Poor rude staff, messed up room bookings , tried to make more expensive than agreed. Had confirmation via email yet still tried to charge us more, charged more for early check in which wasn’t stated when requested and the room was already ready
What a shame - the check in was lovely, and daytime staff were lovely - but the staff in the night-time were a DISGRACE. On the plus side, the breakfast and breakfast staff-lady were so lovely, that I almost didn't write this bad review - but given how bad the stay was, I felt I had to. We had a socially-distance night out which had been planned for ages, and was lovely. The Ramada seemed reasonably priced, and so we booked there to stay over, rather than driving home late at night, (boy I wish we'd driven home rather than staying here). Check in was nice, and the staff on the desk were lovely, and the room was nice as well. We got back to the Hotel around 11.30 after our night out, and then spent the next around 1 hour trying to find out where on earth a loud "beep beep" was coming from every 5 minutes or so. Torture. Because it was spaced out in time - we kept thinking it had maybe stopped, but then again a shocking "beep beep" would sound out, which even with ear-plugs, you could not sleep through. Eventually I tracked it down to the warning light in the corridor outside our room. I called reception, and a laughing lad said that they were leaving the emergency staircase warning buzzers going off "to make sure everyone knew where the fire-escapes were", and asked if we would like it turned off. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?? I was tempted to go downstairs and give the lad a piece of my mind - but decided against, as such frustration rarely has a good outcome. Happily the beeps did not carry on after that. This sort of DELIBERATE SLEEP DEPRIVATION is an abuse, and I suspect it may even be an offence to deliberately abuse safety protocols. Frankly I am tempted to check with the police whether this is even illegal behaviour. At 9pm this might have been funny, and even maybe 10pm, but after midnight, this just ruined our night, and tbh that is now the thing we remember about our lovely trip away. Well done Ramada - you guys spoiled what was otherwise a lovely and memorable trip. To make matters worse, the tiny bed had ridiculously large pillows, so I woke up with an awful crick in the neck, and even 2 days later I cannot turn my head comfortably to the right. What a shame though - because everything else the hotel did was faultless, and this could/should have been a 5 star review, despite the awful pillow. INTENTIONALLY sleep-depriving customers???? What the actual... ****??? I stay in plenty of hotels - and have never had that experience before. The day-time staff and check-in was lovely, and check-out was lovely - the staff there were so friendly and nice - there is no way this intentional sleep-deprivation-abuse was because they didn't like us, or anything like that. This was just some nasty person playing a prank... I would like to see a comment from Ramada Management on why they believe this is acceptable, and what they are doing to protect other customers from this ABUSE.…
Positives: 1. Excellent location. 2. Very clean. 3. Good WiFi. Negatives: 1. The shower broke and the TV didn’t work. 2. Cooked breakfast was terrible - cold and tasted rubbery. Couldn’t eat it. 3. The advice regarding the parking cost me a lot of money. If you want to leave your car the local NCP it will cost you £11 a day. If you want to come and go it will cost you £4.20 an hour! Try calling the hotel and ask if you can stay in their car park (it is tiny and first come first served). 4. The fire alarm went off twice in the night - which is forgivable/understandable except there was no apology for an anxiety inducing disturbed night from any of the staff. 5. There was only 1 member of staff on duty at the desk at any time, which meant if they had a phone call or if there were other people needing help there was a very long wait. All in all the location was the only saving grace and the hotel was not worth the money.…
The second time in his hotel, had a nice experience the first time so thought we’ll stay again! Oh was we so wrong. Walked in and checked in and the reception guy was very rude, I understand this whole covid thing going on but both me and my Partner had proof we were key workers with letters and ID but still asked us full on, with an arrogant vibe. Got to payment and paid by card, before paying we asked the guy at reception if that was the price for breakfast too. He said ‘yeh yeh enter your pin please’. The room was okay, had a cot for the little one and the room in general was clean.. but even so the shower head was broken, the phone was not working so we had to ring reception via our mobile phones, the tv Ariel cable wasn’t working so we couldn’t watch anything or put anything on for our child. Woke up went down and said were ready for breakfast, there was a new guy at the reception and he told us our booking did not include breakfast. With a child who was 1 i was quite worried that we weren’t getting any breakfast or we had got told that we were eligible for breakfast. We explained we had paid with the intention of getting breakfast, asking him who we had booked with he told us the name MADAN RATHORE who was the general manager !!!!!!!! I cannot believe what service we got here and definitely won’t be staying again, we came for a night away and we didn’t expect this treatment. The general manager was rude, arrogant and did not even have a smile on his face. Honestly one of the worst bookings we have ever been to, and considering we stay at a lot of accommodations this was appalling.…
Ideal for visiting the Curve or Haymarket theatres. Comfortable, well equipped rooms. Bar food little expensive. Staff helpful. No parking on site but get discounted rate at the NCP across the street.
