Thank you for your valuable feedback Since the start of the warm spell we have noticed more guests drinking outside to which we have asked for more attention to be paid to the exterior areas for clearing empty bottles etc I thank you for bringing this to our attention again More

The hotel looks very beautiful as you walk through the grand hallway to the restaurant. However once inside the restaurant there was no-one around to greet us for our reservation( even though diners were eating). As we waited a women staggered through with a large bag from which she drank : very similar to a bag from a box of... More

We stayed there to attend our sons graduation . Although the hotel is central with restaurants and a tesco and nandoos across the street, the hotel itself was in dire need of overhaul. The lobby and reception we very impressive , but the rooms were below average. We got upgraded to a privilege room which was extremely spacious but no... More

Staff were hepfully and friendly when you could find them. Our room was right next door to the function room so we were kept awake until 1pm by the music, you expect some noise from a function but we might as well of been in the room it was that load. Room was warm as the radiator didnt turn off.... More

Thank you for your review, however, l am sorry that you were disturbed by the event noise. We do try to allocate rooms to people not attending the event away from the area but this is only subject to availability and on the night of your stay the hotel was full. We have now checked the radiator and thank you... More

The staff were very friendly and the check in process faultless. While booking in i noticed the check in referred to a compact room, first id heard of this, but the description was very accurate. What i can only described as a converted store room greeted us with a double bed pushed against a wall, certainly far from ideal for... More

My family and I stayed here for 1 night. The room was adequate with all the required amenities. There was construction going on next door, which caused some noise. Also, there was only 1 small fan in the room, which was not enough since it got a bit hot. Other than that, we had a good stay. The location of... More

Thank you for your valuable feedback The council are working outside of the hotel, which does emanate some noise occasionally as you quite rightly have stated. As you can imagine we are consistently pointing the noise factor out to them but alas the work has to be completed. I am pleased however that this did not mar your stay with... More
