Stayed with friends for a short break on a National Holidays weekend at the end of November. Hotel was very basic and really dated. Our 2 persons room was really small. The bed was clean but there was an awful smell coming from the drains in the bathroom. The TV needed the remote and this was available from Reception. Coffee...

Nice friendly welcome, clean bed and towels. Other people on our trip expected the Hilton. We got what we paid for and after a party night it was a great morning after breakfast. We had a great time and would go again. Without the moaners though

My wife and I stopped here for a weekend with friends. This is not a four star hotel and doesn't pretend to be. It's just a good honest value for money hotel with excellent friendly helpful staff. Parking is a bit of an issue but there is a carpark about 300 metres up the road. A weekends parking could cost...

We cannot fault the pleasantness of staff or the closeness of the hotel to the town but beyond that this is a very low standard of accommodation. We were presented with a third floor room along a narrow corridor with glasses left on the floor outside other rooms. The room was compact with three very uncomfortable (soft depressed mattresses) beds...

October half term week we travelled up from Cornwall, 2 coach loads of us, the hotel is very well situated to access the shopping centre and sea front. It is situated just behind the Winter Gardens. Check in was quick, the staff were all lovely. Breakfast was good, delicious bacon, sausage not so delicious, plenty of it. Evening meal wasn't...

Rooms were clean and tidy, let down by the shoddy wardrobe as the doors did not fit well, this is a minor thing. The food was of exceptional quality, had all meals there with the exception of the compulsory trip to the local chippy on the prom.
